Survivor 2

Okay, let's talk about Survivor 2...any bets yet on who will be the "Richard" of Survivor 2?

Unregistered- 02-03-2001 04:06 AM

Initially I thought that Kel had a good chance of making it toward the end, and I was very irate http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/mad.gif when he got booted off. I mean, his "chewing grass" story seemed kinda odd, but he's in the Army--and lots of people in the military know what they can/cannot eat when they're out in the wild. That snot nose Jerri should've gotten the boot, and I think she's next, but I think it's pretty evident that the Ogakor tribe's two-faced.

I'd like it for Amber to win, but I noticed that she hasn't been featured much as others have been in their confessionals, so we really don't know how or what she's thinking.

Now that Kel's gone, I have a feeling the gourmet chef may have a chance (I can't remember his name). I don't know why, but he somewhat reminds me of Richard, and I could see him playing the spoiler.

Miami1839 02-03-2001 09:07 AM

OTW,

I totally agree with you on Kel. I was pretty disappointed. I think the grass eating and the part where he was really nice to the group gave him the boot. That made no sense to me. It seems like their keeping the weakest and most disliked ones in the group. Kind of makes you wonder how good the show is going to be as it unfolds.

Kevin

HeidiHo 02-03-2001 08:10 PM

I hope people in Jerri's tribe realize that she'd just going to cause trouble, like she did w/ Kel, & boot her. I know it's not a smart bet, but I really like Rodger. He teaches a class at a high school near me on how to actually build a house. Not just wood shop, but building a house. I also give him many props for jumping off that cliff-he doesn't know how to swim.

Hey! I LOVE Survivor2--I am more hooked than on the first one!

I too like Rodger! Seems like a sweet guy--one who wouldn't play tricks with you. But i don't think he can win with that http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif I like Amber, too. I also like Maralyn (the corrections officer). She seems like she could be the winner...and she isn't bossy as of yet...

I hate Jeff! Yuck. I also don't like Kimmi (sp?), and Jerri.

COLBY fans: BAd news. Next week, Jerri and Colby either hook up or do some intense flirting http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif I wonder if Colby and Amber will hook up?

**Warning - Rant to Follow**

I am totally pi$$ed at this whole stupid show -- I am not believing they are actually filming these people killing animals on TV -- and this psycho goes and puts the pig blood under his eyes??? Someone is way too into "Lord of the Flies" or something!

And we wonder why violence in our schools is where it is -- maybe its because we are showing kids that its okay to run around killing stuff for the fun of it.

These people are not "surviving" - they are out playing in the woods for tv ratings. As proven on the last show, they all have fresh water and food available to them 24/7. Why is eating bugs and cowbrains in a contest considered "surviving"? If you want to get my attention, drop them all buck naked in the water with not one single thing and let them really survive. Sheesh - I am sorry but this whole concept of "reality tv" is just stupid!

CutiePie2000 02-16-2001 02:39 PM

This psycho goes and puts the pig blood under his eyes??? Someone is way too into "Lord of the Flies" or something!

Yes, that was definitely "Lord of the Flies"....it made feel pretty ill!

ISU_XO 02-16-2001 03:12 PM

I think it is a total set-up. One minute they kill a chicken- next minute it looks like they are eating Kentucky Fried Chicken or Boston Market chicken. Same with the pig-
they never showed them doing the dirty work of cleaning the animals- just the end result- looked very unbelievable to me! (like everything is being set up for them) and trust me- the killing part grossed me out enough - I do not want to see the cleaning process!

About the pig incident:
I know...people have to eat, but Mr. Lord of the Flies wannabe just went too far with the pig blood. We know he killed it, but did they really have to show that?? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/mad.gif Next week I can't wait to see Kimmi go down!!! I respect vegetarians and their principles, but seriously, the Outback is no place to start a No Meat alliance.

About Ogakor:
They screwed up when the lost Kel. I think Jerri's a conniving little @#$@# and I feel sorry for Amber http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif because she's Jerri's little puppet. Now that Mitch's gone Tina and Keith might have an easier time booting the $%^#@ off, but who knows where Colby will swing next?

About Kucha:
It'd be easy to say that Kimmi will get the boot next judging from next week's previews, but something tells me someone else will--a guy, I hope!

AXOALUM------I TOTALLY agree.

I turned the show off the second they killed that chicken. I didn't even know there was a pig involved too. That is disgusting. Was it really necessary to kill those animals? How can one chicken POSSIBLY feed like 8 adults? They killed that poor animal because they are selfish and only think about themselves. I was so sick thinking about it last night. I will never watch the show again.

I totally respect Kimmi's views. She has been a vegetarian for 10 years. So why should she change now? Meat is NOT necessary for survival----especially for just one month. I thought they were going to use the chickens for eggs. That one guy who was holding the knife had a VERY disturbing look on his face. Almost as if he were possessed!!!

I'm not trying to force my vegetarian/animal rights views on anyone! Just trying to explain how disgusted I felt last night. That station definitely lost my viewership.

Yes, he definitely looked psychopathic. I would be afraid to fall asleep with that lunatic running around with a sharp hunting knife. Very scary, indeed.

Although I don't like Jeff from Kucha, I think he has the same oily Richard Hatch personality to make it into the Top 4...and so, here are my predictions for the Top 4:
1. Alicia
2. Jeff
3. Keith (I think he'll last longer than Jerri would like)
4. Colby

(I'm a bit unsure about 3 and 4, but I feel pretty strong about 1 & 2)

Nothin against Kimmy's views but she knew beforehand that she would probably be eating meat/and or bugs. If she can't compromise her morals (which I applaud her for), then she isn't prepared to win.

So they killed a chicken and a pig. It's not the end of the world. There's no way those chickens were gonna produce any eggs, and the way they killed the chicken was in the most humane possible - similar to something used in a slaughterhouse. Last time I checked, the animals we eat aren't given shots to put them to sleep.

It's so easy for us to judge people when we're not in their situation. We don't know how hungry they are, and how much their bodies need protein and other nutrients that are found in both chicken and pig. I'm just playing devil's advocate, I don't condemn Mike for what he did (minus the blood on his face), I know I would be right there in line for some ham and bacon http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Mike gets my vote to win - not that I necessarily want him to - but that guy has the best instinct to survive.

I don't think that anyone was trying force Kimmi to eat meat, people are just getting irritated with her preaching--and we'll get to see that next week. Did you honestly think that they were only going to use the chicken for eggs? You got 6 starving people out there--and they weren't going to limit themselves to just eggs! And I don't think that there's anything selfish about trying to feed yourself.

If Michael didn't kill the pig, then someone else would've done it. But I do agree the blood thing was a bit much.

YES!!! I honestly thought they would eat eggs. I thought that's why they had the rooster with the 3 hens--to produce lots of eggs to cook! Seriously!!! I think that's especially why I was so upset when I realized they were going to kill them.

"Nothin against Kimmy's views but she knew beforehand that she would probably be eating meat/and or bugs."

I still don't think Kimmi should have to change to be a contestant on a show. If I remember correctly (and I'm not sure if I do...) they didn't eat any bugs on Survivor I. So why should she expect to eat them there? Just a rhetorical question---no one needs to answer http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I have survived about 8 years without meat. I'm doing fine and don't have to take any vitamin supplements or anything. That is why I said they were "selfish" to have to kill the poor chicken just to eat a little piece of it. It just seems to be a waste. Again....just a personal opinion. It IS possible to live your whole life without meat.

http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

Lil_G 02-17-2001 12:15 AM

I can't see the chickens producing any eggs in a small, confined area. Also, i'm sure they would eat the chickens before they merged with Olgakor because they don't want any of them eating their food.

What I said about Kimmy came out wrong. I meant to say that she must have seen from the last show that there weren't many fruits & vegetables to eat. Knowing this, she would be at a disadvantage because she would be eating less than everyone she's competing against. She definitely has strong character and values, but if she continues to press her beliefs on the others she'll be the next to go.

AXO Alum 02-17-2001 12:19 PM

Okay - let me just say that I am not trying to push my vegetarianism on others (but no I do not eat meat because of the "modern" slaughterhouses) --- I just think that meat eater or not, there is no place on national tv to be showing them killing things. We have enough violence in society today -- do we really need this?

And its not really for survival (why is spinning a wheel with gross things to eat considered surviving?) -- like I said, drop them all in the water totally "nekid" and let them REALLY have to survive. Its just a sick game show. There is a reason those "Faces of Death" movies have been banned.

So I am not saying "Let's all be vegetarians and commune with nature" -- that's not me at all (I even buy and cook meat for my family - I just don't choose to eat it). I just don't think they need to be showing it on TV. I have never watched the show and I have no idea who or what is on it (but I have heard that Kimmie or whatever is giving vegetarians a bad name) -- I just know that when I hear the radio personality in the morning (who normally doesn't shudder at anything) shuddering at the thought of what they did to a pig on national tv, it must be bad.

I am not "judging" these people -- they are willing to do anything for a buck...I am judging the tv show for allowing it to go this far for the sake of ratings.

Miami1839 02-17-2001 06:11 PM

Now that I've read your guys reviews from last weeks epsiode I dont feel bad I missed it. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I'm definitely a meat and potatoes kind of guy. I dont think I would be strong enough to loyally stick to a vegetable diet. I'm not sure either if I would of killed a chicken or not in their situation. I guess it would depend on the options. Then again its Hollywood. I guess they could of ate grass http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I haven't been able to watch the show for the last few weeks, since I have class on Thursday nights and I don't want to keep my roommates from using the TV/VCR when I'm not home. But I read up on everything on the official Survivor web site.

It sounds like Mike felt he had something to prove...he had been talking about catching a pig for a couple of weeks now, and I think he was so pumped when he finally caught it that he just had to celebrate. Smearing the blood on his face was his defiant, triumphant gesture. I don't know if I would have felt comfortable watching that though. I'll eat the meat, but I don't want to watch it being killed.

Jerri is hot, but I have to agree that she's a b#%&h. I guess that's the way you have to play the game. She's there to win, not be everyone's friend, same as Rich was. She'll probably make it pretty far, but I don't see her winning. Rodger might have a chance because he's the really nice older guy, but he might get snakebit at the end too. Who can say?

ilovemyglo 02-19-2001 02:19 PM

Just a little info.... they did eat bugs in the first show. It was one of the first episodes. Jerich lost it because he couldn't stomach the bugs.

What a major plot twist last night, with Mike burning his hands and having to leave. I think Mike had a good chance of at least making it to the Final Four. If Mike hadn't been injured, he would have been around for the immunity challenge, which Kucha probably would have won.

It was evident by last night that Kucha had the mental and psychological edge over Ogakor. The people in Ogakor were all depressed because they kept losing, and were doing a lot of bickering among themselves. So if they had lost the immunity challenge, I think Jerri would have gotten the boot. Colby was getting sick of her, Keith obviously dislikes her, and Tina probably would have sided with Keith. So honestly, I think Jerri is darn lucky that Mike got hurt. She dodged a bullet big time. Now with the tribes merging, who knows what can happen?!

I was disappointed when Mike burned his hands, he was my pick to go all the way. He was the most capable of winning, and in my opinion was the strongest member in kucha.
Kucha would have definitely won the immunity challenge - they were in strong spirits and were eating much better than Olgakor. It would have been 6-4 but now it's 5-5 which may have started two voting blocks.
My vote now is on Colby, if he goes down early, then this season is gonna suck like the last one.

juniorgrrl 03-03-2001 02:42 PM

I was really sad to see Mike leave. He was my favorite on the show, just becasue he was so crazy. He said he'd get them a pig and he did. He was just crazy enough to make his plans work. (Yes the gore and blood was a bit much, but that's why they call the show Survivor, not Dennys) He was my pick for winner.

I also liked him because his profile listed him as a Parrothead (Jimmy Buffett fan) and hey, us Parrotheads gotta stick together http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I think that Amber and Elisabeth are going to battle it out for the "quiet cutie" spot in the final few - the spot held by Colleen last season. There isn't room for both of them. Rodger (who I also love) is this season's counterpart to Rudy, except a little less curmudgeony. He'll probably be around for awhile. I think Jerri got too coniving too soon, and thus she'll get the boot early on.

Alumnus who cares 03-04-2001 11:39 PM

Obviously it's hard to pick who might be the winner right now. So who does everyone think is going to be in the "Final Four"? That's a tough one too. Now that the tribes have merged, it's really hard to predict who will get voted off next, because people will no longer vote for someone because they are bringing their team down or because they lost the last immunity challenge.

So if I had to make picks, I would say Colby, Alicia, Nick, and Jeff.

IowaHawkeye 03-05-2001 04:31 AM

ugh!!!! don't get me started on amber... her jerry butt kissing drives me up a wall.. though their little ode to chocolate and "MEATBALL SUBS" did make me chuckle last week http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif i like elisabeth and rodger, they're so sweet to each other!

The show isn't called "Medical Emergency to the Rescue" either --- if it were a true "survivor" show, then the man would be in trouble, huh? I personally like the Eco-Challenge they show on Animal Planet, and a couple of other channels when it is repeated. Those people TRULY have to work for the prize -- and if someone gets hurt and they have to call for assistance -- too bad - the whole team loses. Now that is REAL teamwork with none of the sappy soap opera stuff worked in. This show is so fake - they are given food and water each day and are supposed to add in as much drama as possible -- otherwise you end up with a boring show like Temptation Island where everyone stayed together.

The only thing I cannot figure out is how they keep the results so secret -- yeah I know they sign contracts -- but people would spill if the money were enough!

juniorgrrl 03-05-2001 04:55 PM

The terms of the contract are what keeps people silent. Revealing anything before the end of the show is grounds for either a lawsuit or a fine, or both. Spilling the beans could cost these people lots of money - I think a couple hundred thousand.

HeidiHo 03-05-2001 05:18 PM

I heard something like $500,000 or $5,000,000 fine if you tell. Either way it's worth your while to keep mum.
I just love Rodger. Not only is he super sweet, but he's so smart. Who else knew how to clean & cut the fish, pig, and chicken? Who knew that you could eat chicken feed? Who knows how to build a house? He is too handy. I hope he wins.
Heidi

Lil_G 03-14-2001 10:34 PM

So alicia got the boot, did anyone see that coming?
I think Olgakor wanted another cushion of 5-3 before they voted vs one of their own (jerri). That way they can get rid of her while still maintaining the voting block.
Kucha has no one to blame for themselves for voting vs colby in the last tribunal.

Alumnus who cares 03-14-2001 11:08 PM

Lil_G, I agree all the way. Last week, it seemed like Kucha had the right idea by pooling all of their votes against one Ogakor member. But come on, out of the 5 people, they had to choose Colby? I'm sure if they sat down and really thought about it, they could have guessed that either Jerri or Keith had at least one or two votes against them. Kucha and Ogakor had the same strategy, but Ogakor was much smarter.

Going into Tribal Council tonight, I was sure it was going to be Jerri or Elisabeth. The key was going to be if Elisabeth's scheming to get Tina and Keith on the Kucha side would work, or if it was going to blow up in her face. I wouldn't have predicted Alicia, except for the fact that she is a strong member (a badass, to put it bluntly) and Ogakor guessed that it would be safest to get her out of the way.

The big question remains if Elisabeth or anyone else can sway Ogakor members to the Kucha side. I like your idea about the remaining Ogakor members making sure they had a two-person cushion before getting rid of Jerri. I'm convinced now that even if Jerri makes it to the Final Four, there's no way she will win. No one on the jury will vote for her over someone like Colby or Keith. And what a slap in the face it would be if Amber, Jerri's lapdog, ends up winning!

Am I correct in assuming that next week's episode will be nothing but outtakes from past episodes? That's what the preview is leading us to believe.

33girl 03-14-2001 11:21 PM

I cannot stand Jerri!! I really think Amber needs to get away from her - I think her closeness to Jerri will hurt her in the end. And hey Tina, backstab much? I think she's the biggest manipulator of the group.

Lil_G 03-15-2001 01:31 AM

Hahahahaha, you guys both bring up good points. A lot of the things vs Jerri really made it seem like she's on the chopping block. During dinner without jerri and amber, i had to laugh at some of the comments made: (keith) it's so quiet here, what part of the puzzle is missing, I don't know? (alicia) did you say amber's face when she was picked, like she was selected as beauty queen, c'mon.

At the beginning I used to like Amber Because she's a fellow greek, but I can't see her going very far - She is a jerri-lapdog. It's good to see that colby is managing to 'sit on both sides of the fence', if he goes early, this season will suck a$$ like last season.

I honestly think Jerri will get the boot next week. Keith and Colby are bright guys, they know there's a split in their tribe.
If they worry about Kucha too much, it will be very easy for amber and jerri to break away from the Olgakor voting block, side with the remaining Kucha members, and shock Keith or Tina with a suprise vote vs either one.
It will be interesting to see what unfolds next week. It seems Colby is the only one who is really thinking three moves ahead.
Let's hope Jerri gets the vote next week (since nobody likes her), this aspiring actress has already used her 15 minutes of fame.

Lil_G 03-15-2001 01:32 AM

I missed the previews and Alicia's comments. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif
What did she say?

Unregistered- 03-15-2001 02:29 AM

I had a feeling Jerri was going to last another week.

Despite Ogakor's feelings toward Jerri (except for Amber of course), they knew that they couldn't let Barramundi have even amounts of the two tribes.

Jerri will definitely get the boot next week. There is no way in heck that the team's going to put up with her...and there's nothing that Amber can do to save her.

My picks for the final four? Elisabeth, Keith, Tina, and Rodger. Colby will probably be seen as a strong threat. Amber I don't know...I can see the others turning against her in the near future. She's a fellow AGD and all, but that thing she's got going with Jerri makes me ill! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/mad.gif

I seriously need a break from reality TV. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/rolleyes.gif

As much as I hope Jerri gets the boot sooner rather than later, I was a little bit happy for her when she won the reward challenge. She has always gotten so excited when hearing that a challenge involves food, and she was always so crushed when her team would lose. I know Jeff felt the same way, and that's why he let her read the menu. But still, I was hoping that that fancy meal last night would be her last meal on the island!

Eclipse 03-15-2001 06:13 PM

I have not been as "into" this one as the others, but I think Jerri is going to stick around for a while and here's why: The last 9 survivors get to play jury for the final 2 or 3 (I can't remember). Wouldn't you love to be the last man (or woman) standing with Jerri? Who do you think the rest of the folks would vote for to win the million?

Look what happened last year with Richard, that's exactly what Kelly was hoping for...I personnaly think that jury thing is bullshit, there should be a best two out of three type challenge for the final two.
Jerri won't last another tribunal unless she wins immunity.

For some reason this song's stuck in my head...

"DING DONG THE WITCH IS DEAD...WHICH OLD WITCH? THE WICKED WITCH.."

Sorry, I know that was mean, but I did a dance of joy when Jerri got the boot.

Things are definitely going to get interesting now with only 7 of them left. Unless Nick gets immunity again next week (which I doubt), I have a feeling he's going to go next. Either him or Amber.

I feel sorry for Amber. She practically has no friends left. Ideally it would be nice to see an AlphaGam win, but realistically, I don't thihk she has a chance.
