Transformers: The Movie

Easily the best movie of the summer.

Good action, easy to follow story, some of the best CGI in a good bit..well worth the wait....

Hugo Weaving voicing Megatron was cool....

Anthony Anderson kinda got wasted for the role he had in this movie (it was a somewhat useless role) other than that I can't think of any other reason why one wouldn't enjoy this movie.

nikki1920 07-05-2007 11:05 AM

I completely agree.
The visuals were amazing.
Shia Lebouf was a great choice for the character.
Bumblebee's transformation, no pun intended.

Seeing Optimus Prime on screen was just amazing.

Nice way to leave it open for the upcoming sequel.

Kevlar281 07-05-2007 05:52 PM

Saw it yesterday with the family. (We had rain for the 4th) Good movie, I plan to catch it one more time on the big screen.

ASUADPi 07-07-2007 09:06 AM

I really enjoyed the movie. Huge transformers fan (I have two brothers). It's funny how you get excited to see Optimus Prime show up. LOL.

The visual effects were beyond AMAZING!!!!!!

I predict a couple of academy award nominations (and possibly a win or two) for visual effects.

Rio_Kohitsuji 07-07-2007 11:33 AM

LOVED IT LOVED IT LOVED IT!!!

Bumblebee is sexy ;)

nikki1920 07-07-2007 01:07 PM

I will admit I got a little choked up when I saw Optimus Prime on the screen.

I couldn't even be mad at the obvious product placement, lol.

I bout fell over when I saw "To punish and enslave" on the police car, lol.

I REALLY want to see that movie again..

ZTABullwinkle 07-07-2007 02:05 PM

This is one of those movies that:
1. need to be seen in the theater.
2. will need to watch a couple of times to catch the little details.

We loved the movie. I even called my mom and told her that my parents NEED to see it. I was not a Transformers fan growing up, but I loved watching the movie. WOW! :D

JonInKC 07-07-2007 02:09 PM

I don't remember some of those decepticons. Like the police car? Was that from one of the later generations?

Gina1201 07-07-2007 11:15 PM

I saw it tonight. Saw the first half of the movie twice thanks to some bad ass kid that decided to pull the fire alarm in the middle of the movie. I loved Bumblebee!!!

While I just saw and enjoyed the movie, the whole idea of the bad cop/car seemed to be uh..."lifted" from Terminator 2, if you know what I mean.

In other news, I thought the "to punish and enslave" was hilarious. I should tell my personal trainer that that should be his motto...LOL.

ms_gwyn 07-09-2007 02:47 AM

I will admit to being a fangirl of Transformers

BEST MOVIE EVER FOR A FANGIRL/BOY

I was fortunate enough to be in a row with other fangirls/boys like me.

I loved the "To punish and enslave"

for the fans of the cartoon/comic: did you notice in beginning with the VW Bug bit? Damn Volkwagon!

I will see this again...

PrettyBoy 07-09-2007 04:08 AM

Best movie I've seen since "Top Gun".

DaemonSeid 07-09-2007 07:40 AM

Here is a question...

Altho this is based on a line of toys...marvel also had a comic running....so....technically...does this also count as a comic movie? (think of other comics have toys that coincide with them also)

IMO....I would say that this counts and is the best comic movie done since Batman Begins

AKA_Monet 07-10-2007 02:22 AM

Just saw the movie. My husband was waaaay amused, like a little boy getting a new transformer toy.

I say Megatron did not die when thrown in the water.

And isn't this a new genre for director Micheal Bay? He normally does Jerry Bruckheimer films and "Bad Boys".

SNUIGC 07-10-2007 02:46 AM

That was an AWESOME movie... definitely one of the best I've seen in a long time. ....can't wait for the sequel...hopefully it won't suck as bad as most sequels. (you know he didn't die in the trench...they're making too much money off of it for him to die ;) )

Here you go!!! There will actually be a Transformers 2 because this first one did make a ton of $$$.

Animate 07-11-2007 02:54 AM

I really think me and my friend are the only people on the planet not drooling over this movie. She actually fell asleep during it. I think its a pretty good movie but not as great as others are making it. I felt like it was extremely long and drawn out.

And I'm still pissed the black "guy" dies! :)

moe.ron 07-11-2007 09:30 AM

Dinobots better be in the next one!!!

I just saw the movie and it was so good. I love the visual effects. ...and I heart Optimus Prime. I wish I had him and Bumblebee as my friends. :p

SoEnchanting 07-16-2007 01:18 AM

Finally got a chance to see it! AMAZING! I felt like a kid again.

One time for the 80's babies!

abaici 07-16-2007 02:20 AM

I fell dozed during the last fight scene because I was very, very tired. But, I thought the movie was great! It was really cool and funny. Growing up, I loved Transformers, GI Joe (I wanted to marry Flint-lol), and Thundercats.

The best thing for me was seeing how excited all the guys were. When Optimist Prime came on the scene, the guy next to me said, "YES!". It was just so cute.

Taualumna 07-16-2007 10:18 AM

Mr. Tau dragged me to Transformers this weekend (I'm thinking of doing the same for Evening, but that might be a little too cruel), but he was really disappointed. He thought that it was too heavy on the human characters and that the special effects were just too, too much. He also thought that the plot appealed to a 15 year old more than it would for the 20-somethings and 30-somethings who grew up playing with Transformers.

Personally, as far as Japanese Anime goes, I like Voltron. I really like Robotech, Army of the Southern Cross, but that's the bootleg version. And if we are talking JA, then Zetagundam, old skool or Battleship Yamamoto... Period.

It sounds like, they are trying to bring back all of these. So they may as well bring back the "Thundercats"... ;)

So much for the 80's childhood.

They are, per Wikipedia and IMDB.

On June 5, 2007 it was announced that Warner Bros. have optioned the rights to make a CGI animated feature film based on the ThunderCats cartoon. It will be an origin story expanding on the events of the first episode.[1] The script has been written by Paul Sopocy and will be produced by Paula Weinstein (of Blood Diamond fame)[2] and an entry now appears at IMDB[3] .

u know...somewhere in my old tapes I have the Southern Cross VHS...in Japanese I think too.....I had a Power Rangers Japanese version back in the day and it was so much cooler than the US version...but then..what isn't?

FYI...they are doing a live action Speed racer too.....I think I will cringe when I see the Mach 5 cuz u know they are gonna mess it up

Educatingblue 08-02-2007 11:19 AM

BEST MOVIE!!!

I know I am late, but me and Mr. Educatingblue finally went to see the movie Tuesday night and we were both geeked out over it. I LOVED Bumblebee! We are definitely looking forward to a part II. :D

When he started playing Let's Get It On and Baby Come Back, I about died laughing.

I also liked it when one of the Autobots (can't recall which one) said that the boys pheromone levels were high and indicated that he wanted to mate with the female. Classic!
