R Thread Codes
 

So, Fellow Voyeurs, what do you like to see used as the "codes" for the various sororities in R threads? We've seen so many - Candy, Countries, Jewels, Colors, Dogs, etc - but do you have a favorite? Or a suggestion for some eager PNM?

I think Senusret I should assign all the code names from now on.

Everything else is just lame.

I don't like the codes. I'd rather wait until they come back and post it all at once-- and read the story once recruitment is over with the real names... the codes get too confusing!!!

I agree, codes are confusing! :(

But if there must be a code I prefer simple things like colors, animals, maybe shapes? lol... maybe even numbers. I find that anything that are people's names, designers, etc. are very difficult for me to follow... I'm better with things that I can relate with (the aforementioned).

Codes for the group names confuse me but I think it's more a question of the number of groups rather than the codes.

I'd really like the threads to be posted after recruitment is over so that they could use real chapter names. If you're going to reveal the key at the end, you aren't really sparing anyone's feelings or being tactful in a way that using them throughout wouldn't.

When I opened this thread, I hoped it would be about new abbreviation codes, like R for rush or recruitment. I'm hoping of IDOC for "it depends on the campus" which really is the answer to most questions.

Can I get a bid as a junior? IDOC.

But you know that if people posted their R threads right after R, then we'd hear a lot of griping because some folks don't like retro threads. I am not kidding here.

I don't REALLY consider someone posting their thread the day after they rush "retro". I consider someone posting their thread one year to 20 years after their rush "retro".

I say, post the chapters if it is the next day or so. Codes for the live versions, although they do get confusing. I prefer the live versions, so I'm hoping a few are still posted!

I like codes because I like to guess. For me it's more fun that way. Plus then the PNM can feel free to stick her foot in her mouth as far as she likes.

I like character names from plays, movies, etc. :) It's always funny if a house ends up living up to its randomly assigned character.

This is what I'd like to see. Names that when you do official reveal them match up with how you named the chapters.

Seriously, this made my day. I also think it would be pretty funny if someone who had been lurking for awhile used GC usernames as their code.... of course that would also become a trainwreck pretty quickly.

Has anyone done movie titles? They could be matched personality-wise as well: classics, action/adventure, drama, horror...lol:p

For smaller rushes (oh shit I said rush!) I think different ways of using Cocaine would be interesting. I hate rush threads but I'd read that one.

I'm going with the generic R. I'm tired of being PC, yet not ready to offend. Yet. :D


But I REALLY love the idea of using different GreekChatter's screen names! That would be a hoot, especially if someone said something like SoandSo was the trampy blonde sorority...!

What about using names of favorite cereals? or airlines? (Delta would be too easy to guess!) or European cities? or fish? or birds? (an owl, perhaps?)

I'm pretty sure Mysticat is the obvious choice for maximum humor although Senusret I appeals to me too.

I have a brilliant beyond brilliant idea. (Thank you new Parent Trap with 11 year pre-cocaine LiLo).

The codenames will be the names of sororities. But instead they're mixed up. You go to Sigma Kappa and call it ADPi, ADPi becomes KAT, etc etc. that thread can only end well.

I didn't feel comfy at AlphaFrog...they were too sarcastic, and it all went over my head...
