Favorite Desserts
Mine have to be the Tiramisus and the Strawberry Shortcakes from the Cheesecake Factory http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif
I could totally live in the Cheesecake Factory!!! Mmmm... http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif |
Sammie, you're making me hungry LOLOL!!!
I LOVE Strawberry Shortcake, Cheesecake, and Peach Cobbler!! My favorite Ice Cream Flavors are: Vanilla Cookie Dough Cookies 'n' Cream and do you know that they have an ICE CREAM Flavor of STRAWBERRY CHEESECAKE!!!! (From Dreyer's) It's so delicious. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif |
I like cookie dough, rasberry, cookies and cream. Mint choclete chip is okay. I like vanellia. Good old vanellia. You can try other flavors, they might be exciting for a little while. But when they've had their fun, vanellia is there to pick up the pieces, like that one friend from down the block...that you've had since first grade. um....Would you like to go to the prom with me?

I am in LOVE with Cheesecake Factory's Snickers cheesecake and the Tiramisu cheesecake. I love Macaroni Grill's chocolate cake, and all of Outback's desserts. Applebee's has a strabwerry shortcake sundae that's to die for. I also love Entenmann's cheese buns, Mrs. Smith's Dutch Apple Crumb pie with store brand vanilla and my mom's Sock It To Me Cake! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif
|
I've never been to the cheesecake factory. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Sigmagrrl, I agree with you on Mrs. Smith's Dutch Apple Pie. Yummy http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I've yet to go to Macaronis though. I here good things about them. I did go to this one cheesecake restaurant in Puerto Rico two years ago and it was the bomb. I love almost any chocolate dessert, unless it has rasberry. I'm not a fan of rasberry sauce and chocolate. I do love cookiedough icecream. Some of my favorite dessert places are Applebees, I like two of their chocolate desserts. Olive Garden is another good dessert place. They have some good chocolate desserts as well. Here on the east coast we have a restaurant called Friendlys and they have the best desserts too. We have this one place in my hometown called Carl's. Its a very popular icecream shoppe here in town. Of course they only have Vanilla or Chocolate but it is to die for http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Last weekend I went to this local French Restaurant in town called La Petite and they have some good chocolate desserts too. The one I had was just right. Not too rich http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

YUMMMMM. I am all about sweet foods. I absolutely loveeeeeee cheesecake. Plain cheesecake with strawberries and and turtle cheesecake are two of my favorites. I don't know how many of you have ever been to a Marble Slab Creamery but they have a cheesecake ice cream that tastes just like the real thing. I always get strawberries mixed in. YUMMMMMMMMMMMM. And I'm gonna have to go ahead and agree with Miami and Sigmagrrl...Mrs. Smith's apple pie is the best. Especially when it's fresh out of the oven!!!
I'm SOOOO hungry now!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif Allison ------------------ ~A cloudy day is no match for a sunny disposition~ |

Since we're talking about desserts, I'm going to give ya'll my extra-special, extra fattening, extra-rich brownie recipe, that I got from a Kids cookbook many years ago.
You need: 2 sticks butter 4 eggs 3/4 cups cocoa 2 cups sugar 1 1/4 cups flour 1 teaspoon vanilla dash of salt Melt the butter, but don't let it boil. Mix together the cocoa and sugar, and then stir in the butter. Add the eggs and vanilla and then stir. Add the flour and salt and mix it until all the lumps are gone. Pour the mixture into a greased (cooking spray works fine) 8x8 or 9x9 pan, and bake at 350 for 40-45 minutes. These are NOT for anyone on a low-fat diet! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif |
OOOOH yummy.....LOL
LSUTigerGirl, I don't know if you caught it in my post or not, but Dreyer's Ice Cream makes a STrawberry Cheesecake flavor!! It is to die for; it's my fave Dreyer's Ice Cream flavor! I think Breyer's also came out w/a Cheesecake flavor too... http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif |
Some of my favorites include:
7 Layer Bars (must have real butterscotch chips!!) Gullab Jamun Sohan Papri Bread Pudding Apple Pie Pecan Pie (yeah, equeen has a sweet tooth... http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif) ------------------ @-->--- Pure as Silver, and True Blue! Alpha Sigma Kappa - Women in Technical Studies |
equeen, what galub jamun? thanks!

Thanks a lot for this fattening topic, sammie. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif
My father's family has a "thing" about strawberries...with sugar, over ice cream, strawberry shortcake, whatever! When they're in season they don't last long around my aunts, uncles & cousins. I definitely inherited this tendency! Once a year, I gorge on apple dumplings from my college town's annual street fair. And I just found a new Ben & Jerry's flavour - Orange and Cream. It kicks ass!! I really don't like ice cream w/ chunky things in it so this is right up my alley. Speaking of B & J - does anyone know if they discontinued Vanilla Caramel Fudge?? I haven't been able to find it lately. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif This shouldn't happen in America!! |
33girl, I love strawberries too http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif. I think it started with the DOLL Strawberry Shortcake!! I had all her stories and everything...even a greeting card collection!! Isn't she cute?!!
Then I started to like Strawberry Ice Cream, then the real things, then topped off w/my cereal...and the rest is history LOL... Quote:

Edy's DREAMERY and Safeway both have a flavor called NY Cheesecake. The Edy's has strawberries in it. Safeway also has a Tiramisu ice cream!!! I LOVE EDY'S DREAMERY!!
|
Zebra Brownies from the Garden Cafe, Girl Scout Cookies (thin mints and carmel delights), home-made brownies...all some of my favs.
Ohhhh now I'm craving some chocolate! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif Hootie ------------------ What do you get when you cross and Alpha Omicron Pi and a Sigma Phi Epsilon? A beautiful Chi Omega!!! |

Newbie, girlie, when are we gonna go to Cheesecake?!!! We have to go to Union Square when I come back to S.F. for Memorial Day!!! You know that it's gonna be a shop-till-you-drop day http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif and then we top it off by going to the best restaurant in the world. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif [This message has been edited by Theta-cutie (edited April 05, 2001).] |
Ok they're not really a dessert but Starbuck's frappucinos rock my world!!! I like the mocha best! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
|
Turtlegirl, I love the frappuchinos! They rock!
Otherwise, I love Strawberry Ice Cream. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif But I'm more of a "salty" girl than a "sweets" one. I love pretzels, chex mix, chips n'dip, and most of all ITALIAN food! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif |
Hmmmm...I LOVE desserts...
-Cheesecake: pumpkin, blueberry, cherry -Creme Brulee (had a bite of blueberry one today that was the BOMB! -Warm Chocolate Banana Bread Pudding -Banana's Foster -Apple Crisp, Peach Cobbler, Pound Cake (by my Granny, of course) -Sorbet http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif ------------------ Finer Womanhood: the "Cat's Meow" Since 1920 |
Thought of some more....LOL.
My stepmom's peach cobbler...it's the best when right out of the oven. My mom's pound cake...especially when it's topped with fresh Louisiana strawberries. Oh...and I don't think you would technically call this a dessert but they're sweet and they're really good!!! BEIGNETS...for everybody that's never heard of them...they're basically cajun donuts. Only exceptions are that they are square and have no hole...they're kinda shaped like sopapillas. You top them with powdered sugar!!! YUMMMMMMMMMMM http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Allison |
OOOH, Allison, how about Krispy Kremes!!!! We here in SF don't have Beignets. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif
|
Newbie...I have to say that I love just plain donuts too. Especially just the plain glazed donuts when they're fresh!!!!!! Beignets are the best especially when you get them at Cafe Du Monde in New Orleans.
Allison |
I'm part Filipino, and my mom is full, and she makes the best banana lumpia. It's basically just banana and brown sugar in eggroll wrappers deep fried to a crisp. I've heard people call them plantanos or plantains. Whatever the name is...it's darn good! Add vanilla ice cream to it and it's even better!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif
Some of my other favorites are flan, regular mochi and butter mochi, and anything from Dunkin Donuts--the chain came back to the islands after a 7 year absence!!! ------------------ "Talk doesn't cook rice."--Someone smart Visit Alpha Gamma Delta-Delta Sigma chapter! |

The best way I can describe it is through its texture. It is most like a pancake with syrup - it has the soft cake-iness of the pancake (though it's a sphere, not flat), and it's dripping with syrup (sugar-based, not maple). ------------------ @-->--- Pure as Silver, and True Blue! Alpha Sigma Kappa - Women in Technical Studies |
Krispy Kreme doughnuts are yummy to my tummy!! I like the original glazed ones!! I also like beignets!! I went to New Orleans about 3 years ago and i remember having those with hot chocolate! they were very good!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
|
Oooh and churros! does anyone else like churros? I always get that when I go to amusement parks!
|
love churros!! there is this store here that is called Fiesta and has food from all over- and they sell churros in their bakery! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I forgot to add Lemon Bars and Apple Crisp or Apple Pie with Ice Cream. YUMMY...oh and a summertime only favorite is a Root Beer Float.

I'm not a big fan of desserts. They always seem to let me know I have a cavity, and they're just TOO sweet for my tastes. But, ice cream is usually OK, and cheesecake too :) My fav ice cream is strawberry :D

Hey, did y'all know that Dryer's is called Edy's up north? Anyone know where all it's Edy's and where Dryer's? In TX, it's Dryer's and when I was in Rhode Island last week it was Edy's, same packaging and logo! Strange. That's why I stick to Blue Bell - The Best Ice Cream in the Country http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif
