Hi everyone!

I was watching Paula's home cooking on the food network and she was preparing an anniversary dinner for her son Jamie and daughter in law Brooke. Several videos of their wedding were shown including a clip of Brooke surrounded by her sorority sisters while singing a song and passing around a candle. Does anyone know what sorority she was in?

Hmmmm...I can't find her on the Chi Omega roster.

Her name is Brooke Terry Dean, age 25. Let's see what else I can find out about her.

I didn't find her on the Gamma Phi Beta roster either.

Hmm... in my chapter, we do the candle thing @ weddings. I'm not sure if other chapters/sororities do. I looked her up, but didn't find anything. =( It'll be interesting to find out!

Is Terry the middle or maiden name?

She's not on ASA's list.

What college did she go to? I doubt we will find her on a GLO inter/national famous alumnae list - but maybe on a chapter website.

If your GLO has SisterCircle - you can search for anyone who's been initated.

Sigma Kappa can't lay claim to her either.

I need a chapter or I can't check for my GLO (unfortunately if we had a chapter then we'd know the org!)

I'd check to see if she was an Alpha Phi, but i dont know how to check! haha

I have a question: How do we know that these were sorority sisters? What if she was in the Glee Club or something and they were serenading her?

I love to watch Paula, and her sons are both cute, but I'm finding this thread interesting reading just to compare online database capabilities.

I searched by maiden name and last name, and she is not a Kappa. Nor is anyone else named Brooke Terry, or Brooke Deen.

Looks like the Deen boys are UGA fans, but not sure of Brooke's alma mater.

Not Phi Mu, unless she went to school outside of Georgia. But, as alot of others, to search you need a chapter name. Our ten some odd chapters in GA was all I cared to look through!

Since we're on the subject, I heard that Brad Pitt's second cousin's god-daughter was in a sorority at Arizona State. Anybody know that one?

I don't know where she went to college but I'm thinking somewhere in GA. I know these are her sorority sisters, not glee club members because she explained the candle passing ritual to Paula.

There is a Brooke Terry from Georgia Southern listed on the Zeta sisters list. Not sure if this is her or not.

Is there any information on initiation date or when she graduated?

Unfortunately that's all I have. I wish there was someone from the Zeta chapter or one of the chapters at GA Southern on here to confirm it. If Brooke and Jamie are around the same age, I'm guessing she was probably initiated in the late 80s.

Brooke is 25 and Jamie is 39. , She may have gone to Georgia Southern. I know that Paula's other son Bobby attended Georgia Southern for a short period of time. If she's 25/26, she would have been initiated in either 1999 or 2000. Oh another thing... during the candle passing they were singing a song i remember some of the words. "We'll be together forever... and you'll know who we are by ther songs that we sing." Thanks gaangel5!

I'll ask my oldest, she's 25 and was Greek at Southern at the time.

Oh yeah, she's a Zeta! We sing "Today and Forever" during candlelights and many other events.

I like Paula Dean; she's the quintessential down home Southern cook. I'll never forget the time she said, being somewhat self-referential,that the particular recipe she pepared was for "crackers." Funny!

Alpha Gam sings the same song but with some of the words different.

Amen sister! I'm so glad it has been confirmed. My confirmation was based upon the words from the candlelight.
