Britney loses custody of her kids!
Associated Press
LOS ANGELES - Britney Spears was ordered Monday to surrender custody of her children to ex-husband Kevin Federline. Superior Court Judge Scott M. Gordon ruled that Federline will take custody of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, beginning Wednesday "until further order of the court." The order stemmed from an unspecified oral motion made by Federline's attorneys and was handled in a closed-door hearing. The judge's order didn't state the reason for the change in custody and all transcripts of the proceedings were ordered sealed. Phone messages left for representatives of Spears and Federline were not immediately returned Monday. Last month, Gordon said Spears engaged in "habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol." He ordered the pop star to undergo random drug and alcohol testing twice a week as part of her ongoing custody dispute with Federline. Spears also was previously ordered to meet weekly with a "parenting coach" who was to observe and report back to the court about her parenting skills. Both Spears and Federline must complete the court's "Parenting Without Conflict" class. Spears, 25, and Federline, 29, were wed in October 2004. She filed for divorce last November and it became official in July. The two have joint custody of their sons, but Federline is seeking a greater share of custody. Since Spears became single, her troubles have played out in the tabloids. First she was photographed at various Hollywood hotspots partying with Paris Hilton. Some photos captured Spears without panties. Then Spears shaved her head, beat a car with an umbrella and ended up spending a month in rehab. An MTV Video Music Awards performance last month meant to herald her comeback was universally panned. The following week, Spears' management firm dropped her and her divorce lawyer resigned. She then was charged with misdemeanor counts of hit-and-run and driving without a valid license for allegedly crashing into a parked car in August. Spears' new album will be released Nov. 13. ___ Raquel Maria Dillon in Los Angeles contributed to this report. |

So they think her ex is going to be a better parent?
Let's neuter both of them. |

I am going to have to agree. I honestly don't think K-Fed doesn't care about the kids. I mean, he's got 10 other kids with Shar (or whatever her name is). He just wants these kids for the $$$ he can get out of Brit-Brit for child support. Britney just made it way too easy for him to get custody. If she hadn't gone all crazy after the divorce, he wouldn't have had a case. |

Who's next in line if K-Fed screws up? Grandma Spears? Or is she screwed up too?

On the radio this morning they said that Britney didn't hesitate to drop her kids off the very same day.
Then she went tanning, out to a club, and stayed at a hotel. I'm really sad for her. The public has been witnessing her unraveling for a few months now... almost a year. Now that she's lost the kids, I think she should be put on a suicide watch or something because I think the worst is yet to come in her unraveling. |
Bless her little coked up heart.
I don't understand why y'all are so down on the father here? What has he done besides have a marginal music career? Does that alone make him a poor father? I spent some time in the trenches working on a semi-high profile divorce (I say semi because I did actually see a few national publications pick up some of the "drama" associated with our case). The case I worked on was between a prominent NYC news anchor (mother) and a former lead singer of a boy band (father). I can guarantee you what is printed in the papers and what is reality are two distinct things. The media in these cases, or at least mine, took the grains of truth they could ascertain from (maybe?) going over the court file and I would speculate talking to the mother, and then fashioning its own story and conclusions therefrom. Is K-fed a "bad guy" because he goes out and has a good time when he's not watching the kids? Since the court hasn't declared him to be an unfit parent, and trust me, if that were an option, Spears' legal team would have been all over it, I'm going to assume that the court knows better than the "Star" or whatever grocery-checkout publication is carrying whatever information. Oh -- and most states require there to be some sort of material change in circumstances to disturb a custody arrangement, so Federline is likely going to have to really screw something up before Spears has the opportunity to seek to regain custody. |
They still make birth control don't they?

However, I'd rather see the kids with him than with Granny Spears, that's for sure. She'll be trotting them around to auditions the minute they walk in the door. |
Loose vs. Lose
Does anyone else cringe? I know it's the old school teacher in me, but it's a big pet peeve.
|
^^^ Yeah, I cringe, but it's starting to be less of an issue for me. I guess I realize that people are going to constantly misspell things (definate, seperate, dessert/desert, just to name a few).
I feel so bad for these two kids. Their lives will never be normal - even by celebrity standards. Tragic, really. |
I cringed too.
As to the kids- thank God Mom's loaded- she can afford alllll the therapy coming their way. |
Just send ME those little boys, and I will raise them. So far, my 2 girls have turned out ok.
Personally, I would love to get my hands around a baseball bat and knock some sense into Ms. Spears. That and I think she needs to get out of the spotlight and refocus on herself and her boys. Send her down to Florida and let me knock some sense into her. I am not fond of K-fed (1st do you REALLY want your CHILDREN calling you daddy K-fed?). It does make him look bad to have dropped his babies momma for a woman who is LOADED. Not to mention I still believe that they planned it. |
By no means do I consider K-Fed a highlight in Britney's life, but you can't say he's been a bad father. He was so supportive of Brit getting help months ago and really trying to get her to clean up her act so that COULD stay in control of her kids. I think he finally just said enough was enough.

Why does anyone really even care about this? |
We care because some of us a parents and we think "what if this was my child or grandchild"
|
I don't care. But of course I still have an opinion, lol.
It's impossible to avoid hearing about it. |
Because its on TV all day everyday. Its like an accident scene, you know you shouldn't look, but you HAVE to anyway.
|
With her millions, why doesn't Britney hire a driver and some nannies for her kids? OY!

Personally, when I heard that she had until Wednesday to deliver custody, but she went ahead and gave them to K-Fed on Monday; that said it all, as far as I am concerned. |

And unless you have kids who are about to hit it big in the music industry, your fears are misplaced. Worry about terrorists or something. |
My understanding (and I really am not a great authority on these two) is that K-Fed not only left the pregnant Shar for Britney, but both were pregnant at the same time. I have absolutely no use for ANY man who has two different women pregnant at the same time.
Also, I heard that he drops the kids off with Granny Spears to babysit, and has helped drive the wedge between Brit & her parents even deeper. Which is not to say that I think that she's a decent parent! I have a good friend & sister in CA who has been trying to adopt for years. I could pretty much guarantee that she & her husband would be better parents! They've done extremely well with the mentally challenged child who they adopted several years ago. |

That would be in Vegas, getting drunk with all of his buddies. |
First thing that the white trash did after giving up her kids:
Went tanning...........then clubbing. |
At this point, her actions are SO inappropriate, anything less than major psychiatric therapy isn't enough.

Before she went tanning, she applied for her California driver's license. |

ETA: I was right: Spears Gets California Driver's License Spears Gets California Driver's License By SANDY COHEN (AP Entertainment Writer) From Associated Press October 03, 2007 12:35 PM EDT LOS ANGELES - Britney Spears has received a California driver's license to comply with a court order in her child custody case, a state official said Wednesday. The temporary driver's license was issued late Tuesday in Santa Monica, said Mike Marando, deputy director of communications for the state Department of Motor Vehicles. "She has completed her requirements for a driver's license," he said. Among her recent problems, Spears was charged with misdemeanor counts of hit-and-run and driving without a valid license for allegedly crashing into a parked car in August. Monday's court order to temporarily surrender custody of her two sons to former husband Kevin Federline came after the 25-year-old pop star failed to produce a California driver's license and allegedly missed a drug and alcohol test as ordered by the court, said her lawyer, Sorrell Trope. A hearing was scheduled later Wednesday for more custody proceedings between Spears and Federline involving their sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1. |
One thing that always crosses my mind when I hear of all of her stupid people tricks is, "what does Justin TImberlake think of all of this?".
He was able to lead a relatively normal life with Camron Diaz by staying as far away from Hollywierd as possible. He even lived through the Wardrobe Malfunction, without it becoming more than a water cooler story. Not that the paparazzi left Justin and Camron alone, but we didn't hear about them daily. However, neither of them pulled the stunts that Brit or Fed Ex did, nor did she pull the diva act. |

/slight hijack/ At the height of the Jennifer Lopez/Ben Affleck obsession, Ben's bff Matt Damon was being interviewed on a radio station here in Dallas. The DJ made a comment about Bennifer always being in the press, but you rarely saw Matt in the tabloids. Matt's reply was that it wasn't that hard to avoid the press and tabloids. He said that people know where the papparazzi (sp?) is and that it is actually quite easy to avoid them. /end hijack/ |

I was more or less referring to the puppy love of Justin and Brit. What if they had wed? |
