Dog Chapman uses Racial Slur and gets dimed by son

Here are the links:

I don't know if this is ironic or funny....but....he has an argument with his son because son's girlfriend is uncomfortable about racial slurs that Dog has made, then uses said slurs in phone conversation with son, that he didn't know son was recording, son sells tape and exposed dad for using said slur...A&E gets word of it and temporarily pulls plug on show.

Chapman makes statement and here is a part of it:

In the clip, Chapman also stated he doesn't care that his son's girlfriend is black. (but yet he still uses racial slurs which would make anyone uncomfortable)

In a statement, the 54-year-old Chapman said he has "utmost respect and aloha for black people who have suffered so much due to racial discrimination and acts of hatred.

"I did not mean to add yet another slap in the face to an entire race of people who have brought so many gifts to this world," he said. "I am ashamed of myself and I pledge to do whatever I can to repair this damage I have caused."

But the richest part of this whole thing is.... he now seeks to have a meeting with Reverend Al Sharpton (read: damage control)

.....amazing the things people do when they slip at the lip and mess up thier own money.......don't worry Dog....even you can overcome.....just ask Imus (which by the way will be back on today!)

A&E pulls 'DOG' from its schedule:

Show or no show, slurs or no slurs...I hope he continues to do what he does to rid my streets of criminals. Just sayin'.

The whole thing is bizarre & sad.

From what I understand, the Minister who presided over Dog and Beth's wedding was a dear friend to both of them and I believe that he is African American, so who knows....

I was told that the gist of his conversation centered on his belief that there are black people.......and then there are ni**ers. Kind of like the whole white people / white trash thing. So while Dog may have no harsh feelings towards normal black people, he may have some animosity towards the more thuggish/ghetto types.

Just something I had heard. Could make for an interesting discussion.

That is what I'm thinking! He most certainly does not represent me nor does he represent anyone in my family. Al Sharpton is not someone that I personally would care to speak on my behalf. I honestly would rather that if he must "make some type of appeal to black people" he meet with a local church pastor instead.

I don't really need an apology from this "Dog" character either. It was his personal conversation that was wrongly broadcast against his knowledge. What people say (especially amongst friends or relatives) and do are always two different things and as long as it does not harm/effect anyone then why is it my business. I feel bad for him actually.

"Rev" Al is a real interesting "person". He was going to organize a protest against the NY Knicks over their legal issues of this past summer. But at the last monement did not. Most of the people I have spoken to all agree on why: It was a Black vs Black rather than White vs Black issue.

Never mind it was a Black man vs a Black woman.

I still find it interesting that A&E used the National Enquirer as the sole source as to the reason why they took the show off the air

Further revelation on Dog Chapman

As a Christian, I believe in forgiveness and redemption; but Dog needs to care less about losing his show and his money and more about saving his soul.

I haven't been following this, except for in here. If this is true, then what makes it different from when Oprah said it?

It was back in the 80s sometime. She had a huge forum on racism. I believe she had some KKK members there, as well as Blacks who hated whites. I just remember seeing clips of it, and I remember that quote. Because she said that there can also be white n****rs, and as much as I can't stand Oprah, I liked that statement. Someone older would probably remember it.

I recall Chris Rock having the same line, but I don't remember hearing about it from Oprah, then again, I'm not an older member :p

It may help the search but I found something saying she used the term "wigger"

And Colored White: Transcending the Racial Past (google book search) "By December 1993, after an Oprah show centered on "wiggers" The Source... declared the term and the controversy officially played and over."

That was just a quick google on her name and the terms.

I wana say the show I'm thinking of was before 93, maybe in the late 80s. I can picture it in my head but the link I posted was the only thing that came up.

1. I can't believe that we're using links to the national enquirer in this thread. It just makes me chuckle. Nothing against you, PeppyGPhiB, just in general.

2. If anyone has been watching this closely, has Dog actually mentioned her name in any of the interviews? Has his specifically said something like, "My son Tucker's girlfriend, Monique Shinnery, is a bad person, blah blah blah."
From the clips I've heard, she was never mentioned by name. I didn't know her name until I read the linked article above. Geez, its not like she/Tucker are world famous celebs and everyone knows who they are. I mean, if Tom Cruise's mom came out and said, My son's wife is has terrible character, shes a whore, etc, then yeah, I'd know who she was talking about. But I think this is taking it a step too far.

RU OX Alum 11-14-2007 01:00 PM

i didn't know he said something about his son's girlfriend

that's horrible, whether he meant it or not, that his son's girlfriend

good luck on letting them letting you meet your grandchildren now

She probably forgot about the time she got thrown out of Lulu's when she decided to sue DOG for slandering her good character. I heard rumors of this going around and I was surprised to hear that it made TMZ yesterday.

The Hawaii DOE gives DolphinChicaDDD a hard time in the hiring process but they have Monique Shinnery on payroll. Nice.

'Dog the Bounty Hunter' resumes filming in Hawai'i

Quote:

Chapman has apologized and tried to make amends with the network and the black community.

Network officials say that since the show is about second chances, they decided to accept his apology and resume production. No air date has been announced.
I know many people don't like the guy, but as a member of this community, I'm glad A&E decided to put them back on the air.

They cite second chances, but methinks they were hurting without their highest rated TV show. :o

I don't see how she would have a case for slander. That being said, this guy is an idiot and deserves to be tarred and feathered publically.

If you think he's an idiot, turn off your damn TV and shut your mouth. Though if I were you, I wouldn't be so quick in calling ANYONE an idiot.

He makes my community a LOT safer by making sure criminals are where they're supposed to be, so I'm thankful he's out there.

I don't know if Ms. Shinnery's following through on her case against the Dog, but after the newest turn of events, I imagine it'll be difficult now:

Tucker Chapman arrested for violations of his parole. OCCC's not the greatest place to be right now.
