What cds did you own back than that you are embarrased about now?
C'mon, I know everyone had something in their collection that they wouldn't admit to now. I used to have Kriss Kross, Snow, and MC Hammer. I also had the rock cassette dam yankees and the very first spin doctors tape. I liked a lot of other music back than but had a smaller collection back then.
|
I can defintely beat that...I had Joey Lawrence and MMC...that's pretty embarrasing!
|
I had New Kids On the Block cassettes when I was like 10.
|
Cassettes-New Kids on the Block, Joey Lawrence
CD's- Kriss Kross, Debbie Gibson, Barrio Boys, |
That's right Salt&Pepa, Kriss Kross, I even have this old Billy Joel Cd of my parents that when I was a kid thought was sooo cool to listen to.
|
Presidents of the United States of America, Friends soundtrack, the Eels (remember that song Novacaine for the Soul?), and I am sure many others, but I am trying to blot them from my memory...

I think of the term 'back then' and think tapes instead of cd's. So...what am I embarassed to own...
1. Paula Abdull's tape that had Crush Crush and Vibology on it. That was kinda lame. 2. New Kids on the Block. I swapped that one for my brother's Vanilla Ice tape...which I'm beginning to think was a bum deal. OH WELL. |
OMG- We can not forget Milli Vanlli (sp?) http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
|
Ha...I remember when CDs came in those non earth friendly cardboard cases.
CDs/cassettes I'm embarassed to admit I have:
Then there are those that others may think are embarassing...but I still listen to it to this day! I still have my New Kids on the Block tapes, but I've also bought the Greatest Hits CD. All my Menudo albums have since been upgraded to CD. And who could forget The Simpsons Sing the Blues? [This message has been edited by OohTeenyWahine (edited July 31, 2001).] |

(with tears of shame) I actually owned . . . and bought . . . a Vanilla Ice CD. I feel only marginally better that Hootie had one also.
|
I can beat you all....
-Bobby Brown -& for some reason I was obsessed w/ Kris Kross... I owned their music videos and had posters, etc... and worst of all... it's not so bad when you buy the first album w/ 'jump, jump' but i actually bought their sophomore attempt 'the bomb'... and it was so awful http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif -skee-lo -white lion -all of the mc hammer stuff... i even had some pants like him http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif how scary is that it just gets worse and worse http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif sarah |
Who could forget the Nelson twins(?). They had long blonde hair- I don't even remember what they sang. For a stocking stuffer I got their tape when I was 9 or so and I had no idea who they were.

This is a funny topic--I actually have a shoebox of CD's that I will likely never listen to again, but I haven't figured out what to do with them yet. I suppose I could try to sell them back to a CD swap store, but maybe no one will take them back. Here goes: --Us3: Cantaloop is still a great song, but that's the only reason why I bought this disc, and it's the only song I ever listened to off it. --A 311 album that I listened to for about 10 minutes on the way home from the store and never listened to again. Pretty much all of their songs sound the same. I also had Damn Yankees' self-titled album on CD..."High Enough" is a classic. On tape, I had "To the Extreme" by Vanilla Ice and 2 Live Crew's "Nasty as they Wanna Be." Great stuff when you're 15. |
New Kids on the block-xmas album, the first one, and hangin tough
Paula Abdul- forever your girl(which ijust bought used on cd last year for like, $5) and vibeology Color me Badd Nelson-After the rain(I was in love with these guys!) I was such a fabulous kid http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif |
I don't know who the artist was, but I had the tape "Wiggle it, just a little bit...I wanna see you wiggle it." I also had just about everyone mentioned already
|
I had a New Kids on the Block video tape with their music videos on it, and a t-shirt that I wore as a nightgown (when I was 6). They were my first "band crush". LOL! Oh yeah, I even had the trading cards with their faces on them!
I had the TLC tape with "Creep" and "Waterfalls" and "Red Light Special" on it that I listened to constantly in 7th grade. I borrowed the Vanilla Ice tape from a friend that had "Ice, Ice Baby" on it. LMAO! I also had both Spice Girls CDs (and a Barbie doll of Ginger), both Titanic Soundtracks (and the videos---not to mention a million posters and a website of Leonardo!). Oh yeah, the first CD I ever had was one I won from a radio contest, and I'd never even heard of the group. One of the songs they sang was "Mary Moon". Anyone know who that is/was? LOL!!! ------------------ ***Tinkerbell*** ~~~Don't worry, be happy!~~~ |
I totally forgot Ace of Base, Lisa Loeb's Nine Stories, and Aqua's Barbie Girl. LMAO!
I used to LOVE the "Hey, Mickey, you're so fine!" (although I think it came out before 1983 when I was born?) I watched the re-runs of it anyhow. And I watched the M.C. Hammer video, the Thriller video (that came out the year I was born), etc. ------------------ ***Tinkerbell*** ~~~Don't worry, be happy!~~~ |

I may have a few CD's that others consider lame, but I enjoy. However, I think I have a Ricky Martin and a Hootie CD around here. |

Nelson was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw this thread...I'm shocked others remember them too! Now I will have "Love and Affection" in my head all day.
However, I can beat you all! I had the "New Monkees" CD. http://www.monkeegirl.com/nnm/80snewmonkees.jpg Wow. I can't believe I confessed to that...yes, I even watched the show for the one season it was on. Terrible. |
You win. I don't know how that can be topped.
