A Raisin in the Sun: Anyone watching?

It started at the top of the hour.

I'm watching it right now...

I'm DVR'ing it so I can fast forward thru the commercials!:)

I will probably watch it this weekend when I have more time to just sit and watch!

I saw a free screening in December. It was excellent.

It starts in a few hours here on the west coast. I will not be watching but my mom will.

I am too. Wouldn't it be nice if we could record shows without commercials? I started watching, but then the phone started ringing. :smirk:

I am watching. So far, I am enjoying it.

Encore!

I watched it and I must say I was really dissapointed in Sean's performance. In all of the emotional scenes, it looked like he was going to laugh. I thought the movie itself was excellent. I want to see the original movie now because I was very intrigued by the storyline. Just curious as to how the other cast portrayed their characters. Claire and Sanaa were oustanding as usual. :) Even the guy from Save the Last Dance was good. All of the actors were great... except you know who. Am I the only one who thought he could have been better?

^^^You're not the only one. The movie itself was great, but Diddy looked so out of place, like he just didn't belong in the movie. I was not impressed with his performance at all.

I thought he wanted to laugh as well. Even John Stamos (from the home owners association) did well.

As was mentioned before, Diddy and Bad Boy brought it to TV, so why wouldn't he recreate the role he played on Broadway.

Interesting because Diddy got really great reviews when they performed on stage. House of Payne has taught us all that stage acting is not the same as camera acting.

House of Payne has taught us the difference when it comes stage acting, camera acting and OVER acting.

Yes I watched and Soror is an amazing actress. I was very pleased with Sean Combs as well. The story had me a little confused, but interested the whole time.

So TRUE!!!

I, too, was disappointed in Sean's performance...it just wasn't all that great, although I think the movie as a whole was very well done.

I never had any high expectations of Diddy's performance anyway, so that saved me the heartache of having to be upset with him, lol.

Everyone else did a magnificent job!!

The original is EXCELLENT, I watched it and it was good, I wasn't expecting much from Sean combs as well, but like Sybil said on Tom Joyner the next day hopefully like Sean got a younger generation into coming to see the play, hopefully he did that for the TV show as well...J. Anthony had me cracking up though, he was like Puff was horrible and he can't act and when he lost that money, the full emotion of it wasn't there....
