Home Sweet Home
As of today, I am now an Alumna Initiate of the sorority I gave the code name of Betelgeuse.
Thank you everyone who was supportive in my AI journey. More details once I come back from work later today. But for now, let the guessing start. Here is the first clue: "The motto of this organization Is in the language William Shakespeare spoke." |
Theta Phi Alpha. Congrats!
|
yey
Congratulations on becoming a SISTER of THETA PHI ALPHA!!!
Love, a loyal Brother |
OK Senusret, who informed you?
I wanted to have a guessing game. No fun if it is let out like that. Scarlet- it would be a SISTER. |
Congrats and welcome to our sisterhood! :) Which chapter did your initiation?
|
I was initiated with the Alpha Tau chapter, even though they are not the closest collegiate one to me. There was also another Alumna Initiate with us- the wife of the chapter's advisor.

congratulations scandia!!

|
Congrats Scandia
|
Congratulations to a fellow librarian!:)
|
Actually, I would think the least likely one would be Chi Omega due to AI being so rare in it.
Thank you everyone for the good wishes and support. |
Congratulations!

Congratulations to you. Enjoy your new sisterhood!
|
Gratz Scandia!
Just a word of advice-your guessing games are too complicated and most people don't want to play because they're frustrating. I hope you enjoy your new sisterhood. Keep us updated on how it's going. |
Yay Scandia!!! Congrats!!! I'm sure you'll have a wonderful and fulfilling time in Theta Phi Alpha!!!
|
Mine??? But my first clue was just a fancy way of saying "my GLO's motto is in English".
|
Congratulations! Glad your patience paid off and you achieved your goal! I know it was a long road for you.
|
I'm glad you found your NPC home. Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy!!!!:D
|
Ok I'm Confused ....can men join Theta Phi Alpha? Why is it called a Fraternity if it's all women?

"Zeta Tau Alpha is known as a fraternity, not a sorority. The founders intended ZTA be designated a “fraternity” to distinguish the organization from the sisterhoods organized in connection with men’s fraternities, called sororities."
And we're not the only one.... |
Congrats to you and Theta Phi Alpha, Scandia! I hope you are happy in your new sisterhood. :)

Reader's Digest Condensed version - early women's GLOs were called "women's fraternities" - hence all those GLOs formed prior to 1874 are fraternities. The term "sorority" was coined for Gamma Phi Beta upon the founding of the Beta chapter. Since then, some GLOs have chosen to use the term "sorority", and some "fraternity". Gamma Phi Beta's founding had NOTHING to do with any men's fraternity. HTH.
Back on topic - congratulations Scandia! |
HTH = How The Hayle?
Help the Homeless? Help This Heffa? *lost* |
LOL - Hope this helps - but I like "help this heffa", too!
|
Gotcha.....thanks!
|
Don't even start, Geeky. I already know all about all the reasons why that statement is not entirely accurate (since it's my org and all, I know how the brothers helped, etc, just quoting something to help) and I've already been told that every word on GC has already been said before. Thanks though.
