Nupes how good are/were you with a Kane?
 

O.K. Nupes what do you rank yourself from 1-10 when it comes to freestyling with a kane?

I give myself a 7. I'm pretty good.:D

I forgot to add: What song did/do you like to freestyle to?
I like old school, like "Cars drive by" by LL Cool J, and "Ain't no future" by MC Breed. If those songs are on then my score moves up a notch to an 8.:D

I dunno Bruh. On average I would say an 8. But If I have a few cups of Hen, i'm gonna go ahead and go with a 9 1/2. I was twirling one time, and I ended up twirling 4 kanes at once!!!!

I would say a 7; I have been practicing more hook-based techniques, something that I really needed to refine and work on. Also I have been practicing more reverse finger twirling on both hands, which helped me in some respects also.

I always am working on it...unfortunately I have short fingers and it creates a problem! But I am cool at hook moves!

I would say that I'm a 1 out of 10 but I have the best "shimmy" in the world!!!

Can't twirl, can't make it look like I can twirl, and I am to old to stroll for a long time but I can go around at least twice, but you put on "Flirt", "This is why I'm Hot",or "Buy you a Drink" and I can shimmy with best.

One More Chance...gets me hype e'ery time.

I kill "Buy U A Drink"...my shimmy is sick with it. I am also known to cut up to Luther's "Bad boy" :cool::D

I'm a beginner. I won't even begin to quantify my skills. I have a long way to go to get to where I need to be.

I'm a -3 on twirling. If I pick up a kane, please move out of the way if you value your teeth and/or eyes.

For the brothers that couldn't step, freestyle, or stroll very well, I remember when I was in undergrad we used to say "catch the beat or the beat will catch you".

Nothing worse than an unbalanced Kane though. To me that makes all the difference in the world.:)

I personally think I'm 5 on the 10 point scale.. But I get better each day, so it's all good. Then again, I compare myself to my Dean.

And that's only last year. It's hard for us to practice for step shows sometimes when my LBs and my Dean get together and we all start twirlin.

On a side note - Do ya'll think that twirlin with a measurably shorter kane (as opposed to one that has been properly measured for your size- Armpit to wrist) constitutes "cheating" (Due to shorter size, faster rotation, lighter weight, easier to find balance point..)?

Because we all know that "all kanes are not kreated equal." Personally, I'm going back to my roots and trying to get it busy with my first cane. ;) 3 layers of black tape. 3 layers of white tape. No design, just a "2" I scratched on the bottom so that my LBs didn't end up using mine by accident...
