Song of the moment?

Every couple of months a new song will come out that quickly becomes my "new" favorite song. What are everyone's favorite songs of the moment?

Mine are: "I Wanna Be Bad" by Willa Ford and "I Like Them Girls" by Tyrese.

treblk 05-29-2001 04:12 PM

I am in love with the new Eric Sermon and Marvin Gay "Just like Music"

It such a nice mellow Sunday-in-the-park song

I LOVE the new Aaliyah song "We need a Resolution". She's the bomb! And I love the Lady Marmalade song although MTV and radio are really blowing it up right now. I try to avoid it so I don't get sick of it, but I really like that song!

Hootie 05-30-2001 12:06 AM

My song for the moment is an old one...
Bare Naked Ladies 'IF I HAD A MILLION DOLLARS.'
I just got my two BNL cd's the other week and I have been listening to them NONSTOP. I'm addicted. I also like track number 7 off of Stunt...Call and Answer. FITS ME PERFECTLY right now...especially the first verse.

Rudey 05-30-2001 12:11 AM

treblk,

I heard that song the other day and I loved it...I mean absolutely loved it. But I caught it on the radio and the announcer didn't say the name. I thought it might have been an old song because the style was just really mellow. I love songs like that.
Thanks so much for helping me find out what it is http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

SigmaChiCard 05-30-2001 12:15 AM

not exactly brand new
but I love Missy Elliot - "Get ya Freak On"

"We need a resolution song" is a great song, it has a phat beat behind it. 2 other ones that I like that the radio hasn't killed yet, is the Jon B "Don't Talk " and the Eric Benet Song, I think's it called love doesn't love me, or something like that
oh and before I forget the song, that I hardly hear but like it a like the Missy E. One minute man, with ludicris and Jay Z on it http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Forgot the song titles (my head hurts), but the "newer" ones from DMB, U2, and David Gray (Grey?).

I'm into "mellow" alternative (laid-back alternative, not punk/ska) these days...

Hi DGPhoney! I don't know if it's that one or not! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif I realyl ought to listen to the lyrics more carefully! But you know what, recently, I'm liking so many of his songs that come on the radio! Perhaps it is the one that you talked about!

I will keep an eye (ear?) out for it! I really want to get his CD soon http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif. Then, after that, I MUST get the U2 CD http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif. I like practially every U2 song that I have ever heard!

P.S. When are you seeing them in concert? Lucky doll! They played in SF only a few weeks ago, it was supposedly a big blast...but tickets were so hard to get!

MeezDiscreet 05-30-2001 03:18 AM

"we're calling you," by r&b group, silk and "bakardi slang," by canadian rapper kardinal official.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words - "mank" and "ind". What do these words mean ? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind http://www.plauder-smilies.de/nut.gif

Newbie-
Probably I Did It by DMB (from their album Everyday). If you're just getting into them... they're addictive! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif I actually don't like their new album as much as Before These Crowded Streets (my favorite) and Crash. But it's still good.

And Everything You Can't Leave Behind by U2 (at least I think that's the title). If you're not too familiar with U2, a good album to start with is The Best of 1980-1990. You probably already know every song on it http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif.

I'm not familiar with David Gray, but I hope that helps!

Mine have been songs by Everclear lately like Wonderful and AM Radio, although I've been getting over that. On the flip side, do you have songs that are played every 10 minutes that you can't stand? Even if you liked it the first 2 days it was getting played? Mine is Drops of Jupiter. I don't know who it's by, but it's just all of these metaphors about some girl and it gets played on our pop stations AND our alternative stations, and I'm so tired of it!! Sorry about the tirade. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/wink.gif

Hey, Silver Turtle, the band Train sings "Drops of Jupiter". It is a little overplayed (it was used for every Dawson's Creek preview). Right now, I like "Lady Marmalade", "Get Ya Freak On", "Pop", "More Than That",and "Bootylicisious". I heard that Willa Ford song today for the first time--it's pretty good too.

CALL AND ANSWER!!! Hootie the stories I have about that song...LOL it's a fabulous one for sure. BNL rocks! Ever see them in concert? I don't have any of their CD's but the tee I have is gonna wear out soon I think...

KSig RC 05-31-2001 01:26 AM

I've been flipping out over:

Wyclef - Perfect Gentlemen
Beatnuts - Get dough
Louie Armstrong - I get ideas
The Slackers - and I wonder

Anyway - I'm not too sick of anything new-ish yet, although "Take it to the house" is somethin I hear every 10 minutes b/w friends and airplay . . . dammit

shadokat 06-01-2001 10:32 PM

Right now, I am really digging that Missy Elliot song Get Ya Freak On. By the way, if you haven't bought it yet, get the latest Matchbox Twenty CD. It is so great, and those guys are awesome!

Thrillhouse 06-02-2001 01:54 AM

Collective Soul, vent or my personal fav. band: Weezer, though not because of the name of their new song. That is all

No and I was just telling a buddy of mine, "when are they going on tour?" I hope they tour again sometime soon since I have never seen them live. That is on top of my must see concert lists.

Any Weezer fans around?

Oops, just noticed that Ex Greek and RedHotChiO are Weezer fans. If either of you read this can you tell me what you think of their new cd? thanks http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

[This message has been edited by Leslie Anne (edited June 03, 2001).]

I like their cd a lot. Of course I may be a bit impartial http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif It is as good at the album with the sweater song, etc. but It isn't as good as their very first album. Still a good cd though.

Thrillhouse 06-04-2001 12:22 AM

Yeah, I hate to admit it, but I downloaded most of the songs off of the internet. So I didn't buy their latest cd, even though I have the whole thing on my comp. I rarely ever by cd's any more.

gammazetagrl 06-04-2001 01:02 PM

I must admit that I listen to bubblegum teenybopper pop and that my current fave group of the moment is Dream...my song of the moment is Miss You by Dream just coz I miss my ex...sigh...this will take time before it passes.

I also must say that Destiny's Child Writing's on the wall cd is better than Survivor. I only liked 3 songs off the new cd, compared to everything on the 2nd one.

You lucky girl!!!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif DMB came to my city recently, but I coudlnt' go...it was so hard to get tickets! Guess what, I finally figured out the name of the song http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif. It's called "Space Between" by DMB http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif.

I also like right now--
*"Sing" by Travis
* some new song by Sting
*"Hey Pretty" by Poe
*"When It's Over" by Sugar Ray
*"Here's to the Night" by Eve 6

phisigQT 06-08-2001 11:26 PM

I am all about DMB...any song from them I love. I love their newest one, the space between I believe it is called...and I am SOOOOOO excited b/c I am seeing them inc concert tomorrow at RFK stadium in D.C. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

newbie 06-14-2001 10:52 PM

I don't know why, but these days, I'm all about hard rock ballads...

For example--I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE that new song by Stain (sp?? don't know how it's spelled)...titled "It's been Awhile"...you might know of the song, it keeps on going, "It's been awhile...blah blah blah...It's been awhile"

Their music is like Creed's, or Incibus's, or Fuel's...

And I really love the music that I posted in the other post (the one right before this one), too.

Oops, I was just re-reading this thread, and I realized i never saw SilverTurtle's and LeslieAnne's messages to me!!

Thanks you two--I LOVE those songs, too!! Thanks for the recs...i'm definitely thinking of getting the CD's! I'm also all about Travis these days, too! And the songs that I listed in my previous posts (the newer ones)!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

LeslieAGD 06-15-2001 01:50 PM

See, it's only been a few weeks and I already have to add a new one to my list!

"Who I Am" by: Jessica Andrews

nucutiepie 06-16-2001 12:54 AM

For me, the songs of the moment are:

"Space Between" by DMB
"Irresistible" by jessica simpson (I dont like her but I LOOOOVE that song!)
"Lady Marmalade"
and the new N'SYNC single, "Dirty Pop"

(I know i listen to cheesy teenybopper music, but whatever...)

Nothing will ever compare to "the blue album" although "Pinkerton" was supposed to be their best album to date... But "the green album" is still very good. It's typical Weezer. the song Photograph is awesome. If you like Weezer i definatley recommend it.

Incubus - Warning

TaraHopeful 08-11-2002 01:29 PM

I love Sheryl Crow's "Soak Up the Sun". Even though it's totally overplayed....i can listen to it anytime. And i'm still hooked on Jimmy Eat World's "The Middle"
