SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO mad they tricked me into thinking cutie Santos was alive!
The show only partially redeemed itself when Henry showed up in NYC at the end.

I expected him to be dead...but when he showed up "alive" I was so excited that I didn't really think the show would be so mean as to make it just a dream.

i was sooooo hoping that it wasnt true but the way the scenes at the house went, i figured ol boy didnt make it.

i am so siked the show is back on. it was a great first episode!

I also expected him to be dead. The way Hilda cried at the end of last season? Santos had to have been dead (which sucks because he was damn hot). I'm surprised that Justin's taking it pretty well. Speaking of Justin, he sure has matured over the last year.

Regarding Hilda's dress...the dress she wore last night clearly wasn't the one she got from her mom in Mexico!

LOL @ fat Amanda. I'm liking her character more each time.

And Alexis/Alex! I wonder how long it'll take before she realizes she's no longer a man?

Okay so I just got into Ugly Betty and I wanted to finish season 1 before watching Thursday's eppy. So I finished today and boy was I thankful that all I had to do was click on the DVR and then start the episode. Woo.

So I was bawling at the end of the season finale, I was sure that Santos was dead, so when I started the new one I was beyond relieved that he was "alive". It made perfect sense to me (Hilda wanting him to stay in the bedroom with her). But I was bawling at the end when you realize that he in fact did die.

I think the reason Justin is handling it so well is that his dad really wasn't a part of his life, for a very very long time. Hilda was in the love with the man.

I loved the scene when Daniel went to see Alex(is). I was like "ahh", until he/she woke up and was like "why are you calling me Alexis". I about died, that was frickin funny. LOL. Although, I feel bad for Daniel, he feels guilty right now but typical soap opera style it will come out that Alexis hired someone to "kill" daddy and that is who's car they drove that night.

One nitpicky thing, and I'm not sure if anyone else noticed it, but everyone kept saying "oh it's been 3 weeks". Okay, first could Amanda seriously put on that much weight in only 3 weeks? Second, if it was only 3 weeks and the show ended in May and at the time of the finale Willy was planning a June wedding, then pushed it back to a November wedding, how the heck are they doing the October issue of Mode? Mark states that (it) was going to be the best October issue.

If we're going by "it's been 3 weeks" then they'd still be in June or July -- which would make sense if they were putting together the October issue. Yesterday I had to turn in a layout for an ad my company's submitting in a local business magazine that's not coming out until December.

If we're going by real time (as in it's late September as well in the show), then there's NWIH they could be just putting the October issue together now. But I'm assuming they're following real time since that's what they did last season with their holiday themed episodes.

We already know that's what happened. Daniel doesn't know that's what happened though.

How I love this show. I can't believe that I refused to watch over half the first season because I thought it would be horrible.

I think she moved out of her house. I don't think she went anywhere. Or if she did go anywhere it was without Gio or Henry. That was the whole point of the episode. For Betty to grow beyond her normal abilities. It was shown when she leaped off the balcony instead of choosing in the dream sequence. Also it was first brought up when she was talking to Claire Mead regarding her article being changed and Claire told her that she needed to try new things, etc.

I LOVED Henry, but I kinda wanna see where Gio can take Betty. I love how she has so much potential with him, but with Henry she's locked into being the very best of the same old Betty. I hope that for at least this season, she goes back to Gio.

"I don't want to be the rebound guy, I want to be "THE GUY" Can you tell I'm still rolling around in delight and glee, swooning from this line that I have watched 40 times?!!!

Well she won't pick Henry and move to Arizona, that wouldn't really help the show out too much. It takes away the Meads, and just changes too much. The storyline with Henry has worn out, there's nothing else interesting or intriguing about it. Gio, on the hand, has a lot more possibilities.

Not a fan of the Hilda-Coach storyline

I think that she goes to Italy by herself to figure out her life-but I hope she picks Gio.

The Hilda-Coach storyline doesn't make sense. Daddy (Santos) will put a stop to it with a this is not how I raised you.

Daniel having a kid? This is really kind of strange.

Wilhemina having a third power over Mode before the baby is even born? Maybe they should have waited for the DNA test. I can't wait for that orderly/intern/doctor? to come out and say she coerced him into signing the witness statement.

I could see the Coach hiding something from a mile away! I knew it was too good to be true!

I don't know what what it is about Eddie Cibrian (aside from the fact that he is HOTT)...but something about him and the character he plays just screams, "PLAYAAAAAA!" :p

Yeah, I agree about the Hilda/Coach thing. Wrong wrong wrong but he is nice to look at!

Wait I missed something! The Coach has some secret?! Do tell what they revealed. I can't believe I missed it, I had my eyes glued to the tv. Maybe becuase I have a tendecy to "shut down" if America is not on the screen.

The coach's secret was that he is married.

I'm not sure about the whole Daniel and son deal, we shall see?

I'm thinking that Betty either chose to go to Rome with Gio or she chose to go somewhere by herself (as kind of a nay-nay-nay-nay) to the boys.

Question-Am I the only one who thinks that somewhere down the road in the show that eventually they (the writers) will try a Betty/Daniel relationship (only because they both called each other their best friends)? Whether it would 'work out" is to be seen, I just have a gut feeling that eventually the writers will "travel that road".

That doesn't make much sense to me either. If it was RL I would be demanding a paternity test before I gave her any authority in the company. Although being that this show plays like a soap opera (since it is based off of a telenova) I have a feeling that baby meade isn't actually baby meade.

Alexis is also starting to irk me. I loved how Daniel told her that he stood by her when advertisers were wanting to drop Mode due to her sex change and that she didn't do the same.

Yes-but I think it won't happen until the show is getting desperate for new ideas...and that will be the end of it all. It'll probably also happen once she gets rid of the braces and glasses.

Me too! but I love all of the dirty looks Mama Meade is giving in the background. I think she'll scheme up something. There's probably a family clause in the will that divides things into percentages or something-or says something about a grandchild being a tiebreaker.

I am so-o glad they got rid of Gene Simmons too. That was getting way old way quick.

Doesn't Mrs. Meade still own Mode exclusively? I seem to remember that Wilhemina could never get her hands on Mode because Bradford gave it to Claire and it was in her name. Sooooooo, shouldn't Claire get to say that Wilhemina can't be a part of Mode (either as Creative Director or Editor)? I mean, I know it's just a TV show and TPTB change the facts as they like but wasn't that original story?

I think the writers are going to have a hard time making Alexis likeable again after she has turned her back on her family a third time.

^^ Rebecca Romeijn (sp?) is pretty much tired of the show and is planning on leaving as soon as possible. I think after this season ( I heard this somewhere reliable I can't remember where though!) So Alexis doesn't really matter too much anymore.

I can't believe Coach is married! WTF?!

That baby is Bradford's as sure as the sun shines, but I too think it premature to give Willy power when the child isn't even present outside of a belly.

For anyone who's a fan of telenovelas, there have been MANY different countries' versions of Betty and she usually ends up with her boss (post makeover they live happily ever after). But allegedly they said America's (the country's) Betty is never going to change her looks for anyone. (Then she just wouldn't be Betty she'd be a very average girl!) So who knows? But it would be GROSS for her to be with Daniel, I'm sorry but that is Daniel and he's not good enough for her or smart enough for her or even hot enough for her (his spikes are too "frat-ish" and not enough "BUSINESSMAN" for me and so I can't take him seriously!)

I'll be so sad if she didn't go w/ Gio. They've made Henry too unlikeable (and I used to love him).

And that line Gio used -- it was like the best line ever! :D

Oh, and Perez Hilton's reporting that Victoria Beckham is going to be back for a while.

That was super weird that one time she was on the show. She had hardly any interactions with the cast members. She just stood around and posed. I know she was supposed to be stealing the spotlight from Wilhelmina, but you think she could've talked to her before the posing.

Daddy Suarez is Ignacio, not Santos. Santos was Hilde's HS boyfriend and Justin's dad. I Loved this episode! Who knew Willie had an arm like that, lol? And when Naomi took out her phone and everyone ducked, that was cute.

I want Betty to be with Gio. Henry is cool, but, like someone said, no growth opprotunity there..
