How's that for sophistication?

When I went to Italy, and I finally found myself sitting on a bench in front of that painting in the Uffizi, the museum staff shooed me out early and I've been bitter about Florence ever since.

You'd be better off at the freaking World of Coke.

(Not really about the World of Coke, but I'm not a florence fan. That I really mean.)

At least you got into the Uffizi, we didn't make it as the line was 2 hours long to get in.

I'm more of a Caravaggio fan myself.

Really, Drolefille, really?

This totally makes up for the Indy car thing.

Doesn't it seem to you that Caravaggio and Bernini should be more famous than they are?

(Did you see the recent PBS deal on Caravaggio? I didn't but I ended up having an interesting conversation with my mom about chiaroscuro because she saw it.)

icelandelf 07-31-2007 11:15 PM

We never got in to see it either, although my favorite is still the Birth of Venus.

I think I'm going to dress up as Zephyrus for Halloween.

That would rock. I'm interested in the details.

Don't you really want to call it Venus on the Half shell? You know you do.

Lol I did not see that. (woot chiaroscuro) I learned about him first in art class and fell in love. I got separated from my group in Rome because I HAD to take a picture of one of his paintings in a church. (It said no pictures but no one else was listening) I walked all the way back from Saint Luigi dei Francesi's to the Spanish steps. That is not a short walk, but I didn't know the buses well enough to try them.

There are actually 3 Caravaggios there.

Just make sure it is plain, regular Budweiser...not like, Budweiser Select or anything.

Can you even get Natty Light in a bottle? Baby, I think we're talking straight our of the can, which might even be a step down from straight out of the bottle.

How about out of a plastic pitcher or straight from the tap? (into a RED solo cup).

Eww... the only reason to drink that stuff is if you're a broke college student
with $8 to your name and a goal to be drunk in 2 hours.

Drolefille 08-01-2007 12:41 PM

At my sister's wedding two weekends ago, she and all of us bridesmaids did an obligatory kegstand. Oh, and then three of us bridesmaids jumped into the pool in our bridesmaids dresses. We were the height of sophistication.

Actual action shot...my photo-uploading habits have dwindled as of late and I'm just now getting my pics on the computer!
