ETA: Wait a minute. Carrie didn't have an assistant in the real show. I don't know if I'm so excited now. I need it to be a longer version of a show, not a movie-star mock-up. All love for J-Hud, kudos in advance if she does it up - but I have to have my SATC fix and it has to be right.

*breathing easier* Maybe this is a good thing. I'm open to it. I'm open to it. Either way it goes, I WILL be at the premiere. (Don't ask how, just know that I will.)

I just learned that Jennifer Hudson may join the cast of the movie. It should be quite the interesting scene.

i'm there. just because i really enjoy SATC.

With Jennifer Kate Hudson, there's discussion about whether her role, as Carrie's assistant, may be stereotypical. I don't have a problem with her taking it, as long as the coonablistic element is kept out. She's done a movie with Forest Whitaker, btw.

SATC didn't have many women of color or size in it, so it's a breakthrough of sorts.

I'm right there with you :) I can't wait myself. The series ended on such an open note that I'm really interested in seeing where it picks up for the movie. I think it totally makes sense that Carrie would have an assistant - when the series ended her book had blown up.

I heart SATC!!!! I think I will have to dust off my season 1 DVDs!!

I want her role to be minimal.

i can totally see that. but that would seem out of character for the way SATC is made... i can't see them casting her as a "uh huh oh no you didnt you work it girl!" chick. maybe theyre going for the "carrie's assistant who happens to be black?"

i dunno, giving the benefit of the doubt. but on a more selfish note, can Blair Underwood make a cameo, please? thanks!

After seeing this trailer, I am excited about this movie.

I always thought the show was really smart and well-done (hopeful, heartbreaking, and heartwarming), but I wasn't sure that they could recapture the magic after so long.

From the trailer, it seems that they have done just that.

I had to watch the trailer to be sure it was the same thing I saw on another site. I'm SOOOO excited about this movie!!! :D

WOO HOO!!! I'm so excited about the movie. The whole cast will be on Oprah today to talk about the movie. My DVR is already set.

To commemorate the movie, I'm having a Sex In The City Martini Party with some Sorors and friends!!! Then, we are going to go see the movie (hopefully, we won't be too inebriated). From the trailer, I really hope that Carrie ends up with Big. They've been through too much. :eek: @ Steve and :eek::eek::D @ Charlotte!!!

I hope Samantha and Smith stay together. He brought out the good in her. Plus, he's sooooooooooooooooo hot.

My local movie theatre is set up like a lounge, so me and my girls will be having martinis as we watch the movie! :D

I bought my ticket today and I can not wait to see it!!!!

After tormenting my poor, defenseless household all month with a recap (read: I watched every single episode of the show, some twice), I'll be seeing this at 12:30 tonight. I'm officially a junkie.

I am trying to see if I can catch a matinee....I know the night time shows are going to be sold out...

I wonder when it coming out on DVD. [OK, I know the movie hasn't even been out for a whole week yet, but I WANT IT!! LOL!]

I completely loved the movie and I will be seeing it again!

The movie was great! I thought it picked up where it should have, considering it was 5 years later.

I definitely will be buying it on DVD.

ETA: I will say that there are a few soft core scenes so even though no one under 18 should be going to see it anyway, if anyone is thinking of taking a young neice I would advise against it.

I loved this movie as well. I rarely go to see a movie in the theaters more than once, but I could definitely stand to see this one on the big screen again. As for the people under 18 going, I kind of agree. My boyfriend's little sis went with her mom, and ended up wishing she hadn't.

Yup, the movie was the HOTNESS!!!!

Loved the movie!! Didn't like the lady behind me with her children (a baby and youngin).

This movie was stunning. My eyes were red and puffy. Since I didn't bring tissues, I didn't full-on cry. I have a feeling, however, I will see this one again because I don't know if any of my favorite sorors have seen it.

Glad they're coming back. I have caught bits and pieces on HBO and I realize why I love this concept so much.:)
