Get Smart: The Movie!

Is anyone else excited about this movie????

Its time to GET SMART!!!!

Steve Carrell is perfect for this role!!!!

LaneSig 02-15-2008 03:26 PM

That was hilarious. Anne Hathaway looks so beautiful - my crush on her grows even more.

Looks like fun. I like Steve, and I love Anne. I'm glad to see she's been growing out of those "Princess Diaries" type movies and on to bigger roles !

It was a really fun show when it first aired and all the gadgets were totally new and inventive. Some of them, you see today. Don Adams will always be Maxwell Smart to me!

I saw it the other night! I loved it! I loved the re-vamped Cone of silence and the shoe phone!

breathesgelatin 06-23-2008 02:00 AM

Saw it... it was good, if a tad cheesy.

It was so awesome! I loved it, it was the perfect update to the show. I don't think Anne was true to the original 99, but she did well in making her modernized. Stever left Max in his usual awkwardness and that was the most important to me. Half an hour into it, I thought "Man, I'm getting this the day it comes out on DVD." I rarely buy movies ever, so that tells you what a big deal it is. The end twist was great and (highlight for the spoiler) I loved seeing Max and 99 get together the way I wanted them to in the series. I never saw the series end, so they may have and I didn't know, but I feel like I've waited years for that to happen!

loved it

I loved this movie. i loved the TV show on nick at night, but the movie was great!!. I really liked agent 99 in the movie, the character was very strong and an perfect agent. I really actually liked Steve carrels Max better than the tv show max. I always wondered in the show why an agent like him would be allowed to be an agent and i think the movie did a great job of enplaining that in the story line. I too am planning on getting the movie when it comes out and I really hope that there are sequels so we can continue to enjoy the storyline.

Bye the way, without spoiling the movie did anyone notice how many of the origianal cast made appreances in the movie. i noticed one, but was wondering if there were others.

Barbara Feldon, the original 99, is a Kappa from Carnegie Mellon-Delta Xi chapter. :)

I caught one, and it made me laugh quite a bit! I could tell that not many people caught it, but I grew up watching re-runs of that show! I will wait a bit to post a spolier about who it was...

Did anyone catch any others?

Also did anyone catch who Agent 13 was? Or understand it? Funny cameo, but the actor had no connection to the original series that I know of so I was a little like, huh?

Well, he was played by Bill Murray. According to my hubby (I barely remember repeats of the original show) there was a bit of a running gag with Agent 13 hiding. I guess I need to get the show from Netflix.

I loved the movie, btw! And I'm quite picky about my movies.

I barely went to see the movie! lol. I really liked it! To answer your question Agent 13 was a pretty regular Agent on the show....i'm not sure that he was in every episode though. The thing with Agent 13 was that he was always sent to hide in wierd places. I can recall one episode where 13 was hiding in one of the blue mail boxes.

So that is why he was sent to hide in the tree.

My boyfriend made me go see it, and to my surprise I really enjoyed it. I LOVED the show as a child, but just had low expectations for the movie, but like I said, I ended up liking it. :)
