So Calla, did they Bakery open yet? What is your schedule on parties? |

Here we go... Day One I was very nervous when the day first started but felt better as the day went on. I am nervous about not being a freshman but my friend who graduated already was recruitment chair at her sorority (diff school) and helped me prepare for recruitment so hopefully that helps. We visited all eight houses that day. They are all housed so it was a lot of walking. Chocolate Strawberries: This was the first house of the day. I was very nervous and I could tell the girls were too. They all looked very polished and seemed very nice, but I didn't have any conversations that really jumped out at me. I wouldn't mind coming back and checking them out more, but I'm still not sure about them. Chocolate Mousse: The girls I met here were so much FUN! I felt like I had some really great conversations with them. All the girls I talked to seemed perky and the conversations flowed naturally and I didn't feel like it was forced at all. Their song was also really cute. Definately want to come back! Cream Cheese Pie: I really like the two girls I talked to here. One of them was taking or had taken the same classes as me. Different major but similar requirements. We both had the same career goals so it was fun to talk to her about the things we'd done. The time went by so fast and I had a great time here. Cheesecake: I was a little surprised by this house because they are one of the top houses on campus and I thought I would completely love them. But while I did like them I wasn't totally in love with them the way I thought I would be. TI know a couple of girls here from a different org we are all in but didn't see them. They are still a great house and all the girls seems so beautiful and amazing but I'm not sure if I fit in here. Pizookie: I really liked this house. It started off slow when the first girl I talked to was nice but didn't have that much in common with me. The second girl I talked to was really great and time flew by talking to her. Everyone here seems so happy and positive and it made me feel that way just being around them. Definately a top choice Yellow Cake: These girls were sweet but the conversations were a little forced. The time seemed to drag on for me here and I didn't remember the names of the girls or what we talked about. I'm sure they are a very nice house with a great sisterhood, but I don't think they are for me. Tiramisu: I knew a girl in this house as well but didn't talk to her. I did love the girls I had a chance to meet. They seem like they have alot of different girls who all really mesh together. I also really like their philanthropy. We talked alot about that and leadership opportunities. One of my favorite houses. Chocolate Strawberries: I felt so bad for these girls.. or at least the one I talk to. She seemed incredibly nervous and didn't look me in the face at all. I felt like I was asking all the questions she should have been asking me. Maybe she was just super nervous which I can understand, but I don't think I want to come back here. So it was a all in all a fun nut exhausting day. Sorry for the time context differences this day already a couple of days ago so I'm trying to recall it all. We picked our top five and ranked the bottom three. This was my list after the first day, the top five are in no particular order and the bottom three are ranked: Cream Cheese Pie Tiramisu Pizookie Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake 1) Chocolate Strawberries 2) Yellow Cake 4) Brownie We went back to a max of five on day two, but I'm going to take a little break from writing all this. |

okay, so now i am craving dessert! |
|
A Pizookie by the way is a dessert that is a giant cookie baked in a tin and served hot with ice cream over the top. It's delicious! Working on day two so give me some time to update. |
|
Yay for cream cheese pie (even though I don't know what that is)! |
|
Is the second Chocolate Strawberries supposed to be Brownies? I think that's a typo! |

Sounds like things are going (or went) well for you. That's great! This thread is making me hungry too. Has anyone tried the new Guiltless Gourmet Dessert Bowls? You just add water, nuke it for 30 seconds and....mmmmmmmm. :D |

Sorry for the delay... it's been a VERY long day. To try and make a long story short Day Two was saturday and I got back all five of my top five which I was plesantly surprised by. By the end of they day I knew I would have been happy in any of them. We have a lot of great houses on campus. So it was really hard to rank them. But I finally was able to and yesterday was Preference night. I went back to Chocolate Mousse and Cheesecake. Both ceremonies were very beautiful but in the end I felt a connection with one house more so than the other. I'd have been happy with either one of them though. I ranked them as 1) Chocolate Mousse 2) Cheesecake And if you haven't already guessed why I'm writing so late it's because today was Bid Day! And I recieved a bid from CHOCOLATE MOUSSE! So now I'm wearing a ribbon (for now) of ...... two colors............................. |

While we're waiting for CallaLily13 to end our suspense, I thought yall might like one of the easiest and best testing recipes that I have for a pie: "Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie" 2 graham cracker shells (yep, one recipe makes 2 pies!) 2 cups Crunchy Peanut Butter 1 can Eagle Brand Sweetened Condensed milk 1 16 oz Cool Whip, softened Tad of Chocolate Syrup Mix together all ingredients (using mixer towards the end to make light and fluffy), pour half of mixture into each of two graham cracker crusts. On top of bottom part of mixture, drizzle a little chocolate syrup and spread over the bottom half. Now finish off both pies with rest of pie mixture, put in freezer til frozen. These are slap your grandmother good, and no one lets me bring anything to any function anymore but these things. I accept your thanks in advance!!!:D Talk about thread hijacks!! |

Sorry I fell asleep... oops! I was really tired. Anyways I've got to go get ready to have lunch with my new Alpha Chi Omega Sisters! By the way this was the biggest group of girls to ever go through recruitment and we were over quota with 43 girls in my class, bringing the house total to 120 girls! It's been insane trying to remember everyone's name! |
