OWL ITEMS
This thread is completely ripped off from:
http://www.greekchat.com/gcforums/sh...ad.php?t=87693 but we probably should have our own ongoing thread about great owl items for Kappa houses, gifts, etc. A cute wall owl string dispenser and scissor holder good for houses: http://www.fatfinch.com/pages/mob01.html Also good for the house is an owl letter holder: http://www.curiosityshoppeonline.com/owlleho.html A very college appropriate night owl mug in blue & brown: http://www.southmoonunder.com/bvc/ja...ug-125336.html Very retro owl toddler tableware set for a baby shower: http://www.oliverbonas.com/OliverBon...ookie%5Ftest=1 click on the owl one to see Urban Outfitters has lots of owl items, but this watch necklace is pretty "generationally-friendly" http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/shopp...=PRODUCT&iProd uctID=29956&cm_mmc=Froogle-_-Women's%2C-_-Accessories%2C-_-Owl+Watch+Necklace Lastly, any owl-related print by Picasso - simple and sublime |

Sorry to crash... Target has a couple of cute owl stuff (shirts) in the junior section! Also at nature stores where they sell bird feed and stuff, there are cute authentic owl-looking things.
|
I saw her on Martha Stewart this morning with a cute owl ultrasuade pillow:

There's a key one right underneath the owl, along with other charms.

Sorry to crash your page, but had to share some owl goodies:
Owls from Brighton http://www.brightonretail.com/store/...etail&p=E12450 http://www.brightonretail.com/store/...etail&p=G40260 They also have fleur de lis items. |
Urban Outfitters has tons of owl stuff right now, just in time for initiation gifts. There were cute blue & blue owl key covers for $4, owl journals, owl ornaments for $8 that are gorgeous and I wouldn't mind hanging up all year round.

The owl material is cute, too!
|
The Kaufman fabric is interesting. I haven't come across it in the quilt shops yet. Over the years, I routinely find owl, iris, and fdl fabric but key fabric is not that common. I think the pillows could be cute using a subdued blue wavy (to simulate feathers) tone-on-tone fabric.
It comes in a blue colorway as well! http://www.robertkaufman.com/fabrics.../aas-7568-208/ |
You are so creative/artistic! That would be cute.

So pretty!

I googled blue feather fabric and http://skolias.accountsupport.com/fabric/FN153363.jpg popped up with that neat print.
I have never ordered from this company so I have no idea on their reliability or more importantly the quality of their cotton. Google also came up with http://www.materialgirlquiltsonline....productid=6255 Hoffman makes very nice quilting fabric. I never ordered from this site. and the paisley owl fabric shown in http://www.hancocks-paducah.com/item...23_36_962.html This is a Moda fabric, a high-quality quilting cotton. Hancock's of Paducah is very reliable. I have never had a problem with ordering from them |
Those 2 new ones are both pretty, but I absolutely adore the paisley owl!
|
Me too! It comes in 3 colorways purple, aqua, and pink. There is also a nice line of coordinates to go with it. http://www.unitednotions.com/fcc_full-moon-forest.pdf

I found some cute owl brooches on E-bay. Just do a search for "owl pin" and they'll come up.
|
Wit's End in West Springfield, VA http://www.witsendstyle.com/ have 2 cute owl ornaments that are half-price. They are not pictured online but if you tell the sales staff that the owls are Christmas ornaments near the back of the store, they can help you. They retail about $12-13 full-price. They both are about 4-6" high. I think I saw about 4 of each one tonight.
The first one is a painted glass great horned owl with 2 prettily patterned tiny real feathers over the eyes. The second is made of natural materials to include straw, pussy willow tips, feathers.... I'll post a picture when my computer guru gets back from his Scout camping trip tomorrow (yes, it is January!). |
::::::::::sneaking over to the Kappa thread to peek at their owls:::::::::::

NutBrnHair, you are adorable!!!
Please pass along any owl goodies the Chi-O's have found-you are our "Panhellic Owl Liason"! :-) |
New Vera Bradley Pattern!!
Hello fellow owl-lovers!
I don't know if any of you are Vera Bradley fans or not, but I wanted to let you know that this fall, they will be releasing a pattern called "Night Owl". It is blue with flowers, and a moon that has an owl on it. It's very very cute. (I'm dying to have a bag in that pattern before I go to Chi-O Convention this summer, but I guess I'll have to wait until Fall...sigh...) |

This 9-pack of 5" batik squares is great for a Kappa Quilter. Scroll down to the last pic in the bird category. http://www.batikquilts.com/shop/mini_themes/page2.htm

I'm working at Forever 21 for the summer, so I did a search for "owl" on their website. I found a lot of stuff! (also found some fleur de lis and key stuff!)
|
i bought a super cute owl necklace from charmingchick.com.
|
I can't find pictures online:
Joann's Fabrics has cute embroidered owl applique patches for embellishments. Home Goods (same company owns TJ Maxx and Marshall's) had "interesting" owl plates in their holiday seasonal displays. Although they were in the Halloween section, the owl plates were not too Halloweeny and could probably be used all fall. Now the coordinating bat plates are a different story. |
