KD songs - one line at a time!

I realized today, KD's Founders Day, that I'm a little rusty on my KD songs. So, would any of my lovely sisters like to join me in singing some? I'll start with the first line of one of my favorites and we'll see if we can get this off the ground. :)

Always think of Kay Dee when you hear this melody......

tinydancer16 10-24-2007 12:05 PM

oooh it's my favorite KD song!!
We'll be wishing you goodnight is sleepy harmony...

SydneyK 10-24-2007 12:56 PM

May you days all be bright ones...

Katmandu 10-24-2007 01:11 PM

may your cares all be light ones,

Leslie Anne 10-28-2007 04:36 AM

Is everyone avoiding this next line for the same reason I am? Because you don't remember it!? LOL :p

Oh gosh, what is it....

Tonight while...uh, moonlight beams?...no, no, that's not it!

Help!

Help!

According to the KD song book "Tonight while moonlight beams" is the next line followed by

So dream tonight of Kappa Delta...

DaffyKD

Leslie Anne 10-28-2007 04:04 PM

Thanks, Daffy! :)

We will dream of you....

SydneyK 10-29-2007 12:47 PM

And when daylight dawns again our love will still be true

Katmandu 10-29-2007 02:38 PM

So whisper goodnight dear,

sassykd 10-29-2007 06:12 PM

(goodnight dear - depending on the chapter you're at)

In stillness may you hear...

Leslie Anne 10-31-2007 03:43 AM

Our Kappa Delta song of dreams. :)

kathykd2005 10-31-2007 10:01 PM

Next one! :) I love the KD Lullaby, though!!!

Got a sister on my right hand...

kdonline 11-02-2007 06:49 PM

Too bad there's no moderator for our forum... I am hoping that no one mistakenly posts a ritual song. ;)

(When I was a collegian, during a candlelighting, the assistant song leader started singing a ritual song, in front of pledges...oops!)

sassykd 11-03-2007 07:16 PM

Wow Kathy, Haven't tried this one in years. Let's see, is it....

And I'm very glad to say

KDAngel 11-04-2007 12:50 AM

Oh darn! I don't know this one. But the lullaby is my absolute favourite!

Yes!

That a friend should be forever...

SydneyK 11-06-2007 01:27 PM

Though she's very far away...

kathykd2005 11-07-2007 10:34 PM

May we give our special thank you for this hour we have to give...

SydneyK 11-15-2007 11:38 AM

For it seems a special friendship is a gift we can't outlive...

kathykd2005 11-15-2007 02:08 PM

I understand just how it feels today to wear the pin of Kappa D

SydneyK 11-19-2007 05:11 PM

I think we're the only two who know this one, kathy!

And I am proud that I have found the best in dear KD, my dear KD.

kathykd2005 11-19-2007 05:29 PM

Does your chapter do a harmony of "Auld Lang Syne" with this song? I looked in the songbook, but I found no mention of it in there, and my chapter does that.

In any case:

I'll never forget, the day we met, the love I found, in Kappa D...

I think you might be right about that. I wish I knew this song, but it doesn't even ring a bell. It's nice to read the lyrics though. :)

Not that I can remember! I'd love to hear it, though.

kathykd2005 11-20-2007 08:42 PM

I wonder why we did that... It is truly unique and I'd like to find out if it was simply a chapter tradition, or something having to do with earlier chapters of KD. :)

My chapter used to do that harmony part too... and that was ~20 years ago.

kathykd2005 11-21-2007 07:57 AM

Good, then I'm not going crazy! :)

sassykd 11-22-2007 12:09 PM

Nah, you aren't going crazy this time. Some of the wome on the Eta Delta CAB know that one too and they sing it the same way we did. Didn't have much luck teaching it to the chapter though.

kathykd2005 11-22-2007 11:20 PM

That's a shame. It's such a beautiful song. :)

kathykd2005 11-25-2007 03:48 PM

How about "In This Very Room"? :) It was always my favorite at pref.

In this very room, there's quite enough love, for one like me...

SydneyK 11-29-2007 10:18 AM

And in this very room, there's quite enough joy for one like me...

kathykd2005 12-09-2007 05:48 PM

And there's quite enough hope, and quite enough power, to chase away any gloom...

SydneyK 12-14-2007 10:14 AM

For sisters in KD are in this very room.

(Surely kathykd and I aren't the only ones who know this song, too?!)

kathykd2005 12-14-2007 02:38 PM

I sincerely hope not, anyway. :)

SydneyK 10-24-2008 08:25 AM

I think it's time this thread got bumped. Happy Founder's Day!

This was always one of my favorites...

"Follow me where I go, what I do and who I know..."

kdizzy 10-24-2008 09:47 AM

Follow me up and down, all the way and all around...

KDAngel 10-24-2008 06:09 PM

Oh darn I don't know this one either. But can we bump trivia back up too? I never knew the answers, but I LOVED learning everything. :D

Just interested 10-24-2008 08:20 PM

OK!! Here is a favorite of mine besides "In This Very Room" Which is my all time favorite.

"I love the pin you let me wear
I love the greek that's written there"

rhochi2002 10-24-2008 09:59 PM

I love In this very room... we sang it alittle different though.
I also love the KD Lullaby....
did anyone sing Shalala?
