Congratulations 2 Me

I'd like the GC community to welcome Dylan Thomas into the world. I am an Uncle! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

Last Monday, my sister had an 8lb, 7oz, 21 inch baby boy. Perfectly healthy in every way. It took her and her husband (one of my fraternity brothers) 5 years to get pregnant, and they had a miscarrage along the way. She had to do the Lupron shots and everything. But, it payed off and the baby is BEAUTIFUL.

This is the first additiion to the family since me, so it is a big deal for us.

The totally amazing thing is that I NEVER knew I could totally fall so in love with something that easily. They put him in my arms and I melted.

Thanks EVERYONE for the kind words. I was thrilled the baby was fine, but was really concerned about my sister. We have a super close bond, and I was glad to see the baby fine, but I wanted to see her after the c-section. After that, I was OK. Able to breath again, so to speak.

SoCalGirl, I saw some commedian talking about that. He was saying, "Dinner? Naw, we ate ding dongs and ho-ho's. I aint gota pay the dentist bill." "Homework, no, we been playing 64 all day."

Seriously, I cant wait to spoil the kid.

Bonus points to EXCard, for the poet reference. Yep, thats who he is named for. I have always loved the poem "Do not go gently into that dark night." Ever since HS. Then my sis and Bro were watching a TV show on E or something and they were talking about famous Dylans. They liked the way Dylan Thomas sounded.

It was kinda funny seeing the birth certificate stuff (they list the following). My brother looks all cool and stuff because his place of birth is Cape Town, South Africa. (So very DMB) but that is un-cooled by my sisters place of birth, Grand Forks, NORTH DAKOTA. HA! Anyway, Mother is doing fine as well, almost fully recovered. They are getting about 3 hours sleep at a time. Both parents exhausted. Oh well.

I am so looking forward to being "Uncle Buck."

Thnaks for the kind words everyone.

Coolest Part, He's a Double Lambda Chi Legacy, Double ATO legacy, KA legacy and a Sigma Chi Legacy. This kid is SO going greek.

Congrats Lifesaver. Just now found the post. Gonna have to get him a toy truck with a brush gaurd on the front of it. I am a sorda new uncle too, my nephew gets all the good stuff from me.

So he is a KA legacy huh? I knew that there just had to be a KA in your family somewhere, if its not you. I have never heard you reveal what GLO you belong too, but in the back of my mind I just always had a hunch you were KA.

Congrats to you and the fam.

Hahahah. Thanks man. Yeah, I am planning on ruining the kid. Cant wait till hes old enough to hunt. Of course, keeping the kid quiet at the deer lease is problem 1.

No, man, I am not a KA, but a Lambda Chi. usually keep that stuff on the down-low, as you know all to well what happens when you reveal too much about yourself online. Lotso' legacy in my family. My maternal grandfater was a KA at Drury. My dad was a Sigma Chi at Missouri, and two uncles were ATO's; my moms brother at Texas Tech and my dads brother at Missouri. I wanted to rush all of them, but some weren't on my campus, and I didnt click with the Sigma Chis' and the ATO's were having some serious troubles at the time. I met a few Choppers, and figured Lambda Chi is where I belonged.

My family was a bit upset with me. my grandmother the most, because I was, "being disrespectful to my dad, uncles and grandfather." Oh well. They got over it. Even tho my chapter may not get along supergreat with certain other chapters on my campus, I will ALWAYS have a soft spot for ATO, EX, and KA, if not for anything else, out of respect. I would someday be proud to have my sons join LXA or any of the above orgs.

life out

My nephew is usually wide eyed about the first 30 minutes in the treestand, but then he usually falls right too sleep. I am sure that will be the case with yours too. I would rather him be asleep and just wake him when something happens than to have him figiting around. Now teaching em to fish, that takes patience, and they usually wont fall asleep.

I took a chopper fishing with me last week if thats a coincidence.
