Survivor: F vs F
I didn't realize this was starting last night...but my TV was still programmed from last season so I happened to catch it.
It's funny that 4 of the Favorites are ALREADY committing one of realitynewsonline's big no-nos of pairing off and appearing to be in a relationship. And I didn't see that coming for Johnny Fairplay - I really thought (and do still think) that the pregnant girlfriend was some kind of ploy, and I really did think he was scheming with one side so the other side could pick off whoever they wanted. Guess the story on that will surface later. Over all, most of the fans seem pretty likeable, besides Kathy, who reminds me of Kathy Griffin - looks and the way she runs her mouth. And they're right - they all know which of the past Survivors are liars, and which play clean games...but the Survivors (and other fans) don't know that about them. I really think this is a good "gimmick" for a season. |
Cirie was COMPLETELY under the radar last night..

AF - Jonny and his girlfriend did indeed have a baby girl in January. But he's an idiot, and I am soooooo happy he is gone.
Go Fans! |

Dang! I missed it! I can't help but wonder if any of the fans from alt.tv.survivor are on it. Several have applied in the past. I'll need to check it out on the CBS website.

Episode #2 tomorrow, titled "The Sounds of Jungle Love.". Another Amber/Rob Allstars Season? God I hope not. Who is your vote to go home tonight?
|
I like Ozzy. And Amanda. They can stay around as far as I'm concerned.
Cirie was funny talking about walking through the water tonight. I totally loved her, and I've never cared one way or the other about her before. James impressed me last season. Not so much this season. He's so goofy liking Parvati and what not. I'm not impressed. Eliza just annoys the hell out of me. She can go. |
I approve of Joel. I thought he was going to be a big, dumb jock...but he really knows how to play the game. His downfall, though, will probably be OVERschemeing...or at least letting too many people on to him.
|
The fans are hilarious to me. I frequent the alt.tv.survivor newsgroup and they analyze and over-analyze things like Mike was analyzing last night. I keep wondering if any of them are on this show, but nothing is posted there to indicate that.
|
Now would be the time for those three "older" ones on the fans side to try and draw in that guy in some others to show how that one guy is controlling things.
I watched some last season but never got completly into it, but I actually have on this season so far. We shall see how things pan out. I am glad either way that they got rid of Johnny "fairplay" last week bc I can not stand to watch him on tv. |
The show would have been better if they had real favorites. One third of the favorites are former contestants that people hated. The second third I don't even remember.
|
I was really glad that Circie stepped up last night and basically said that if they weren't going to kiss her ass for a vote (which both sides probably should have been doing) then she was taking control. And she did. Although I think the problem with that is she probably put herself on the chopping block by doing that. :p
|
I was bummed to see Yau go though. I've always found him entertaining.
The hunt for the Hidden Immunity Idol has been pretty lame this season. |
That's baked, barbequed and fried!
James used his brains!

When will these people ever learn that perfoming well in the challenges doesn't necessarily mean that you should look like a "BIG MUSCULAR DUDE?
If anything, to do well in the challenges, the best traits to have are a combination of athleticism & agility (Ozzy, who excells in the swimming challenges) and also brains and mental agility (Yau Man, who excells in tasks that involved puzzle solving & accuracy). I hope the 'weaker' Fans rally around and put out Joel next. That would "learn 'em good". :) |
Best dialogue EVER -
Chet - I hit my head. Hulk, I mean Joel - I don't care. Chet - I know. |
I've loved this season so far because they've been totally overpsyching the situation, so each vote has been BLINDSIDE/BLINDSIDE/BLINDSIDE. Well, except Jonny Fairplay, who just about blindsided his tribe the opposite way with asking to be kicked off.
I've liked Joel until this episode, but I thought he was a big jerk last night, and I was glad at the outcome - even though I think Chet is the most annoying person in Survivior history. I think if Circie and Tracy form an alliance, they'll be unstoppable. Those are two women who not only understand the psychology of the game, but how to manipulate people into getting things to happen in their favor. Although if Chet makes it even close to the finals riding their wave, I'm going to be pissed. But, if you think about it, after the merge, Chet's going to be the person to keep around (much like Courtney last season). He's weak at challanges (and I doubt he's going to pull a Yau-Man), and he wouldn't get ONE jury vote. If Chet can make it to the merge, I think he's going in front of the Jury. |
Don't count Ozzy out - incredible at challenges AND has the immunity idol. As long as he doesn't pull a James.

I will agree, that was the best dialogue last night - I expected Chet to be the one that may have to leave the game (based on promos) - that was a little overhyped, wouldn't you say (although next week that could be the way it *may* play out for JP) I can't wait to see the faces of the Airai tribe next week when they meet for the challenge and they see Chet :D |
Chet is kinda creepy like "Buffalo Bill" in Silence of the Lambs, like in that scene where he's putting on lipstick, and then he does the "weiner tuck dance" where he's prancing around in the mirror, looking at himself and saying "I'd f**k me, I'd f**k me". So creepy and disturbing!!!

I love reading my daughter's updates just for the nicknames - guess who is Leif Garrett? Or Mr. Fabulous?
|
I think the fans really dropped the ball at last night's vote. Sure, I thought voting Chet off was the right move, but they should have stuck with Ozzy as their vote - AND LET HIM KNOW IT. Ami could have voted however in the end, but if he thought he was in any danger, he would have used the idol. Chet would still be gone, and so would the idol. It actually might have turned out better for Ozzy that way as well...he's a huge threat, and doubly so with the idol. Rule #1 of Survivor is to not be a threat. Look what happened to James last season...
By the way, quick recap of the elimination score: Blindsides: 4 Injuries: 2 Pathetic Skinny Blonds who beg to leave: 2 Strategical Votes: 0 |

Wow.. did anyone see this tonight. It was a great episode. Much of the season has been boring until tonight. Loved it.
|
I missed much of it due to having to try and get the boys to stay in bed - too much excitement with the movers here and all. BUT I did get to see Ozzie NOT play his immunity idol. I don't see how he couldn't figure out that as good as he is with challenges the other players would be gunning for him.
|
LOL LOL @ James - "I thought I was the dumbest Survivor ever".
When Jason stepped off the challenge, it reminded me of what DaffyKD had said: Quote:
Overall, I don't think that Jason made a huge mistake. Even if he did get voted out last night, I think it was worth the risk. If he would have stayed up there and won the challenge, he would have stayed on the chopping block. Yeah, a few donuts probably didn't appease everyone forever, but he may have bought himself more time than that one immunity win provided. Even if it was dumb luck. He's proved himself to be THE biggest challenge threat left - and I think that was true BEFORE Ozzy was voted out. |
I at first he was so stupid - of course they were going to vote you out. This is a game about lieing, however I thought it was so great how the girls finally realized they could capitalize on this.
I thought at least if nothing else they could get Ozzie to us the idol this week and then have a chance to get him out another time. Ozzy was just getting way too cocky, so that was his downfall there. I just love it now bc its so unpredictable whats going to happen, bc up until now this season has been rather dull. |
The look on Eliza's face when they voted out Ozzy was priceless! She was loving how he was blindsided.
Yes, last night's TC was the first one where I wasn't sure what the outcome really would be until Jeff was done reading the votes. Great episode and smart move on the girls' part. |

Cirie is so my favorite this season. She's not only playing the game, but she also gives GREAT commentary as to what's going on in the interviews. :p
|
Well, we finally see a little bit of Natalie this week. Up until now, I kept forgetting about her. She's pretty sneaky, too. Honestly, if I were Jason, I don't think I would have played the immunity idol, either. For one, Natalie was pretty damn convincing, and her plan that pretty much fell into her lap by accident played out beautifully. Two, I think playing the idol would have only delayed the inevidable one more week, barring an immunity streak. Why not show the others that you really DO trust them on the off chance that they were telling the truth. If it would have worked out in his favor, there was a lot to gain, and only one week lost by it not working in his favor. I don't doubt, however, that not playing the idol, combined with last week's doof will earn him a place in realitynewsonline's Hall of Shame.
|
Oh, and I was also glad that Jason's final words weren't all whiney like Ozzy's were.

There's a difference between making strategic moves for the sake of staying in the game. But it seemed like she was just being mean for the sake of being mean. Not too strategic, if you ask me. |
I thought Jason was an idiot for not playing the idol, he made the same mistake that Ozzie made in which they got too comfortable. First rule..trust no one..second rule is don't forget the first rule. I don't care how much someone claims to have an alliance with so and so, it's a game and everyone's out for themselves. A red flag to Jason should've been when Natalie runs up to him before an Immunity challenge talking about who "they" were voting out? Second, Jason should've tucked that idol in his shorts because he should've known they were gonna search his bag for that thing.

Parvo is on my last nerve! I just hope James comes out the winner. I love how he says they are all a bunch of dumbasses! *lmao*

Things got a bit shaken up last night. I knew when tribal council started that Amanda was putting on an act (and a damn good one), and that she really had the idol. I don't care if she had to dig herself halfway back to China, she was going to find that thing. Otherwise, she was about 99.9999% sure she was going home. I loved the looks on Ozzy (and the rest of the jury, for that matter) when they thought that Amanda was being voted out, and then again when she pulled out the idol.
Wouldn't it be funny if Amanda made it to two finals in a row? I think she's got a much better shot at this one. The last time, she was a party to most of the votes that put people on the jury. That made her feel guilty, and she lost it at Final Tribal. This time, the only person she was a party to voting out so far is Alexis (yeah, she voted for Jason, too - but it was pretty clear that she wasn't the ringleader on that). Alexis said in her final words that she know's it's a game and she's not mad. I realize that saying that doesn't always matter when it's time to vote, but I'm pretty sure of all the people left, Amanda's got Ozzy, Eliza, James, and possibly Jason's vote. That's already a majority. She'd have to majorly blow it (AGAIN) at this point to loose. |
