Whats the most exciting thing to happen to you this year?

Just want to know what everyone's most exciting moment has been this year:

Mine:
-working as a reporter for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch
-meeting Kel from Survivor

Soon to be: Visiting Phoenix and LA!

2. Getting initiated into Delta Gamma! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

3. Seeing "Ben Covington" (Scott Speedman from Felicity) walking down Yonge Street in Toronto yesterday!

I met, partied with (and hugged and kissed) Jon Bon Jovi. And won $500 at blackjack the same night. (Vegas, obviously.)

Then, two months later, getting a message relayed thru friend that took me to concert (his agent) that Jon says HI. Apparently Jon told my friend to make sure he said Hi to me and that then went on to say that it was great to meet me, that I was really cool and pretty.

I almost DIED. Still whenever I think of it, I'm like HE REMEMBERED ME. HE REMEMBERED ME TWO MONTHS LATER. I made an impression on JBJ. haha It cracks me up.

And I told my friend, you make sure to say HI right back. He laughed and was all I'm so glad I can be the messenger between you two.

And, having a major talent agency review my screenplay and get AMAZING feedback, that was pretty great too.

And how could I ever forget being one of 50-75 people at a private, acoustic Dave Matthews performance in Las Vegas.

Great topic http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif!

I almost died and went to heaven http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif, when I met one of my most fave players ever, Shawn Estes, pitcher of the San Francisco Giants. I met him like 2 weeks ago!!! He is one of the hottest, and one of the nicest, professional athletes I have ever met!!!! I was in shock for awhile http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif.

The other thing that's pretty cool is that my cousin won 2 tickets to go to Vegas. He chose to bring me, which I find pretty damned cool!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

The most exciting by far:

Attending AGD's Convention in Atlanta last week and meeting 600+ of my AGD sisters for the first time.

-Getting back together with my ex-boyfriend. We've know each other since 93. Dated for 3 months. Broke up in Dec 94. Been the best of friends the whole time and we just got back together last week

-Celebrating me 29th birthday on Friday

-Moving to Dallas from Louisiana about 3 weeks ago

I'm a science major, so basically what scientists do is ask for money from people, and if they get it, do research. Well, this spring I applied for my first grant, and I actually got it! Now I'm doing NASA-funded research. (I'm so getting into the grad school of my choice!) That, and being elected to exec in my sorority.

Yes, I had to leave LSU. I ran out of aid money. I've always wanted to live in Texas and now I am. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif It seems like all a dream, though. It's going to be werid not being in school in August

Oh man...I'm so jealous. I've got a huge Bon Jovi fetish. My brother is constantly making fun of me for it...

I guess the most exciting thing to happen to me this year (besides getting my bid, of course http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif) was....um....uh...well... finally getting rid of my evil roommate? Getting two tickets within a week of each other? Finally getting to fly first-class on an airplane? Hmmm...try asking again next year. Maybe something really exciting will happen by then.

I interned with Senator John Breaux from Louisiana. Where do you work?

Miami1839 07-14-2001 11:18 PM

The most exciting thing for me was landing my current job. I was very proud about how I attained it. I went online(washingtonjobs.com) and applied for this position with a major bank. I heard back from them and then interviewed a week later with two people. I did really well with both HR people however I had no direct banking experience. So, I took specific skills that I had done in other jobs to demonstrate my ability. A week later I got the job and was so excited. Its been three months and I'm doing really well there. I've never done a finance job, only took one finance related course, but its really cool that I took on something totally new and I'm excelling. Of course this is all the beginning and we'll see where it leads. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif My mom told me that my grandfather(her father) was the president of my company at one time. I sort of find it hard to believe and I havent seen any references proving. But I guess you never know http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I think it would be really cool if we all did a lunch or happy hour. At least if everyone was up for the idea. I work in Tysons Corner myself pretty close to the mall.

That's cool! I would love to intern for one of VA's senators next summer. I work on the other side of the aisle. I'm working at the Republican National Committee, which has been great so far. Its always nice to hear from other people interested in politics!

Has our idea died?

FYI: Sen. John Warner(R) Virginia is a brother of mine. Also, Sen. Richard G. Lugar (R) Indiana.

Hootie 07-28-2001 01:56 AM

Well I've undergone a lot of changes this past year. Probably the most exciting thing to happen to me was going to Reno, NV for Spring Break. Oh...yeah and turning 21. LOL.
Otherwise I could also rank doing the rip cord and getting my belly button pierced at the top too.
