The Simpsons

Does anyone love the Simpsons like I do? Ever since I started watching about a month ago (I know, I know, I got into it kinda late!), I've been addicted! I try to tape each re-run and new episode!

It's amazing how each episode cracks me up!!! And makes me smile when I've had a bad day!

My favorite episodes (from the ones that I've seen):

1) When Homer and Flanders go to Vegas, and Homer tries to teach Flanders how to become more Homer-like! haha

2) When Lisa tries to go to the art museum by herself but gets lost.

3) When Marge falls for her French bowling instructor.

4) When Bart is a "genius," but it ends up that he actually cheated on his I.Q. test...

5) The Christmas when Homer doesn't have his Christmas Bonus, and he buys doggy-toys for Maggie, saying that "she'll never know the difference". In the end, he brings home a dog, "Santa's Little Helper," as a present.

6) The episode where Krusty the Clown is accused of armed robbery, but it turns out that his jealous best friend framed him. Bart always believed in him and helped him clear his name.

Do you guys have any faves?? I'm waiting for a Simpsons' Marathon... http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif

My fav is when Homer has to go under the knife. There's this whole dream sequence where he's in "candy land" and starts eating everything in site.

My other fav is the one where Homer ate some chili from a cook-out and ended up hallucinating.

And of course the one where Bart and Lisa corrupted the Flanders children.

moe.ron 07-25-2001 05:52 PM

When homer joined the Stonecutter.

"We Do, We Do"

xok85xo 07-25-2001 06:42 PM

My fave episode is the one with Sherry Bobbins(mary poppins)..Barney singin Margaritaville.."searchin for my long lost shaker of salt...OH! There it is!!"

Kevlar281 07-25-2001 07:28 PM

The Simpsons are great I have a few of their figures on my desk. I have to many favorite episodes to limit it to just one. Did you know that they will be releasing the Simpsons on DVD soon? Starting with season one and then the rest of the seasons in chronological order.

33girl 07-25-2001 09:01 PM

The one where Bart and Milhouse drink the all-syrup squishy and then "let's go crazy Broadway style!!"

Homer, Barney, Principal Skinner & Apu rise to fame & fortune as the "BeSharps."

And any of the episodes featuring Sideshow Bob (Kelsey Grammar) or Troy McClure (Phil Hartman).

nucutiepie 07-25-2001 09:05 PM

I LOOOOOOOOVE THE SIMPSONS!!!!!!!

My all time favorite episode: when they go to the Flanders' beach house, and Homer lights a firework and needs somewhere to toss it - he runs to the fridge, screams "Aaah! the beer!" chucks it into the dishwasher where it explodes, flooding the kitchen. Homer walks off "innocently" whistling and it cuts to Marge resignedly mopping the floor - sosooo funny.

Also the one where Homer is an "outsider" artist.

...Well I can't say which ones are the best but here are some that I never get sick of.

1) Prohibition episode:
Beer Baron: I'll get you beer baron.
Homer in the distance: no you won't.
B: Yes I will -
H: won't.
-> Bart also gets hammerred.

2) The episode when marge's aunt dies and she's talking about how her legend will continue in the car on the way to the funeral.
Then homer's face appears to simulate his thoughts..."yeah legend of the dog-faced woman!"
[Homer out loud] "Hahahahaha, dog faced woman!"

3) Homer works for the supervillan Mr. Scorpio.

4) Duft Gardens, homer and his big sandwich.

5) University episode reunion. "Kappa Gamma Tau, First in pranks last in grades" Yeah they make fun of us a bit, but it's still a good episode.

The Simpsons rock! The Halloween episodes are always the best. My faves are also the one where Marge gets addicted to gambling, the one where Bart gets the microphone and goes on the Flanders kids' radio and pretends to be God, the one where Otto loses his job as the busdriver (he plays Freebird on the guitar!), and the one when Bart takes Grandpa's teeth and swings around on the ceiling fan and can't go see the Itchy & Scratchy movie.

lol! I have to add to my list that episode where the Simpsons went on a trip to Florida or something, at the same time that Spring Break was going on! They showed the Kappa Gamma Taus pulling pranks on the hotel or something like that. It's the episode where Homer went psychotic (he believed the astrology that told him he would die soon), and his shrink ordered him to go on vacation!

Who's Mr. Scorpio??

33girl, or anyone else who can answer this...is SideShow Bob Krusty the Klown's best friend/??? That was an episode last night, where Sideshow Bob framed Krusty for armed robbery!!!

Thrillhouse 07-26-2001 12:37 AM

Uh oh Newbie, you shouldn't have mentioned the simpsons http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I have watched every show including the 137th anniversary special. My favs are the prohibition one, the super bowl episode, and the putt putt golf tournament. I also like the one where Bart and Milhouse sneak into the mall and stay there for a few days.

Homer- Hey we got a postcard from Bart. Sounds like he is having fun on his camping trip.
Marge- Why does it have a picture of the pottery barn on it?

Sideshow Bob was on Krustys show for a long time.

Lil_G 07-26-2001 01:03 AM

Here's a couple more of the best simpsons:

1) The episode where they all fall asleep in church...actually this is probably the best ever.

2) When Kirk and Lue Ann divorce...bart breaks a chair over homer's head when he's taking a bath - goddamn that's funny.

3) As 33Girl said any halloween episode.

4) The Nuclear power plant retreat when homer and mr. burns get trapped by the avalanche.

5) Larry Burns episode.

juniorgrrl 07-26-2001 01:25 AM

I'm a *HUGE* Simpsons fan - have been since they were on the Tracy Ullman show way back in the day. My 11th Birthday was a Simpsons extravaganza - I got everything from PVC figurines to video games. I still have all of it too. For my 21st birthday, my mom got me a serigraph cel featuring 20 characters + the TV (21 figures, for my 21st birthday, get it? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif )

There are too many episodes to pick a favorite one. But there are quotes that come up amongst my friends and I quite often:

"Who wants ice milk? We've got mint and unflavored!" "unflavored for me please" - from the episode when the kids get taken away from Marge and Homer because they are "unfit parents" For some reason, we're always saying that one when we're talking about someone/thing boring.

"Aye, no es bueno" - the bee guy http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

"Poisonfish...poisonfish...Tasty fish!" - from the Sushi episode. Usually comes up when we're talking about a shady restaurant.

"These gloves came free with my toilet brush!" - Dr. Nick Riviera when doing Homer's heart surgery. Someone usually says this one at random...Not sure why...

I cannot wait for the DVD series to be released - all my tapes are getting kinda decrepit after all this time http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

Thrillhouse 07-26-2001 01:41 AM

I also like that one where they go to detroit to visit there uncle and Homer designs that car.

MeezDiscreet 07-26-2001 01:55 AM

i am such a simpson's fan! i too have been watching since the tracy ullman show.

i like the one where the kids are taken from marge and homer and the flander's take care of them...
[homer]: give us the dirt on the flander's
[lisa, i beleive]: well, he keeps a bunch of old paint cans in the garage
[homer]: haha. ol' painty can ned

some more of my favorites are the thelma and louise episode with marge and the new neighbor, when they do battle with shelbyville over the lemon tree (hey! there's a lemon behind that lemon-shaped rock), when they join the cult, AWWW, HELL! I HAVE SO MANY FAVORITES!!!

purpleturtle 07-26-2001 02:37 AM

Okay, you do not even no how much I love the Simpsons. If someones being loud when I am trying to watch it, I make them leave. Like seriously wait outside.

I cannot believe no one mention my fave-
Any episode featuring Ralph Wiggums!!!
-the one where Lisa gives him a valentine

I randomly use any Ralph line-
I choo-choo-choose you, Lisa!!
I live in a drawer
I ate my red crayon, Mommy (to teacher-can't remember her name, help me out) I'm not your mommy, Ralph.

I also randomly use Nelson's laugh.
The Simpsons has become a great bonding experience on my floor!

Peace, Love and Turtles,
Missy

Oh my gosh Purpleturtle, you're so right!!!!

Is he the one who has the perpetual crush on Lisa?? And when Lisa couldn't get a date to a dance (and she didn't want one, but her friends made her feel bad), she made him go with her, but it turned out that he had a date already??? Or is that Milton? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/redface.gif

How the heck could I have forgotten that episode...that is deifnitely one of my faves, if not THE fave!

I'm confused...I wish I started watching the Simpsons earlier! I've missed out on so many episodes (many episodes that you guys talked about - I have no clue as to what you're talking about)!

The Australian one, mate ...

When the Simpsons went to Australia, and the whole continent gets this disease because of Bart!

KSig1102 07-26-2001 09:51 AM

Ah..the Simpsons. I think I have seen every show at least twice.

Mr. Scorpio is who Homer goes to work for and turns out to be a villian straight out of a James Bond movie.

"Awww the Denver Broncos."

Newbie, I think you mean Milhouse. In recent seasons he seems to have a huge crush on Lisa.

"Milhouse! Lower those eyebrows...and the other one."

Best shows (in no order):
1.) Beer Baron
2.) When homer works for Hank Scorpio
3.) Homer and Mel Gibson
4.) Homer, Alec Baldwin, and Kim Basinger
5.) All of the Sideshow Bob shows
I could go on forever...but I will stop there.
2.)

PhiSigMeg 07-26-2001 10:01 AM

I would have to say that one of my all-time favorite episodes, is the one where the Simpsons go to NY. The best part is when Marge, Lisa, and Bart go to see Kicking It!- A Musical Journey through the Betty Ford Center. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

Bart: Wow, when I grow up, I want to be in the Betty Ford Center.

Marge: Better start saving now, its very expensive!

Another good episode is the one where Sideshow Bob runs for Mayor...lol

a few quotes:

"Me fail English? That's unpossible!" - Ralpha Wiggum

"mmmmmmmmm beer" - Homer

"mmmmmmmmm sacrelicious" - homer

"This sounds like rock and/or roll music" - the preacher when bart slips "In a godda davida" into the organ music

"mmmmmmm chocoloate. doh! mmmmmmm chocolate. doh! mmmmmmm chocolate. doh! marge, we need more strawberry, vanilla, and chocolate ice cream." - homer, opens 3 containers of neopolitan ice cream, all of which only have the chocolate eaten.

"Lunchlady Doris, do ye have any grease?"
"Yes, yes we do"
"Well then grease me up woman!" - Willie and lunchlady Doris when the dog gets loose in the vents in the school

"Ha Ha"
"I think I broke my leg"
"I said Ha Ha" - Nelson and Milhouse when milhouse falls off the trampoline (i think)

that's all for now.

Homer Simpson's ode to beer drinking in Do Re Mi Drink: (I cracked up the first time I saw this episode)
DO...the stuff...that buys me beer...
RAY...the guy that sells me beer...
ME...the guy...who drinks the beer....
FAR...a long way to get beer....
SO...I'll have another beer....
LA...I'll have another beer...
TEA...no thanks, I'm drinking beer...
That will bring us back to...(looks into an empty glass)...D'OH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey KSig, doesn't Homer work for Mr. Burns? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/confused.gif Yes, you're right, I did mean Milhouse! I catched an ep last night, and Milhouse was trying to flirt with Lisa! haha!

Thrillhouse 07-28-2001 04:07 AM

Hi newbie. In the Mr. Scorpio episode, Homer transfers to a town that is run by Scorpios company. It is a new job for homer but by the end of the show, Homer goes back to work for burns. It is funny stuff though.

MeezDiscreet 08-07-2001 02:11 AM

*bart and lisa sitting in front of santa's little helper's doghouse*
homer: "t.v. broke?"
bart: "no, there's a badger in there."
homer: "badger my ass, it's probably milhouse"

thetakates 07-30-2002 02:48 PM

I know this is a really old thread, but I was watching a re-run last night and it was the one where Homer gets the heart transplant and the doctor is trying to remember how to make an incision and it shows him at a toga party at Sigma Chi. It was a funny episode even though it showed greeks in a negative light, well college kids in a negative light! :)

One of my favorite episodes though is the one where Bart calls the foreign country and asks which way their toilet flushed! And they were on hold forever, like the whole episode. That cracked me up! And the one where they go to Brazil is pretty funny too.

My absolute fav is the one where they go on Spring Break and Homer sings on stage with Kid Rock. Hilarious! haha

jonsagara 07-30-2002 04:20 PM

Love the Simpsons. Some favorite episodes:

* The nuclear power plant strike:
"Dental plan. Lisa needs braces. Dental plan. Lisa needs braces. Dental plan..."

"Sorry, Mr. Burns, but I don't go in for these backdoor shenanigans. Sure, I'm flattered, maybe even a little curious, but the answer is no!"

* The Lord of the Flies Parody
"Go grapefruit!"
"Go orange!"
"Go banana!"

* The Chili Cookoff
"Wait a minute! Dogs can't speak!"
Bark!
"Damn straight!"

* Halloween episodes
"No tv and no beer makes Homer go something something"

"Television - teacher, mother, secret lover."

Way too many good episodes to list. :D

I can't wait until the full DVD collection comes out. ;)

MY FAVORITE EPISODE IS WHEN HOMER THINKS THAT HE IS DYING AFTER EATING SUSHI. IT WAS HYSTERICAL WHEN HE COMPLETES HIS "THINGS TO DO BEFORE I DIE" LIST.

No one mentioned the Lalapalooza episode! That cracks me up every time.

Duffman is great, too. "Duffman...can't breathe!" My brother says that all the time for no reason.

I loved the one where Bart became friends with the cowboy, and playing cowboys became cool. One of my favorie Ralph quotes was in that: "I'm a gulch!" LOL

DWAlphaGam 07-31-2002 11:40 AM

Homer Simpson is the #2 greatest cartoon character of all time, according to TV Guide. Bugs Bunny beat him to take the #1 spot.
