Greek Chat--we need your prayers!
Okay, y'all, I'm going to post a request here--I've never seen one like it but we need your help! Today the courts in another state will decide who gets to adopt 3 little girls. We just found out we're finalists; the lawyer likes us but the state just wants to give them to the grandmother across the country. Now the state had decided months ago that the grandmother wasn't a fit parent so I don't understand it...but this kind of thing is not uncommon in adoption.
Please, GCers, pray with us that we will get these little girls! They need a home so much and we would love and cherish them! |
Carnation! Just wanted to wish you the best of luck and let you know that my prayers are with you and your family. I know everything will turn out fine for you! : http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

My prayers are with you Carnation! Best of luck. I hope the court sees that you have proven to be a very loving person and a wonderful mother. Please let me know when we have three new legacies!

I just said a prayer to St. Jude. Will complete this with a prayer to Mary, the greatest Mother of all times.

God bless you all! We're waiting by the phone and hope to hear today but there's no guarantee of that.

You will absolutely be in my prayers! I can only imagine how much stress you must be feeling now. Good luck! |
Carnation-
What a wonderful thing for you, your husband and family to do; adopt. I will pray for you and hope the outcome is as you would want. I just know you would make such loving and supportive parents for the girls...you already are to your own children. Let us know asap. Hootie |

I've often thought that after I get married I will adopt a child. So many children need homes, I would love to help out even just one! Carnation, you are a true "angel" http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif |
You are the greatest. My thoughts are with you.

I'll be keeping you in my thoughts!

Car- I am sending you all the best and saying many prayers for your family. I so truely admire you and your family, to love unselfishly so many kids (12 right?) and still have room to love more. Ya'll are god's people, doing god's work. I know you and your husband have had to sacrifice to make your home a home for so many deserving children. I hope that someday I am able to provide half the love and dedication to my family that you so obviously provide to yours. You rock. You are an inspiration. I am sure it will work out, but remember, "not MY will, but THY will."
All my love- lifesaver |
Carnation, I wish you the best of luck! You have the biggest heart! We are all pulling for you! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Dear Greekchatter friends,
Thank you so much for your incredible support. My husband was amazed when he saw all the wonderful notes above. We received a call that the DHR told the lawyer that they had decided to place the girls with a grandmother who lives several thousand miles away, even though they had declared her unfit to take them a few months ago. Knowing her background, our lawyer is horrified but our hands are tied. In adoption, things like this happen-especially when you are dealing with the DHR-but it's still awful to see children go from one bad situation to another and you can only pray that they'll be okay. So--we pray that the 3 little girls will somehow thrive and also that some more little girls will come our way...someone we can love and cherish. |
I'm so sorry carnation. I will be praying for your family as well as for the little girls.
|
Carnation,
Those little girls will grow up knowing that someone loved and cared for them enough to put up a fight. I admire you for your fortitude, generosity, and compassion. If the world had more parents like you, we would be living in a much better world. God bless you and keep you in the palm of His hand. |
How sad. I wish you and your husband the best of luck in the future. My mother's friend has been married for 19 years this June. They had been trying to adopt for years. They tried everything, even adopting Bosnian war orphans. Finally, 10 months ago, they adopted new born Amanda, and I have never seen parents more in love with a baby. It worked out for them, and I am sure it will work out for you. Just keep praying.

Any word yet.

Oops. I didn't realize you had posted Carnation. I'm soooooo sorry things didn't work out the way you had probably hoped. It's a tough situation, but I know you and your family will make it through the disappointment. I figure it's God's way of showing that he has something else instore for you...something better.
Thank you for showing us what love is all about. Hootie |
