Pushing Daisies

It's only 1/2 over, and I LOVE it. The cast, the clever writing, the premise, I LOVE IT. Even if sister Kristin Chenoweth weren't in it . . . :)

Gina1201 10-03-2007 08:35 PM

I love it too!! The story is refreshing and funny.

this is cool...this should have been a movie too...heheh

jubilance1922 10-03-2007 09:42 PM

I really really really like this show. I will be watching this season.

O_Phi_A_Bekah 10-03-2007 10:10 PM

I have to agree...it is good! I just wish it wasnt at the same time at ANTM!

SWTXBelle 10-03-2007 10:40 PM

Can you believe the cast? From Jim Dale, to Ellen Green(e?), Swoosie Kurtz, Kristin Chenoweth . . . wow.

greeneyedDPhiE 10-03-2007 10:41 PM

I loved this show! It reminded me a lot of Tim Burton for some reason. Definitely going to be watching the rest of the season.

why does it remind me of charlie and the chocolate factory????

amycat412 10-04-2007 12:15 AM

I love it too!

Rudey 10-04-2007 12:53 AM

I think someone was watching six feet under and was inspired.

I got more of a "Big Fish" vibe from it than "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". Definitely Tim Burton lite.

SWTXBelle 10-04-2007 10:08 AM

THAT'S IT -"Big Fish" - I knew it was reminding me of something, but couldn't put my finger on it.

I thought it was also very reminiscent of Limminy Snickets (I'm sure I spelled that wrong, but hopefully you know what I mean anyway).

I liked the show, but I'm wondering if the premise lends itself more to a movie than a weekly show; I just think it might get old after a while.

Ok..how about we all agree to this:

The colors and scenery of a Tim Burton flick

The quirkiness of Big Fish and Lemony Snickets

The premise of 6 Feet Under....

and..........what did I miss?

SydneyK 10-04-2007 10:33 AM

^^^ I think we can add (or, at least, I would) a very Danny Elfman-like score. I remember watching the credits to find out who did the music, but I don't remember the guy's name. It wasn't anyone I had heard of before.

SthrnZeta 10-04-2007 10:42 AM

Me and my boyfriend were both saying Big Fish last night and he also thought a little Doctor Seuss as well - I kept waiting for the narrator to rhyme! Very clever show though and I really like it. Been waiting weeks for it to start and the cast - definitely good and there's a good chemistry which as we all know is so important for a brand new show.

SWTXBelle 10-04-2007 12:22 PM

I think it is more than a one-trick pony - there are a lot of different dynamics working between various characters, and I am sure the aunts are going to be a big part of some future episodes. Ultimately of course it is all up to the writers - but so far, so good.

You've got your "i" and "e" flipped. It's Kristin Chenoweth.;)

Thought it looked funny - but with the carpet guys pounding away, my brain has turned to mush. Thanks, AF.

Yeah, and thanks to you putting her name in my head, I've been on YouTube all day.

I don't think I'll ever get the medley of Popular/My New Philosophy/14G/Taylor the Latte Boy out of my head.:p;)

KDAngel 10-07-2007 10:09 AM

Taped the re-air on Friday and watched it yesterday -- I'm a fan. :)

SWTXBelle 10-07-2007 10:23 AM

Can you imagine what pref must have been like with Kristin singing???

SWTXBelle 10-10-2007 09:02 PM

Kristin sang! I'm so happy - and I loved this episode, too. Can't wait for more with the aunts.

SydneyK 10-11-2007 09:31 AM

She does sing well, and I was wondering when they'd script a song in for her. Unfortunately, though, I'm afraid that it isn't tailored to mainstream TV when someone just breaks into song (especially a song from Grease).

I'm trying not to like it too much because I just don't see it sticking around (although I really hope it does).

I didn't realize she's in it. I may have to watch now.

SWTXBelle 10-11-2007 10:17 AM

I'm afraid that the fact I like it so much is the kiss of death, judging by the past.

CrimsonTide4 10-13-2007 09:43 PM

I watched the first 2 eps yesterday at work and I am a fan!!!! OMG this is such a great show. Love Chi McBride and Kristen Chenowith who is really really tiny.

For those who are fans of TWOP, they are recapping the show.

SWTXBelle 10-14-2007 01:56 PM

I usually love TWOP, but I think they should have a different reviewer for PD.

bejazd 10-14-2007 02:21 PM

My son and I loved this show...but I got distracted by something and missed one part....why was he using the real people for crash test dummies? other than the scientist??

I really need a Tivo.

SoCalGirl 10-14-2007 03:01 PM

CTD have microchips that record all the stats about how deadly the car can be. Bodies don't have microchips so you can make up whatever you want about the safety of the dandymobile.

SWTXBelle 10-14-2007 03:34 PM

Tivo is the best. I now resent when I have to watch commercials because I am watching something in "real time".

bejazd 10-14-2007 06:07 PM

Okay! That makes sense! Thanks SoCal Girl!

I get a waft of "Edward Scissorhands" in there too (which is a Tim Burton movie, but still).

SWTXBelle 10-18-2007 02:19 PM

I just love Chuck's wardrobe. So cute! So retro! Love the shoes!

ok...so I am nitpicking it a bit...anyone watching it in Hi Def?

notice how BRIGHT the colors are??

Unregistered- 10-18-2007 03:19 PM

I like Chuck. A lot.

But sometimes I just wish Ned would just touch her already just so she can shut up for good. LOL.

SydneyK 10-18-2007 03:43 PM

I loved the line Ned delivered last night during the sword fight with Woodruff (?)...

Woodruff: I was champion of so-and-so swordsman class (paraphrasing)
Ned: "I wanted to be a Jedi."
-cue first chord of Star Wars Theme-

:D

SWTXBelle 10-06-2008 05:54 AM

Loved the first episode of the new season - though that was one heck of a wait!

Is it bad that Olive is turning into my favorite character? Pigby :)

RaggedyAnn 10-06-2008 06:03 AM

I have class on Wednesday nights. :( This is one of my favorite shows. I guess I'll just have to hope they change the night for re-runs.

SWTXBelle 11-21-2008 10:28 PM

Cancelled

I give up. Every show I LOVE - as opposed to like - is killed off in its prime. Oh, goodie. More half-baked reality shows, I'm sure. It was clever, witty, FUN . . . what happened to fun? I will miss this show. :(
