What type of vehicle do you drive?
This might have been done before, I'm not going to do a search, so if you don't want to answer, just pass over it.
Anyway, I just bought a new 2001 Saturn SL1 in January. I LOVE it! I did have a 87 bonniville before that--YUCK--but drove a Mazda B3000 before that (truck) and LOVED it! |
I've got a 1994 Mitsubishi Mirage Coupe ES. Nice little car, and it's been good to me.
|
2000 VW Jetta GLX. Navy blue with black leather interior. I love it. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif
|
2000 Amethyst Plymouth Neon!!!
|
My auto is nothing special but my license plate is.... it reads
Sue-XO I know, I know- I can't road rage but everyone here on the East Coast thinks the XO stands for a kiss and hug! |
85 POS Ford Ranger, within a year though, I'm gonna have a 98-02 Jeep Wrangler, after I sign for a job http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I have a Black GMC Jimmy with a Alpah Gamma Delta sticker right across the front. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif I love my SUV!
|
My "mommy car" is a 1997 Volvo 850 wagon (which I swore up and down I would NEVER, EVER get) but when I'm not chauffering around the girls I drive a 1993 Miata.

I drive a 95 Geo Metro (yuck) http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
|
I drive a 1993 white Honda Accord. It's my mom's old car and the poor thing is about on it's last leg. I gotta make it last though b/c I won't have enough money to get a new one for a few years.
|
I have a '93 Mustang. Last year they made them with only 4 cylinders. I'm not crazy about the car itself, but i can't complain since my parents gave it to me. It has never given me any trouble either.
|
The ultimate mommy car! Not a minivan but to hold 13 kids--a 15-passenger van, of course! Humiliates our teenage girls....
|
1989 Chevrolet 3/4 ton Z71 (4x4) 350 cu. 4 speed tranny with bulldog (arrr arrr) 200,000 miles on the original motor and still runs like a top. Maroon, Black brushgaurd, toolbox, hay rack, nerf bars and fender flares winch, and getting ready to convert the heads on the motor to VORTEK (Bolt on another 50 or 75 horses), and add a winch.
What did you guys think I drove? A car? |

'97 Honda Civic EX. Silver with tint.
|
A the old timers know, the 2K Cranberry Red Ford F-150, named Kimber. Got it on Spring Break. Tinted windows, replaced the grille, (was chrome, and a ton of it - looked like an unpainted 747) to match the body color, with the black honeycomb grille, and next paycheck- Grille guard and nerf bars. Really want the front-end replacement, but that is about twice what the grille guard costs.
For those not in the know as to what KABillyMac is talking about, or what I am talking about follow the link below. Damn fine lookin trucks.: http://www.ranchhand.com [This message has been edited by lifesaver (edited June 13, 2001).] |

1999 Honda Civic EX--white and fully loaded--complete with sunroof, spoiler, and mirror tint. I love it, but what I really want is a black Toyota 4Runner.
|
I drive a 97 jeep cherokee, though usually alone everyone refuses to ride with me. Some of the brothers even make it a point to tell pledges not to ride with me, something about being "wreckless" or "careless" though I'm almost accident free......
I think it came from a story about how when I was a pledge, I was "racing" one of my pledge brothers from the fraternity house back to campus and I drove through a frisbee golf course (shortcut)..... No one was there at the time though...... |
01 Toyota Corolla. I just got it about a month ago. Its silver with grey interior. Its not the fanciest car but its very reliable with the commute I have to work. I was driving a 98 Neon but it ran into some problems, so I'm glad I dont have that problem anymore http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Once I pay it off in two-three years I want something like a Chrysler Sebring Conv, Saab Conv, or a BMW of some kind. I drove a blue mazda pickup when I was in college.

I have a blue 1997 Honda Civic LX that's been through hell and back. I thought about getting an EX, but I decided I didn't want to pay extra $$$. It's been paid off since last January...but insurance is such a pain in the azz.

For those not in the know as to what KABillyMac is talking about, or what I am talking about follow the link below. Damn fine lookin trucks.: http://www.ranchhand.com Life, good site. If you are going to try to buy that front end replacement, you might want to look into its ability to accept a winch or not. Winch's dont sound like much, but after I got hung across a steep creekbank 2 weeks ago with only 3 wheels on the ground and my front bumper dug in, I decided that its time to put one on my truck. Would have saved me the embarassment of having to have my little brothers truck pull me out. 9 years in that truck and I have never hung it, till now. I dont know if you know anything about welding or not, but if you dont go out and buy a copy of Haynes Welding Basics, a good cutting torch kit and a good welder, and teach yourself how to weld. Not only will you be able to make most of your truck accessories yourself, you also get to add more tools to your collection and have a 1 up on your friends that cant weld, and thats the name of the game. I dont know if your accessories are black or chrome. I hope you are going with black. Our trucks are the same color and I think chrome is for sissies. Maroon (or Cranberry) is just better looking with black. The headache racks on that site are goodlooking too, but they need to run the rails down the length of the bed, instead of stopping right below the toolbox. We need a trucking forum. 1995 Dark Green Mitsubisihi Galant

True dat, true dat. I am just getting into the wonderful word of truck accessories. Its definately all about the black. I HATE chrome. What is this 1957? Can I get some white walls too? Ugh! Yep, its all black. They only bolt them on. I want them welded (GrilleGuard) onto the frame, but the guy at Ranchhand was telling me it would structually weaken the guard attachment to the truck frame. Didnt quite sound right to me. he two drawbacks to the grilleguard/replacments are that One, it makes an impact (fronal) harder on your body, bacause it eliminates the engine compartment crumple zones, therefore transfering the schock of an impact to the passange cab. Two it apparently Adds about 10-15 mph needed to trigger your air-bags. So they would go off at an impact of 43-45 instead of 30 mph in a head on colisiion. With all the science, I still cant help but feel safer in a truck with the GG. Something about scraping the Civics of fthe front of my truck (heheh). Primarily, tho, I want it for the protection it affords me from the deer in the area. I have had PLEANTY o friends bag deer with the vehicles, and the GG made all the differnce. Since my truck sits high enough the deer would either fly around the side or under the truck at impact. <note to bambi fans. I like animals, but in south Texas, deer are like squirrels. The're everywhere. I would never intentionally hurt one, unless I am in a deer blind, and it is November (legal hunting season). But they are so plentiful here that its not a matter of if you will hit one, but when. Sorry kids. Jsut the way the world works> Dont plan on the winch. Never go offroading anymore. Used to in HS and runed 2 trannies that way. Am gonna get a draw tite hitch, so I can tow a trailer. Dont have a trialer, but never know when you might need one (moving, etc). I figure if I can handle a goose neck trailer like the one I used in HS on the ranch, I can handle a tow behind on Kimber. Sounds like a good idea about the welding. Might look into it. I am also looking into adding fender flares. The small ones. When I got Kimber she was very factory. Didnt even have an alarm. I am not putting one on, because after a year they suck. Batterys go dead, and I dont want to be the one in the apartment complex that everyone hates because I was outta town on business and the alarm shorted and went off all weekend. Check this site out : www.bushwacker.com Some cool flares on it. [This message has been edited by lifesaver (edited June 14, 2001).] |
I have the Bushwackers now, but I dont know what they cost. My g/f bought them and nerf bars for me for valentines day, but I got her to take the nerf bars back after I measured and drew them on CAD, then I just made my own, and saved her a little money.
The grille gaurd I made is for the same reason you want yours. Deer are like flies here in Ky, but I destroyed the hood of my truck one day when I was trying to get this crazy old cow to go in the pen so I could pull her calf and she suddenly stopped, and I messed up the ol truck, didnt hurt her or the calf though. |
I have a silver 2001 Corolla Sport. They're basically the same as the regular Corolla except for the interior, which is all black with all red controls and red leather stitching on the steering wheel. The interior is the reason why I went for it.. I love it! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif
