mad @ the abercombie kidz part....

SWTXBelle 07-10-2007 02:11 PM

The idea actually isn't so bad - you just wouldn't want to hire a stranger!I actually had a former student of mine take my daughter to a concert I did NOT want to see - it worked out great. She had an escort I trusted, and he got to see a concert he really wanted to see for free.

Oh boy, I LOVE Craig's List, and Seattle's site always has daily entertainment.

Here are some that made me laugh today...
-Vertically Challenged Man Seeks Tree to Climb - http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/m4w/371984607.html
- Quick before the money runs out! - http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/m4w/371982562.html
- 2 full moons - http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/m4w/371980822.html
- White Guy likes Big Butts - http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/m4w/371565726.html
- People showing up at the wrong time - http://seattle.craigslist.org/skc/rnr/371827646.html

- To my Ex-GF's Cat (awwwwww!) - http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/sea/333295779.html

I can't decide if this one is funny or weird:
- Wanted -- Stalker - http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/msr/370655090.html

And this one is old, so the photos don't show up anymore, but the writing cracks me up:
Crap-stravaganza (score up to 7 free craps!) - http://www.craigslist.org/about/best/sea/154004569.html

OK, that's it for now :)

Gotta luv CL...4 of my 5 scooters and 1 of my 2 motorcycles I got off of CL. I will admit though, there are some F.R.E.A.K.S on there (San Francisco). I found out when I put up an ad for models. I was very specifiic for what I needed. I needed a woman of middle eastern or Inidan (punjabi) background for a photo homework assignment. It was my studio lighting class. I get not 1 but 3 emails from all men providing nude modeling services... and they sent pictures...:ewww.. Tame compared to other stuff Ive seen. I just stick to looking for cycles and cars..

OneTimeSBX 07-12-2007 02:41 PM

up until this thread i had heard of CL but never felt the need to check it out...what the hell?? i truly do not understand...

PeppyGPhiB 07-13-2007 02:15 AM

You can sell anything on Craig's List, because people will buy anything!

It's like Ebay, only easier and faster. "If you post it, they will come." I sold my old bed set in 4 hours...I posted it in the morning, got an email while I was at work, so I went home at lunch so the person could come over and pick it up!

I'm not from New York. I'm looking to get married to a guy who makes at
least half a million a year. I know how that sounds, but keep in mind
that a million a year is middle class in New York City, so I don't think

She goes on from there, but there's a reply. 1 Filarious reply.

Once again, Craigslist delivered. My boyfriend bought a 1-year-old Drexel Heritage brown leather sofa over the weekend for $300! The guy was moving to Australia, so selling all of his furniture. It was a steal, and is an awesome, beautiful couch that should last for years.

This topic was in an article on yahoo news:

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Deal or no deal? An online exchange between a woman looking for a husband who earns more than $500,000 a year and a mystery Wall Street banker, who assessed her potential for romance as a business deal, has cause quite an Internet stir.

The anonymous 25-year-old woman recently posted an ad on the free online New York community Web site Craigslist, http://newyork.craigslist.org/, appealing for advice on how to find a wealthy husband.
"I know how that sounds, but keep in mind that a million a year is middle class in New York City, so I don't think I'm overreaching at all," the woman, who described herself as "spectacularly beautiful" and "superficial," wrote.
"I dated a business man who makes average around 200 - 250. But that's where I seem to hit a roadblock. $250,000 won't get me to Central Park West," she said, asking questions like "where do rich single men hang out?"
The mystery banker, who said he fit the bill, offered the woman an analysis of her predicament, describing it as "plain and simple a crappy business deal."
"Your looks will fade and my money will likely continue into perpetuity ... in fact, it is very likely that my income increases but it is an absolute certainty that you won't be getting any more beautiful!" the banker wrote.
"So, in economic terms you are a depreciating asset and I am an earning asset," he said. "Let me explain, you're 25 now and will likely stay pretty hot for the next 5 years, but less so each year. Then the fade begins in earnest. By 35 stick a fork in you!"
"It doesn't make good business sense to "buy you" (which is what you're asking) so I'd rather lease," he said.
While the woman has since removed the ad from Craigslist, it -- along with the response -- has become a popular email joke that, bank JPMorgan Chase says, led to one of its bankers mistakenly being credited with writing the response.
Brian Marchiony, spokesman for JPMorgan Chase, said the banker did not write the response and that his email signature accidentally became attached to the ad and response when he forwarded it to friends and it then wound up on blogs.
Craigslist was not immediately available for comment, but a spokeswoman told The New York Times that "it does look as if the post was made sincerely."

This is why it's important to meet in a busy, public place when you don't know the person. Did she go to the home to "interview"?

Woah - a "NOT WORK APPROPRIATE!!!" warning would be nice with that one!!!
