Your Easter Plans

What will you do? The usual or will you try something new?

We found a new activity last year that we hope to continue, along with the other staples! Target had these glow-in-the-dark plastic eggs...they had a fluorescent strip around them and several tiny flashlights came with them. We had an Easter Eve egg hunt with all these college and high school students stampeding aorund the lawn in the dark for the prizes of chocolate bunnies. This year, one of the daughters has found solid-colored glowing eggs so the hunt will be bigger.

I'm wrestling with what to do - I'm in the middle of packing, I'm going to Houston the week before, and will return home to the chaos on Saturday. I've got to find the Easter box first - with the baskets, etc. I love the glow-in-the-dark idea, though.

ARRRRGGGGHHHHH!

We will go to my husband's parents' for dinner. The kids are with their mother this Easter but I'm going to make all three of them Easter baskets anyway for when they do come over :)

My sister is coming to town!!!!! :D :D :D :D

Catholic church, Protestant church, family lunch with boyfriend's family, family dinner with my family, food coma.

Stay up all night doing an Easter vigil, then go to the oldest Lutheran Church in Idaho (predates statehood) for sunrise worship. Then go back to town for brunch, take nap, research/work then pass out.

Going home for mom's birthday then back to work on Sunday.

Just a reminder if you have cats-Easter Lilies are very toxic, even the pollen so I would avoid having these plants around if you have a cat.

Church>Country Club brunch>Golf>Cocktails at club>family time>dinner>cocktails

ILs with the hub and the kid as my dad is going to the NCAA Wrestling tourney and mom is hanging with her parents.

Early church, breakfast at the church, home for naps, lunch, nap again, Easter baskets, drive 3 hours home.

Beryana 03-10-2008 04:57 PM

I have to work all morning (gotta love time and a half!) and then over to Mom and Dad's for lunch with the family - though I may be there only for leftovers, but that's okay too.

Acolyte duty for three services, lunch, nap. End of spring break for the college students, so they'll do laundry and go back to school (returning from the beach on Saturday). Packing for youngest's weeklong trip to Washington DC.

I usually cook but may make reservations at the club this year. Guess I'd better decide soon.:)

Chocolate bunnies, chocolate bunnies, jellybeans. And church in there somewhere. But mainly, chocolate bunnies. And jellybeans.

carnation 03-10-2008 08:11 PM

Definitely. I am going to snarf many chocolate bunnies.

SWTXBelle 03-10-2008 08:31 PM

Cadbury chocolate eggs. Who loves the chocolate? Everyone loves the chocolate.

Mine involves jellybeans and sleep.

^^^Only if they hold less than 3 oz. of creamy filling and fit in a ziploc bag.

This will be the first year to do Easter Eggs with our 15 month old... not sure how that will go, but it should be somewhat entertaining.

Back in my single days I lived in Dallas. So, it was church, then out to the Ballpark for a Ranger game, hot dog and a beer.

My how things have changed.

summer_gphib 03-10-2008 09:41 PM

Hubby and I love to dye Easter Eggs, even if we don't have kids! :p But this year we'll be moving! :D

SWTXBelle 03-10-2008 09:42 PM

Oooo . . .when is your house going to be ready, Summer?

summer_gphib 03-10-2008 09:52 PM

We closed on it today!! :D I'm so happy, but now the real work begins! *LOL* Good thing we've paid rent through March 31. We're going to need the time! :D

This year will be church, brunch, neighborhood easter egg hunt (I may have to get some of these glow-in-the-dark eggs express mailed to me for the older kids; that'd be a hoot!), eating many reece's peanut butter eggs and jelly-bellies, nap, more eating, more egg-hiding.
