Ok, I'm in too! I know, what's a Penn Stater doing in a college basketball pool, right?!? Like we know anything about bball in Happy Valley (men's anyway). Luckily, I grew up with it and married into it.

Bring on the madness.

ZTABullwinkle 02-26-2008 02:51 PM

Never mind...I figured it out...Guess I am officially in!

I'm a Nit too and I've been running this pool since 2005. It is fathomable.

SthrnZeta 03-12-2008 12:46 AM

I would just like to throw out there that my GEORGE MASON PATRIOTS WON THE CAA CHAMPIONSHIP! I am so excited - let the dance begin!!! Could it be - we will make it into the tourney again this year? Will I have another SI cover to frame and hang up...??? Please God, let us be the Cinderella story again this year!

pirate00 03-14-2008 06:09 PM

You all know who I've picked to win it all..

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi...UNC_Ramses.jpg I mean, lets not be foolish

Sadfly 03-14-2008 06:11 PM

I want my teams to win!!

AGDLynn 03-16-2008 09:43 PM

What the heck is an Xavier? ;)

I think this year's tournament is really wide open to who will win it. All four of the number 1 seeds have been showing vulnerability late in the season. It is going to be a fun ride!

I'm really relieved and happy for Coach Felton probably more than anything. But yay for the dawgs.

DolphinChicaDDD 03-16-2008 11:51 PM

I did my bracket! I don't like that I have all 1 and 2 seeds in my final 4. Its highly unusual for me...but I can't help it if the teams I like did well this year!

sageofages 03-17-2008 12:52 AM

I am just so excited that the Drake Bulldogs made it to the NCAA!!! They have had an UNBELIEVABLY exciting year!!!

So much buzz in Des Moines!

Yes, and I hope it's as fun, if not more so, than the 2006 ride GMU had ;) I'm soooo excited that we're back in the dance this year! :D GOOOOO Patriots!!!

KatieKate1244 03-17-2008 11:51 AM

I'm in as well.

NutBrnHair 03-17-2008 12:44 PM

Go Tennessee!

Go Memphis!

(But I picked Carolina to win it all!)

AGDLynn 03-17-2008 06:43 PM

Okay, UGA plays the Musketeers.

Hopefully only 3 of them will show up.;)

nittanyalum 03-18-2008 01:30 PM

I just went to enter my bracket and saw this article on the yahoo sports main page:

Study: Top schools in tournament aren’t tops in classroom

North Carolina was the only school among the four No. 1 seeds in the NCAA men’s tournament to graduate at least 50 percent of its players.

A report released Monday found 86 percent of Tar Heels men’s players earned diplomas during a six-year period. The other top seeds were far worse: 45 percent at Kansas and 40 percent at UCLA and Memphis.

Not to take this away from UNC, but I will always remember Coach K. refusing to hang an ACC championship banner in Cameron Indoor Stadium until Abdlenaby graduated. I like that at Duke (and it seems UNC) the majority of the players actually get the degree! The NBA is only successful to a small number.

ZTABullwinkle 03-18-2008 05:20 PM

Random question: do we have to pick all the way through to a winner in the brackets? Or are we just picking the first round winners right now?

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you need to pick all the way through. The site said to complete your bracket before tipoff of the first game on Thurs.

Thanks! I did actually pick all the way through. I picked a couple of upsets, but we will see. I can't wait for March madness to start!

em_adpi 03-18-2008 11:43 PM

I'm in!!! That's three challenges with one bracket... if I picked 'em right, I could win big... :)

deadbear80 03-19-2008 08:25 AM

You DO need to pick all the way through. It does not go Round by Round.

And remember you need to do it all by the time of tipoff on Thursday!

I had a really good run last year (7/8, 4/4, 2/2, and the National Champion) that resulted in me being the GC Chamption. I doubt it'll happen again--but I'm still hoping :).

Good luck to everyone :)

Yeah, the link doesn't work in its full form until you're signed up in the group, I found that out the hard way too.

So click the link, then go up into your address line and backspace all the way back to just the base yahoosports address (get rid of the group #, etc.). Then when you get to the main page, click to join a group, then give the group #, password, etc. Once you're in the group, you can go back to just clicking the link & getting right in.

NutBrnHair 03-20-2008 02:00 PM

Let the games begin!

nittanyalum 03-20-2008 02:34 PM

CBS and the NCAA are streaming all the games online for free: http://www.ncaasports.com/mmod
