but where are you guys going this year?

my friends and i started thinking about it the other day

i wanna do a cruise, though i pry cannot afford it, it's just i wanna do something different - i did the boring as hell trip to Fl meat markets (clubs) for the past two years, but wanna get creative this year

I've heard (if you have the cash) that Ibiza, Italy is the best place ever to go! Huge clubs, beautiful people, a party scene that doesn't compare to anything else in the world... I am trying to save to get there in 2002! (wish me luck)

Me and some of my bros were thinking the carribean. the last three years, i've stayed home and worked. I'm going this year!

I saw how crazy Ibiza gets on the E! channel. Next week, one of the clubs down here's having a massive Ibiza foam party...and seeing how everyone gets wild with those I'm totally looking forward to my first foam party!

I don't know about '02, but FYI for those looking for it, for sure spring break 2003 falls (for us) during Mardi Gras . . . So that's the plan until further notice - Keep that in mind kiddies.

Next year - maybe Negril or someplace like that, although Ibiza sounds like a winner - prob depends on how much money i spend in sept-feb though.

I have a question regarding spring break. Have any of you ever seen the previews of Girls Gone Wild? They advertise one about sorority girls- are those real sorority girls? And shouldn't they be getting in trouble for exposing themselves? I know spring break is crazy, but people are making money of these girls showing their bodies.

If your spring break falls on Mardi Gras, I have only one word for you - GO!!!!!! I went spring break of my freshman year, and on top of that "Fat Tuesday" was my 19th birthday! It is soooo insane, but it will be an experience you will never forget! We drove 13 hours (I was stuck in the back seat of a Wrangler with ALL the luggage), but it was soooooooo worth it!! I went with a bunch of Pi Kapps, and we saw a lot of other guys from other chapters since they were wearing letters. I didn't see any ZTAs b/c we're not supposed to drink in letters. As for the "Sexy Sorority Girls" video, I don't think they can prove that any of those girls are greek. I saw the commercial, and it looks like girls flashing at Mardi Gras for beads, and seriously, when I was there, I didn't see any girls in letters. The only jerseys I saw were on fraternity guys.

But as for this upcoming spring break, I will be turning 21 midweek. I don't care where I am (hopefully the Caribbean) as long as I am getting wild and crazy and having a blast!

For Spring Break 2002, I will be in Italy, where I'll be spending the semester. Maybe I'll jet on over to Barcelona, Paris, or Ibiza. Or maybe I'll just explore Rome. I'm really excited about going there. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Question: Does anyone really like going to Panama City Beach? I've lived up the road from PCB my entire life, and still can't understand why people like to go there for Spring Break...any explanation?

LOL AlphaChiGirl, that's how I feel about Las Vegas, where I grew up. I guess you're just immune to your home town's possibility for fun in some cases.

For Spring break I'll probably be heading to Daytona, for once I won't be there going to school so it will be fun to come back and visit. Other than that I've been going to KEY West for the last 4 spring breaks and it never disapoints.... though cancun looks inviting...

This past spring break was the FIRST one I never worked Corbin Dallas, so I know how you feel! We went to Fl and had lots of fun visiting a sister! In 2002 some want to do the Cancun thing while I want to visit our sorority cutie pie ( a Sigma Chi ) in TX and then head over for the last weekend of Mardis Gras! I think New Orleans would be so cool!

A couple of friends of mine are going to FL but for a different reason. We are going to Spring Training. We are going to catch as many games as possible in a week. We think it will be fun and something different.

Hmmm...good question. I haven't even thought about what I want to do for Winter Break.
I will probably do one last hoorah with my sisters in South Padre. We'll all be going alum so it'll be a special time.

I actually saw the "Sorority Girls Gone Wild" video and during the whole thing only ONE sorority (which will remain nameless) was mentioned in the video. The girl was not wearing her letters...and no other letters were displayed. The director asked her what sorority she was in and she replied (pi$$ drunk of course).

Don't know where I'll be going for spring break this year - but am going to SoCal and Phoenix in a month and 5 days!

Hopefully, I'll be interning in Washington D.C or LA. Two summers ago: Went to St. Petersburg and built houses for Habitat for Humanity and got to do a little partying. The largest St. Pats day party is at a bar in Tampa and is a blast. Last summer: went to South Padre; can't believe Texas laws allow you to drink in a car as long as your not driving. Made the 30-minute trip tp Mexico a blast - of course we had a designated driver http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif.

I have always wondered what impression people get about greeks on spring break? if anyone has been to South Padre for spring
break, you will see 30 or so flags from national IFC fraternitites and a few Panhellenic sororities. Below the flags are hundreds of
drinking college students. I have been one of those drinking college students, but I left almost all my letters at home because of the association with my chapter and a spring break atmosphere. Do other spring breakers post national flags at other Spring Break locations? I didn't think much of it when i was there, and i understand there is a sense of pride associated with being greek. But I
wonder what message it sends to people watching spring break on television or
non-greeks to see those flags flying above a sea of drunks. What do you all think?

A lot of my bros went to Cancun this past spring break. They said it was a really good time, but it was expensive. One guy said he had a good time, but would have had just as good of a time anywhere, and that it was really only worth it if you weren't 21 yet.

Yeah, my supervisor at one of my internships a 2 years ago had graduated from college the previous year and he was going to Cancun the same time as Spring Break. Even my mom's co-workers were going to go to Cancun during the same time.

arggggh ibiza makes me think about this a**hole that totally treated me like cr@p and wasted way way too much of my energy and my self esteem....argggh...

I REALLY want to go somewhere fun this year!!! But since I'm still broke and plan on working very little when I'm in school, the chances of Mexico or somewhere else super fun are slim...I'll probably stay in AZ or maybe go to LA to see people...not sure yet!

So far off that i got no idea. I'll ask some people what their plans are and then decide and go with or work. I think if i worked that would show how cool i really am.

well, this year I didn't go anywhere because I didn't set aside enough money
however, in january, my brother said that he'll pay for me to go wherever my friends go
because i sacrificed last year

so, more than likely. . .wherever the PIKES are going. . .Alexis will be there with them. . .oh and Brittnay(she's a Sigma Kappa)

Daytona Beach baby!
 

Last year (or does it still count as this year... oh, well 2003 is what I mean) me and two of my Brothers went to Daytona Beach for Spring Break. It was AWESOME! The past two years before that I went to Mexico, and this was WAY better. The clubs were smaller, but I like that, you can actually chill and meet people. The place was absolutely INSANE. It's like what college would be like if everyone lived there and nobody ever had class (the great American dream...). Some pics of our trip our on our website:

Check it out if you have the time... it's pretty funny. (note that all of us that went were 21, so the alcohol was legal ;) )

We're going back next year but bringing a lot more of us (this year it was a last-minute spur-of-the-moment thing, we decided to go about 5 days before we left). Everything was pretty cheap too, the whole thing costed about $600, which included the room for a week, a rental car to drive down, gas, food, LOTS of alochol, and some spending money. I seriously recommend this for anyone who is a bit tight on money but still wants to go. I'm sure if you plan in advance and bring more people you could probably go for even a LOT cheap than we did!

I went to Daytona for break with my ex-boyfriend... it wasn't a huge deal, we decided to go 2 days before... (was supposed to go to Cancun, but I was whipped at the time)... it wasn't a crazy break, but it was still fun... went to Acapulco the following year... I'd love to go back someday-- the clubs were absolutely amazing! And aside from the fact that my watch, a new necklace, and about $100 U.S. dollars were stolen from my room, it was a great time.
