Greekchat-aholics....you know you're addicted when...

you check this thing even on a Saturday night! lol http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif No offense to anyone who does this cuz I'm one of those people!
Anyway, I know I'm not the only one out there to admit I'm a greekchat-aholic! I check this thing WAY too often but I don't care! It's too much fun! So if you're addicted, c'mon and introduce yourself to the group.

Hi, I'm ZChi4Life, and I'm addicted to Greekchat.com http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Hi, I'm ZChi4Life, and I'm addicted to Greekchat.com http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Hi, My name is prospectiverushee and I'm a greekchat-aholic. I thought I had thinngs under control. I'd post about once a day and would ocassionally drop by a see what was going on. I even managed to go a couple of days without checking out the boards at all. (pauses to wipe the tears) But once I made senior member, well things just started getting out of control. I'm checking the boards 3 and 4 times a day, staying on the board hours at a time. It's gotten so bad that I check Greekchat before I check my email. My friends and family don't know about my addiction cause I've managed to keep this site hidden from them. But my boss is starting to suspect something. Everyday, when I take my break I go straight to the internet(I work in a library) and got straight to this site. And because I get so caught up in the daily post I lost track of time causing me to get back to work late.

I don't know what to do anyone.... http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Serenity 08-13-2000 09:02 AM

My name is Serenity, and I'm a GreekChat addict. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif

I am returning to work in less than two weeks. I was trying to quit cold turkey. But I have now decided to taper off. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/rolleyes.gif

I don't have "easy" access to the internet at work. So, I will have to limit myself to once a day (when I come home from work). With the busy load I have during the school year, I will be lucky to get on once a day.

Think of me often.... http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

We are so funny! I don't feel bad now. As you all can see, I just joined like 7 days ago, now I'm a moderator! So now I'm on this even more! LOL! I think once school starts I'll probably won't be on as much...Yeah RIGHT! Who am I kidding, I'm an email-aholic so I know I'll be on this too! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

blu_theatrics 08-13-2000 05:38 PM

I think I can topp all of you.. I don't have a computer at home, because I just use the one at work constantly. Well now thta I have qiut my job (I love that sentence, just let me say it one more time....Now that I have qiut my job) Ok but back to the point

I have went out and bought a computer (with my unemployed ass http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif) so that I can still be on here reguraly.

I even tried to justify it, by saying that since I am a moderator, it is my job to stay on here as much as possible

I think I need REAL help

mwedzi 08-14-2000 08:57 AM

Wow, I think this is serious. We are in a bad way here. I think this affliction affects only women. Why is that?

I, too, go to public computer rooms here and pay (not much, but still) by the hour to use the computer, make my sorority's homepage (I also must write html by hand), occasionally chat, but most importantly, check m email and read this site.

If I've said something humorous, I find myself hoping throughout the day that someone has noticed. If I've said something possible offensive, I prepare myself with responses in case anyone responds to my posts in anger. I feel all the emotions of life here: happiness, anger, sadness.

How can I live without greek chat? I'm afraid if I stop now, I'll go through withdrawl symptoms. Maybe my index finger will keep twitching, wanting to "click" on various links . . .

I know that's a lot right?! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Well the thing is that I don't always reply to everything. But I'm ALWAYS on here just looking around and reading stuff. That's the thing. I just get so curious to what other people are saying or how others respond to other people. So I know that I don't respond a lot, (I just joined too) but I'm ALWAYS on here reading. So I'm an addict nonetheless. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

my name is etienne and i'm a greekchat-aholic.

i first came on to get an answer to ONE question. just one. i don't even remember what that question WAS> since that time, i've been enveloped in conversations about barbie, locs, rush, pledges and things like the man show. *go juggies!*

i have made many internet friends throughout my tenure here and i'm sure it will only get worse *or better??* as i enter into my senior year. people like heatherhm1981, preppie, sexy mocha, blu_theatrics and others have been my only contact with the outside world on those rainy days off. i only hope that one day i will recover...

Well, I've been lurking around here all summer pretty much. Why have I rarely posted? I don't know. I guess I was just more interested in reading everything, finding information.

But lately, I've gotten post-happy, so I'm replying to stuff.

My name is NoLongerGreek, and I am quite obviously a greekchat-aholic.

I say this is obvious because I was on here while I was greek, and I've managed to somewhat break the ties to my org., but I can't cut the greechat cord. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/redface.gif

ZChi4Life 08-15-2000 03:21 PM

Ok, I know I'm definitely a GC-aholic cuz I just came home from the campus computer lab where I checked GC and now I'm home checking it AGAIN....10 min. later! Help!!!

lifesaver 08-15-2000 05:10 PM

Help.

Please someone help me.

I am a greek-chatholic.

I don't post often, but am always here, lurking. I am a graphic artist, so I have an excuse to always be at my computer "working". It shouldn't take three weeks to design a billboard, should it? My boss once threatened to take away my internet. I threatened to quit. I won. I still have the internet. Thank god they don't monitor my web usage here. I'd be fired for sure.

angel_kak 01-01-2001 10:54 PM

Please tell me something I don't know...I just starting using this a week ago, and I'm already a greek-chataholic.

Oh well, I guess I'll live!

Hi, I'm ZChi4Life, and I'm addicted to Greekchat.com http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif[/B][/QUOTE]

Last week, when Greek Chat was down for the day... I started to get the shakes but then went to Followers and found other greek chatters going thru the same thing! The only problem is the other site is so hard to follow so it did not satisfy my craving! I guess I am addicted too!

Hello,

I'm Jazbri and I too am a GC-aholic. What's more pathetic is that I am not Greek, nor will I ever reach those heights; yet- I find all this stuff fascinating.

I too submit posts and wait in trepidation to be slammed on what I post. I desperately wait for someone to find a shared experience in my reply or if I am really lucky-- I get a LMAO!!!

Pathetic. I'm down to three times a day... My only prayer is that the site doesn't go down again for a day. Who in the hell would I talk to?

MIDWESTDIVA 01-03-2001 04:47 PM

Hi, my name is Midwestdiva, and I too am a Greekchataholic. At first it was something I checked once in a while, reading silently. Then one day, I decided to register. My life has changed drastically since that day. I don't have a computer at home, so I log on at work and on my days off I go over to my relatives homes that have computers, or even to the library. On the average day, I will check in at least 5-7 times, going from forum to forum, then to check my email. I even find myself discussing some of the threads here with my greek friends in the real world. They're getting to the point where they ask me if there were any interesting discussions here. I also get disappointed when I check GC on the weekends and there aren't many new posts to read through. As if people have better things to do on the weekend than come to Greekchat. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

ZChi4Life 01-03-2001 07:54 PM

hello,
I started this thread and I'd just like to say that I am STILL addicted to GreekChat. I don't really post as much as I used to, but I still log on about 3-4 times a day! I just love being on GreekChat!

Midwestdiva--
I share these threads w/ my friends too! But unfortunately, some of them think I'm kind of a dork for being on here so much. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif
But that's ok, I will always love GC and our little community!...aaaahhh can't ya just feel the love?! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Hi, my name is parrotthead,
At first I started coming and reading because I was thinking about going greek, and I even was bold enough to start a topic, asking some questions that I had, Now, after having been home for four weeks for break, Ive found that its out of control, I get on and just read and read and read.,lol

Rhoyal Blue_22 01-28-2001 06:12 PM

Ok, I must admit, I am a greekchat-aholic as well. No matter what my goal is, once I get on the computer, I must stop by and see what's going on. Even though I have not met any of you that chat, I feel like I know you all. How scary is that http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Okay, I only discovered this site a few days ago and am already an addict! I work at a pretty relaxed place and I spend a lot of time on the internet. Today, this is alreayd about my 5th or 6th time checking out different boards! But, it's so much fun to connect with people! However, I don't have cable modem at home, so luckily, I only use my valuable work time to check out the site.

SilverBlueAngel 02-03-2001 01:04 AM

I just found this site today. It's great reading about Greeks everywhere. At my small college there are only 5 frats and 2 sorors. I don't feel so isolated now! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

You know you are addicted when..... you make greekchat your homepage. Yes its true, as of yesterday i said "forget yahoo! im going to GC". I didnt ever really use yahoo on a daily basis- but i DO check greekchat everyday- or atleast i try. Its so much more convenient to open up the internet with this so i can get to it faster http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

How addicted am I???? I am dreaming about you people!!!!

I have really (REALLY) intense and long drawn out detailed dreams -- the kind where you wake up exhausted -- well here's my greekchat nightmare --- I don't have any clue where this all came from....

Well, we were all living in this one section of town (a big city somewhere) in like our own community apartments or whatever. Well we realized that we had a stalker lurking after us on GC, and we were trying to rat him out. So we devised this big plan, and we decided we'd have to let him come to us so we could turn him over to the cops. Well somehow he figured it out, and he kidnapped AKA2D and took off with her, but none of us knew it. So when ZetaAce realized what had happened, she called an emergency meeting so we could go get her back. We all had certain places we were supposed to go hang out and search for her - well I ended up at the mall (surprise surprise) and all this stuff kept happening (like I couldn't get off the 2nd floor) and even though I could see the bad guy on the floors above and below me, I couldnt't get off the 2nd floor. Kevin you were there with me trying to figure out how to get up there, and Carnation, you were checking the pet stores out and buying dog food http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Anyway -- in the end, we all worked together and AKA2D was returned safely -- its so funny because you were all (the regulars that is) there -- I just wish I could remember how I pictured you all in the dream. Why do I feel like Dorothy at the end of the Wizard of Oz when she was trying to tell everyone they were in her dream http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Weird huh! Oh yeah, Lifesaver, oddly enough - you were driving the car at the end when Carnation was unloading all the dog food.

I am telling you guys - you were ALL in the dream - I didn't remember all of your screen names, but the people I chat with most were all there!

Hi. I'm Amy and I too am a greek chat a holic. Thing is, my Greek days are 10 (?!) years behind me... I signed on last week when I realized my 10 year college reunion was coming up and got all nostalgic (and a bit freaked out, how is it possible that I am that OLD? ha ha)... and now, well...

Me, couch, laptop, ordering take out, cause I spent all weekend reading everything on these boards.

Sad. sad. sad.
