Hey all of you wonderful ladies!! My girlfriend is a Phi Mu at Florida State University. Her name is Taylor Nix. She is an extremely funny, outgoing, and beautiful girl. She is also a cheerleader for FSU.

I'm writing to you guys because she needs your help. She is in a contest for a sports magazine called Athlon Sports. They are having a contest called the Sideline Spirit contest and as of now, she is up against a girl, neck to neck. If she wins this round, she will move on to the final round where she has a chance at winning $1000, a 46" flatscreen tv, 2 camcorders, a boom box and best of all, A SPREAD IN ATHLON SPORTS MAGAZINE!!! How wonderful would it be to say you took part in getting a Phi Mu Sister in there.

We need everyones help on this. Vote as much as you can, as often as you can, until your precious fingers fall off. If you knew this girl, and how far she goes out of her way for her sorority you would completely understand that she would be more than willing to sit on the computer from dawn till dusk voting for any of you girls as well. I figured out what LIOB was in about 15 seconds...

I apparently am not allowed to know the real meaning of LIOB, but I like to guess from time to time..

Yeah, it's really not that hard, and I doubt it's ritual as I've seen multiple sororities use it.

Actually it's very meaningful to Phi Mus and I'm curious what other sororities use it? Cuz I've never heard of any.

I've seen SKs use it for example. I'm not saying it's not meaningful, but there's a difference between it and the use of AOT to sign things (don't even get me started on that).

I see PhiSigs use LITB a lot. Same difference. I think I've even seen an ASA or two use it, but not often.

I know there are fraternities that use YITB as well -- Phi Delts, Tekes, Kappas (KAY) and Theta Xis have all used it at GreekChat. And Delta Sigma Phi uses YITBOS.

Well, I did not see anyone respond with the meaning of LIOB, so I guess I will. It is not a secret and it is what we are to use as a salutation. We are also technically not suppose to use the abbrevated version "LIOB", although all of us are guilty of this, including me!!
LIOB means "Love In Our Bond"

Thanks for confirming that for everyone :p I have seen Sigma Kappas use it as we have our own bond. I don't know why people act like it's such a big secret. So many of our groups use LI__ for things it's not that hard to figure out. It's not ritual info.

I think it stems from acronym envy. :cool:

The problem is, some chapters think it's secret and others don't. Some chapters of ADPi use OBIC, others use PATA, but as far as I can tell, neither of those acronyms is secret (although, as I said before, some chapters think it is).

But, to get this back on track, I voted for the OP's girlfriend. I looked at the other contestants... and all I can say is that I'm glad there's not a sound bit with the girls' voices accompanying the pics. But, props to all of them for representing their school, division, etc...

I voted several times and I saw the other girl's numbers rise every few seconds! She must have a team of people just sitting at computers .....
