When were you born?

Just wondering when everyone's birthday is, mine is August 30, 1980 http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

oh and i dont know if any of you read what i posted in another topic about how i hate when people give me a kids menu at restaurants, but this past weekend i went with my family to eat at soup and salad and the waitress asked my mom if either my brother or i were under 12!!! I was SO upset!! SO.... this coming up august i will be 21, maybe then i will look a little older, say 15?! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/mad.gif

I had the opposite problem. I grew up really early. I was in fourth grade and 5ft 3in. Taller than my teacher! Everyone told be that I was going to be sooooo tall when I "grew up." Well, they lied. I stopped growing. And to this day, I am still 5ft 3. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif Not that there is anything wrong with it, but everyone else in my family is super tall. People used to ask me when I was going to get my drivers licence when I was 12, and I can buy cigs without getting carded. I don't think I look old so much as I look mature. At least that is what I like to pretend.

But, back to the point - I was born January 18, 1982. Capricorn!

I look older or mature I guess. People are surprised to learn I'm only a freshman at college. I used to be taller than lots of people my age, but now am average. I was born on October, 8, 1981.

Allie,
I'm now convinced you are my true long lost twin sister! That happened to me as well! I was like the tallest girl in elementary school and then I suddenly stopped growing. I'm an inch and a half taller than you though :P

I was born January 9, 1980! Just turned 21!

My birthday is on August 4, 1979 so I celebrated my 21st last year...which makes me a Leo (kind of explains my bish attitude at times). According to the Chinese calendar I was also born in the Year of the Sheep.

Don't know if I'll have more birthdays to look forward to.. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif Social Security (if we'll still have it) and Retirement age maybe?

http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif Hootie, doesn't it suck to watch all your friends grow up around you, and you can still wear shoes from 3rd grade?? My brother has been taller than me since he was 12 - and he calls me shorty. He's 14 and a monster at 5 ft 10!!!

Happy 21! It suddenly hit me around my 19th that I would be 20 soon... it seems so strange. I'm going to have to act grown up and stuff. Ugh! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif But seriously, I really think I'm going to have an age crisis on Jan. 18, 2002.

Nice try *L* I'm a true Aquarius and have a baby face. As far as famous people go I probably have the All American look that Matt Daemon has.

5/25/81 (literally the last sophomore in our house to turn 21 . . . hell some of our freshmen will be 21 before me . . . eh)

As far as looking young, i get it on both sides - alternately i'll get asked for id at an R-rated movie, or not id'ed at clubs and just given a wristband - i've been told it's a 'looks young, acts older' thing. I just think it's f-ed up. but funny too i guess . . . ; )

bucutie02 02-13-2001 12:43 AM

okay guys, here is a question for you. Do you think its bad to look younger than you look? I dont think it will be bad when i get older, but right now this bugs me so much. I dont want to look like a 15 year old. Its basically my baby face, but come on!! 15 is a little too much i think!! Maybe thats a problem i have with guys. Since i apparently look younger, they dont want to approach me since i look like a little kid!! Its like i get the more "you're so cute" expression rather than "you're so pretty". There is nothing wrong with that, but just simply stating. OKAY, ill get over this http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

At first I got offended when people thought I looked younger than my age, but after a while I got over it. Sometimes I still get carded at the movies http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/mad.gif because they think I'm not old enough...but you know what? In 3 years I'll be a quarter of a century years old...and I know I'll be longing for days like these. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

well maybe on the upside you'll get approached more by dirty old guys in plain white chevy cargo vans? seriously though - from a guy's point of view, i don't think that's too big of a deal (looking young i mean, not being a pedophile) - if guys say 'oh she's so cute', that would, at least to me, indicate some interest or whatnot. plus, in a few years you'll (and we'll) love the fact that you look younger - so short version: no not a problem at all.

Lets hear it for everyone over 25!

I was afraid of 25... I thought it meant that I couldn't go out to the clubs anymore, and that my fun would be restricted. Since that time I've actually had MORE fun, met more interesting REAL people...

I've also gotten comfortable with myself, my weaknesses, and my strengths.. so far, its been a great personal (and profesional) exploration!

I'm feeling it too -- but the details are unimportant... http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif...I have enough shame in my life for having to share the same birthdate (not year http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif) with Slick Willy. Here is something I just got on the old email for all us over 25'ers:

>1. Your salary is less than your tuition.
>2. Your potted plants stay alive.
>3. Shacking in twin-sized beds seems absurd.

>6. Mac & Cheese no longer counts as a well balanced meal.

>8. 8:00 AM is not early.
>9. You have to file your own taxes.
>10. You hear your favorite song on the elevator at work.
>11. You don't get carded anymore.
>12. You carry an umbrella.
>13. You learn that "bachelor" is a nicer term for JACKASS.

Whew. That "Senior Member" was beginning to have a double meaning. Jan 24, 1974. I thought I was the oldest one here. At least there are a few of the other "lets meet for drinks after work" kinda people here. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

When I throw on my ball cap people think I am about 19. I LOVE IT! I love getting carded. I even got horassed by the police for Violating curfew about 6 months ago. the look on the officers fae when I pulled out the ID was great.

I am a Leo-Cancer mix. I am a bitch who feels bad about it!!!LOL

I had no issues really with turning 25. I think 30 will be harder!!

But I really think that if you are satisfied with your life, you are not really concerned with your age. It's when you feel time is slipping away that a birthday invokes panic (in my opinion, anyway)!

April 22, 1977...EARTH DAY!!!

Miami1839...haaa, good old Camp Pendleton. When we were stationed in Yuma, AZ Camp Pendleton was our escape. We would leave town whenever possible to visit our old friends from Okinawa who were stationed on Camp Pendelton.

BTW, my family moved back to Okinawa in July of '99. They'll be back in the summer of '02. It seems so weird to think they are there...again. I have yet to visit. I'm running out of time so I better make it soon. It seems beyond my imagination that I would ever be going back there.

Yeah, i had a mini crisis about birthdays since i was 18, don't get me wrong i was excited, but 18 ment i was no longer a "child" now i was a young adult, 19 was a yeal older then 18 and not a very special number at all, 20 sent me crying for 48 hours because i was no longer a teenager, 21 ment i had noting to look forward to anymore. Yeah, my car insurance went down lets party. (not).the way i see it, there's nothing good after 16. you have a car(freedom) you have your parents supporting you, you might dabble in some part time work but it is nothing really difficult, and you don't know the beginning of school work yet, you still have plans to change the world and be someone, your spirit hasn't been tarnished by someone with manager in there title b/c they can't belive they have spent 20 years in the position and is still makin 30 grand a year.. ah the good life, john couger meelancamp had it right. hold on to 16 as long as you can.
---------------------------------------------
so i just reread this post and i have to say it was a bit harsh, i had jost gotten in from work, and was grouchy and tired, and i needed my daily GC fix, its sounds much worse then i ment it, but then again i am a gemini and we are supposed to be the forever young branch of the zodiac so maybe i look at growing UP as a bad thig, while others see the merits of the situation.

OK, that doesn't make me feel any better about getting any older. I'm panicy enough as it is! My thing is that I have an excuse now. My mom says, "Why do you want your tongue peirced?" (Or any other 'young' type thing.) I can just laugh and say, "I'm just being young and dumb - I'll grow out of it." When 20 hits, I can't do that anymore. I like that excuse. USFstudent...

I'm totally feeling you!!! I had the same thoughts and feelings at each of those ages also, right up to 21. 22 wasn't so bad, but when I turned 23 and could no longer be under my parents medical/dental insurance it through me right back into my slump. I'm turning 24 in April. I feel that I am finally coming out of this midlife crisis that I've been going through for the last four years.

I have always fussed over what age I was at only to discover another year has passed me by. So, I have learned/am learning to enjoy everyday and embrace the age I am at, since I am just going to get older http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

bucutie02 02-15-2001 12:20 AM

is it true that when you hit 23 you are no longer under your parents health insurance? that is so scary, i am only 20, but what if by that time i havent gotten married or have a good job that includes insurance?? ahh!!!
