Who is attending IRD?
I will be attending April 19 with Alpha Iota (Baldwin Wallace College)
|
Don't think I can make Gamma Alpha's, but I believe I can attend Gamma Iota's and Gamma Phi's. Both are on my calendar anyway :) - we'll see! I do know Gamma Iota's will be a little tight with other things I have going on.
ETA: Gamma Iota [Mercer] - April 5 Gamma Phi [Georgia Tech] - April 19 |
Well I'd love to since it is my chapter's 50th anniversary as well, but I didn't receive any information or an invitation. Pretty hard to attend an event when no one asks you nor lets you know when and where.
I know both the University Alumni Office and Headquarters have my correct address since I receive The Quarterly, the Idaho magazine, and requests for money on a regular basis. |

It is heart warming though when I do meet the new initiates and tell them we're sisters the lovely reception I get. |
Gamma Tau April 19th
I'll be there!
Hubby has gone to MA until Friday so after dropping him off at the airport, I decided to check out a couple of possible new hometowns (Duluth and Suwanee)..I love them!! Went shopping for an IRD outfit. Hard to describe but it's cute, lol. It's white with black circle-y squiggles that look like roses, It has a little yellow tie in the front with a matching yellow jacket. I's hope that it's warm that day b/c it's supposed to be outside at our ADS's house. |
l'll be at uk,eku, and gc ird on april 5. As to outfit... it will be whatever I can fit into!

Note....there is one elderly alum that always wears Red, Buff and Green to IRD. |
Side comment... you'll see all sorts of red, yellow and green combos at Convention.;)
|
I'll be at the Michigan statewide IRD on April 12. I found a skirt that is black with red roses and I have a green tank that matches the green from the leaves on the skirt, with a black babydoll style shirt to go over it. I will bring the outfit to Convention also. I'm hoping it's not snowing that day...

Atlanta Alumnae Chapter and Gamma Phi did a lovely job with IRD today. Sat with the current CA, another fabulous advisor, and a new IVP at lunch. Rather than a speaker, each table had fun questions to answer and then there was a share time when a speaker might have spoken. It was fun to hear the answers and how they differed based on our ages... all had to do with music, since the theme was "Melody of our Lives." Examples: What song do you think of when you think of your sorority experience? What is your favorite recruitment song?
Gamma Iota did a nice IRD a few weeks ago, too - Open House. Those of you who have gone to IRD this month - how was it? |
Went to Gamma Tau's today. Very nice at our ADS's gorgeous house.
Felt old when a collegiate didn't know how to open a bottle coke (with bottle opener!).;) |
We're having our IRD today (April 19th) here at Virginia Tech! I'm very excited (!!!) for it this year since we didn't get to have it on the regular date last year.
Hope everyone is enjoying IRD this year! |
I saw a cute dress in Sears that was white background with the black swirley roses. It has a thick black ribbon around all the edges.
I would have bought it but it was too similar to the one I already had with the yellow jacket.;) |
I was at IRD on Sunday and it was fantastic! We are especially looking forward to next year's IRD, when we hope there will be MANY more Alpha Gams present. ;)
I met a 90 year old Alpha Gam who has been a member for 70 years. She sang Alpha Gam songs on the karaoke machine. I LOVED it--when she hugged me goodbye I told her that I hope that I can be just like her when I grow up! :D |
Toronto had a lovely IRD on April 19, 2008 at the Toronto Lawn Tennis Club. Tau's oldest living alumna, who initiated in the 1930s was in attendance!
