I was just given this site, and been having fun with it. It tells you how many people have your name in the United States, how common your first name is, how common your last name is.

The site isn't infallible, though, as it says that there's only one of me, when I know that there's two. According to that site, neither my mother or my brother exist. :rolleyes:

It says there are 0 people in the U.S. who have my first name, when I know at least 10 girls who have the same name as me.

It says there are 4 people with my married name.

I know that one of the others is in DES MOINES with my exact married name (including middle name), so I started adding my birth name as part of my name.

Pretty creepy when the police show up at your house with an arrest warrant for her.

I just check my credit report (which is bad enough because of *me*) and sure as shooting, there is obviously some of her stuff on there now too. It isn't even attempted identity theft as we have different ssn and birthdays (and she isn't using mine).

sigh.

You might want to put a temporary fraud alert on there even though it isn't intentional. At least contest the stuff that isn't yours.

There are 19 of me of the name I use, and my full name, there are 291. The thing that's weird is that my name isn't really THAT common or run of the mill. weird.

There is only 1 of me in the world. Not surprising given my uncommon first name.

Yep, me too. A big fat zero. NO ONE in the US with my name? that's not true-- I've seen five or six on myspace alone. And Scandia, I think one of your profs at Library Sci school has my name, too. So, that site is a big fat lie.

That happened to my dad when we lived in SC. There was a less than savory character in the same town we lived in with dad's exact name. He had a warrant out for his arrest for something (I can't remember what) and it was in the paper. Luckily the police chief went to our church (dad's a preacher), so he KNEW it wasn't dad. But it was still kinda funny/odd dealing with people in the community.

I know for a fact that I am the only person with my name and spelling. My first name is very popular but unique spelling and my last name? not very common at all. Same with my sister. As for my parents....6 others with my mom's name....her first name is very common. As for my Dad, there are 2....but since my dad is a Jr. I suspect they may mean his father, but since he is no longer part of the mortal coil...who knows.

I can say that everyone with my last name....is 90% (I have to give a little wiggle room) are "my people".

Apparently only 400ish people have my mom's maiden name - I never knew it was that unique!

I don't exist. :rolleyes: It tells me that no one in the U.S. has my name. I even tried it with my maiden name and I still don't exist.

There are 4 people in the U.S. with my name and over 2,000 people with my last name and spelling - I thought it was more unique than that but I guess I was wrong!

There are 118,167 people with my first name.

There are 565, 683 people with my last name.

There are 225 people with my first and last name. Over 88% of people with my first name are male.

I think looking your name up on Facebook is more accurate than this website.

According to it, there is no one with my mother's name.

There are 3 people with my maiden name (there are at least 5 on Facebook).

There is 1 person with my daughter's name (there are 10 on Facebook).

And yet it says you don't exist. :( (I just looked you up.) Apparently my high school boyfriend doesn't exist either. :confused:

There are 710 of me but only 5 of me with my original last name.

When I first got my current last name I had all these people calling me from Texas asking me strange questions. Then the police stopped by my apartment. Apparently one of "me" was wanted in Texas. They took one look at me and knew I wasn't the one who had been involved in criminal behavior as far back as 1972. I was only 6 years old then! :p

There were 0 other people with my first name, which I expected because I've never met anyone else with it. There are 252,079 people with my last name!

According to this, I don't exist either. Does that mean I don't have to go to work tomorrow?

This is my favorite line: More than 99.9 percent of people with the first name Rebekah are female. Really? There are parents out there mean enough to name their sons, Rebekah?

My mom really doesn't exist, her first name doesn't even come up since it's so unusual.

There are apparently several million people with my same first name, almost 58,000 people with my same last name, and 710 people with the same combination.

My step dad has a really common first and last name, and there happens to be another man who goes to our dentist with his name! He got an appointment reminder phone call that was meant for the other guy. (Pat figured it out because he wasn't due in for a few months...lol)

I don't think this is very accurate. There are zero people with my married name (hello! me!) and zero with my married last name (there are at least five of us - father in law made his own name when he immigrated to the US). However, there are three of my maiden name, and that is true! According to google, one is a real estate agent and breeds dogs, and the other is a teacher and runs marathons. The power of the internet!

Apparently there are 1,296 people in the US with my super common name :(

I tried running a few of my friends' less common names through this and I often got the answer of zero. Oh well.

What I found very amusing though is the fact that there are more people with the last name "Dingus" than with my last name. Man, that would suck, being named Dingus.

My names were soooo common. It makes me wonder what kind of beautiful, exotic first names some of you have when you say there is no one else with your name.

There are three other people in the US with my first and last name... but i found 5 on facebook... interesting

wow..15 people in the U.S. with my exact name. I've looked my name up on facebook before and found a one or two of my same name..its weird..haha
