I guess I would like...
a sleek, fast, black convertible http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

bebe_cHiCk17 04-09-2001 10:48 PM

oh wowies! i dont have a car either! sadness! my brother and sister do (brother 20 and sister 18) they are totally outrageously spoiled, and they sorta screwed up in high school after he got them a car, so he's glad im goign to be the first of his kids to graduate so he kinda wants to make sure he doesnt repeat the mistake.

IN this case, I get whatever car i want almost this coming christmas when their cars and lawyer fees are paid off! wahooo
*bmw 330ci

Right now I have a Blue 1997 Honda Civic LX/4 DR that I got my senior year in high school (although I only got my license after I finished my first year of college). The car was supposed to convince me to stay home for college...and obviously, it worked. "BOO", as I affectionately like to call my car, has been through it all...dents, chipped bumpers, and the best one--smashing the driver's side door. Thankfully, I have a cousin who owns his own body shop.

I don't know what my dream car is yet...I've always been into SUVs...but all those consumer reports have been claiming that most of them rank at the bottom of those safety tests, so I don't know...

I cuurently have a 1992 Taurus that is gray on the outside, blood red inside! I call it "Armadilla" (for the Bleedin' Armadilla's Groom's Cake from "Steel Magnolias")

I don't have a dream car, but a dream lifestyle and that includes having a driver and a limo to take me back and forth to work as a university president at a prominent northeastern university!!

juniorgrrl 04-10-2001 11:33 AM

Right now, I drive a dark green 95 Mitsubishi Galant (a hand me down).

My dream car would be a BMW z3 convertible, in silver.

I have a thing for European cars. I cannot STAND American cars, and I refuse to drive them. I'm thinking my next car will be a 4Runner or something along those lines.

USFSDTAlum 04-10-2001 01:21 PM

juniorgrrl ditto on the american car thing. however they are not bad cars, (anymore). i think it stems from how bad they were not too long ago. Anyway:
I have a Silver Civic Ex/Coupe (like every other sister in my soroity practically--thats how I new i had picked the right one http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif)
and i want either: a porshe (sp?) boxster in silver, a yellow jeep wrangler, or that new lexus convertible with the hard top in the french commercials.....

matthewg 04-10-2001 02:57 PM

I have a really old Honda Civic that gives me nothing but trouble - bad luck!
And I would like to have an old VW beetle convertible or an Audi A4, that would be nice, too http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

lifesaver 04-11-2001 12:21 AM

As most on here know, I just bought a Slightly used (15K mi) Ford F-150 and I love it. It is such an improvment over the Stanza I had. She could go no more. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif I just got the windows tinted, and got a pretty cool JVC CD player put in it. On the next paycheck I am getting some descent speakers and probably a brushguard. After that, I'll probably put a small (3 inches or so) lift on it and be done with it. I like doing stuff to it, gives me something to look forward to. Anyway, way happy. I have named her Kimber. Long story, but a sorority girl I know better than I'd like.

Billy Optimist 04-11-2001 03:09 AM

Lifesaver, lol. So Kimbers a 4 wheel drive right? Man, I know someone who put a lift on two wheel drive, and flip it over into a swamp. I wanna hook mine up this summer, after I get a job. Keep your fingers crossed y'all.

Unregistered- 04-11-2001 03:44 AM

My Civic has had bad luck too:

-getting two blown tires on a haunted highway at 330 in the morning in the pouring rain

-being rear ended by an asshole

-me reversing into a street lamp post

-the parking structure incident (smashed door)...i still think the pillar jumped out of nowhere

-the bumper incident at Office Depot

-and two dead batteries

*and my car is only 4 years old*

Yep, Kimber is 4wd. Andfortunately theres no swamps in this part of texas. lots of desert, but no swamps. Good luck with your hook up and potential job. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

I own the happening Honda Civic as well. 1997, Hunter Green. And while you all have had bad luck, mines been a great little car http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif Although his name is scratch because I ran into a burger king and scratched the fender...DON'T ASK! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif

Rain Man 04-11-2001 02:19 PM

I drive a 1988 Honda Accord, which has given me minimal problems despite two accidents, one of which was two months ago b/c a deer ran into the side of my car, smashed my fender and dented my door. My clutch was giving out on me but by God's grace, it is running like it is brand new. I also got a new exhaust and a new battery. I have only had the car 2 1/2 years and I am the 2nd owner--1st owner took GOOD care of the car.

Oh, my dream car. Acura CL coupe. I want a coupe and the CL looks very classy.

Oh, mine is an '87 with 150k so my bad luck isn't really surprising http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
I think they are usually pretty reliable cars. Plus, I have to add - I live in NY, so the winters are long and salt is on the streets in abundance....

I heard that cars don't last long where there are harsh winters b/c of the salt!!! Is that true? My teacher, who's from Chicago, says his car only lasts about 5 years (the outerbody), whereas his car has lasted 25 years out here in San Francisco, CA--where it doesn't snow.

Hey - that's what I drive too. Mine's gray - there are so many of them out there that I had to memorize my license plate so I quit walking up to other people's cars - LOL. I'm also the second owner. My parents bought if for me from a neighbor when I was in college. Now that I just got my first "real" job I'm hoping to buy something new soon. It vibrates a little at stoplights, the idle is too high, the drivers side power window keeps coming off track, and the neutral safety switch went out which NEVER happens on a Honda. Just my luck. Mostly it's reliable though.

bebe_cHiCk17 04-11-2001 07:18 PM

o'kay where should i begin? my sister has a 96 honda accord! my dad didnt want to get it for her, but she wanted an accord in that year b/c it fits her.. well here's what it does to her.. bad luck, bad karma, peice of shit car.. who knows?!!
*drivers side window comes off track (one of yall mentioned that)
*bad wreck in the rain
*popped tire on the side of HWY 71 when it was late at night and just me and her.. cell phones are a great thing!
*cement truck ran into her (his fault)
*got stuck late at night in the thick sand on the beach trying to find the kegger
*got stuck down in a ditch, and some guys tried to help get her out, but ended up pulling the bumper almost all off and the back bumper kinda loose
*18 wheeler almost hit her when it swerved out of his lane b/c of some logs strategically set in the highway, which ran her into the side guard dilly on the highway
*2 tiny rock cracks in the window
*the tint on the drivers side decided it'd come off when it is supposed to be real tint

thats a good starting..! she's only had it for 2 yrs, but overall it's a pretty good car i think.. through what it's been though, i really don't think any other car would survive... believe it or not, she's a great driver too, from everyone's input i'd say it was the honda to blame

ZetaAce 04-11-2001 07:27 PM

Yikes! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif that's a lot of drama for one person/car!
