CMTs My Big Redneck Wedding

Have any of you watched this show? There was a marathon on this weekend. I was  :D and :rotflmao: at some of it.

I was just floored at this guy urinating his fiancee's name in the road. They used beer cans to hold their floral arrangements...WOW!

WOW and SPEECHLESS!

I watched one ep. They had a Beer Chugging Camel at the reception.

I watched that last weekend...

Priceless:

1. Catching a greased pig for 10 dollars
2. Camoflauge veil and 'tux'
3. Dumpster diving for your bride's gift
4. Nude photos on horseback (especially when your breasts look like saddlebags...)
5. Renting a wedding dress costume....

just dammit wow...

I gotta say....they all look like they are having fun and making no pretense about who they are :). I give them credit for that.

I can't tell you the number of families weddings I have been to that are all "stuffed shirt" only to have someone drink way too much and a fist fight break out :). I shall call them "stealth rednecks" from now on ;).

the camo-theme was fantastic. i love this show.

I'm so pleased to see that they stream the full-length episodes on the website. First chunk of time I get, I'm diving in. :)

"Aw honey, I wanted a gun. And it's pink!" :D

How about the groom getting his bride's gift out of the claw machine and getting married in the arcade of the flea market. It's a nice break from Platinum Weddings, Bridezilla, and Rich Bride, Poor Bride!

Since you brought up other wedding shows, Whose Wedding is it Anyway premieres tonight. ETA: on the Style network 7 or 8 CT.

Yeah, I saw that. Last night 4 episodes ran. One had the bride and groom arriving in beat up cars.

These people all seem to love MUD.

Favorite quote ever from this show..

"Baby, you look gooder than a new pair of mud tires." I'm still trying to figure out a way to work that into a conversation.

I LOVE this show!!! I stumbled on it one night and got hooked! It's like each moment gets more outrageous than the next! I keep yelling "No, no!! They are not doing that, no!!!" at the t.v.

But I can't look away.

FSUZeta 03-05-2008 09:20 AM

do these folks get paid to be on the show or does the show pick up the tab for the wedding? i watched one episode and it just seemed so deliberate-like they were trying to be what their idea of redneck is.

BuckeyeTriDelta 03-05-2008 08:54 PM

I love this show. It takes some of the stress off of wedding planning my own.

The fact that many of them had missing and/or rotting teeth was enough to make me think they were rednecks. I would also say someone's mother standing outside the trailer drinking beer and screaming "yeeee hawww" or something similar would qualify. If they are trying to be redneck, I think they are succeeding.

Educatingblue 03-09-2008 12:52 PM

OMG this is one of my new favorite shows!!!:D

i should have explained myself better. even rednecks know that most brides wear a dressy dress and most grooms at least a shirt, pants and tie . most people don't have cow pie thowing contests or greased pig contests, serve rc cola, moon pies or ding dongs at the reception. that is what i meant by contrived. it appeared to me that they were doing whatever they thought they had to do to get on tv.

I watched this show for the first time, and the "Mud" episode is the one I saw. I was floored. The bride actually had on a white wedding dress in the middle of all that mud  And the tire wedding cake she attempted to do herself.... :( Speechless

The show is a caricature of the "ideal redneck."

:(
