Favorite Buffett Song
 

Since we've got a roll call of Parrotheads here, I figured we should do a topic about favorite Jimmy Buffett songs. (Note his name is spelled Buffett - two Ts http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif )

My top 5 are:

Hmmmm... There are SO many. Let's see... in no particular order:

Don't give me grief all you Parrotheads, but I am totally unfamiliar with Jimmy Buffett although I am sure I have heard his songs on the radio and just don't know it! Since so many of my fellow Greeks are apparently nuts about him, I think I will pick up one of his CD's and see what the fuss is about! So, my question is...if I am going to buy one Buffett CD, which one should it be? Thanks!

If you're going to buy any one CD, pick up "Songs You Know By Heart". That has the best known Buffett songs on it, and gives you an idea of what kind of music he plays. You'll love it, I promise!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I have nothing but love for Brother Buffett (a Brother in APO and Kappa Sigma) My favorites are Margaritaville, Who's the Blonde Stranger, and of corse, Why don't we get drunk and screw!!!

I would have to say that some of my favorite songs are pretty much the entire songs you know by heart cd and False Echoes, Last Mango in Paris, Jamaica Mistaica, Stars Fell on Alabama, Bob Robert's Society Band, and Mental Floss, to name a few.

I was just wondering how you found out that he was a brother of APO? I thought that his only greek roots were at Auburn University where he pledged Sigma Nu, but didnt get initiated and he transfered to the university of southern mississppi and joined Kappa Sig? Just wonderin.

Come Monday and Margaritaville are my top two, along with son of a son of a sailor . . . well--there isn't one I DON'T like--and that's pretty amazing for ANY artist . . .

I guess you liked it, huh? heehee I don't know anyone who has listened to Buffett and not enjoyed his music! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Now, try getting the box set "Beaches, Bars, Boats, and Ballads" (I don't think the title is in that order, I never can remember which B comes first!) That's a wonderful collection of Buffett tunes!

Good call - also a key pickup: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays - live stuff. Nothing better than being one of the select few to yell out "bubblebubblebubblebubble" at the proper time during margaritaville . . . plus, Buffett's one of those artists whose live work is just as good as the studio stuff - anyway, seems like we're building a library of buffett for ya, but look into it if you get i chance i guess

Hubby & I have the box set - YUMMYRIFIC! We love Buffet and this set is just too great to pass up. That is 99% of all we ever play. Everybody here at work comes out to listen over the rail (I sit in the middle of a large foyer with a double staircase) as I belt out my Buffet tunes -- more than once I have embarrassed myself http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif!

Favortie Buffet Song at this moment: Why don't we get drunk

Though they're his more sad songs, I love:
"He went to Paris" and "Come Monday"
I also Love the usuals and "Fins"

My personal favorites are One Particular Harbor and Tin Cup Chalice. I love anything off A1A.

I forgot all about Tin Cup Chalice!! Add that to my previous list!
