Mascot/Symbol Gifts

Okay, I checked the "owls" gift thread, and thought we should start one for ALL of us - not just Kappas and Chi Os! Anyone know of neat crescents? (Waxing of course, not waning!)

AGDLynn 06-13-2007 06:19 PM

Crescent moon

And everyone else www.replacements.com

SWTXBelle 06-13-2007 06:27 PM

Thanks, AGDLynn! I've always got my eye out for squirrels - lots of cute stuffed ones, but I imagine you only need so many of those . . . :)

Senusret I 06-13-2007 06:42 PM

One of my fraternity's unofficial symbols is the Ape and I've been able to find nice toy gorillas from toy stores.

bejazd 06-13-2007 08:47 PM

Check this out SWTexasBelle: moonstruckchocolate.com

kinda pricey for a bid day gifty but gotta love those crescent moon boxes!

Nordstrom and Red Envelope also carry some beautiful crescent moon pendants.

KSUViolet06 06-13-2007 10:22 PM

This is pretty neat for Tri Sigmas or even DGs (or any other sorority with "nautical" themes).

I thought these were cute for your favorite AOII

SWTXBelle 06-14-2007 07:50 PM

Those wheat designs are GORGEOUS.
Alphafrog, I know that is a phoenix - but what exactly is it? A figurine? I think it's really pretty - but it kinda scares me, too!

It's a plush phoenix hand puppet! :)

SWTXBelle 06-14-2007 08:14 PM

Does it come with its own "fire"??? Could make for an interesting skit for Skit Night during recruitment!

cuteASAbug 06-14-2007 08:20 PM

No. :( But that would be hot if it did. (Pun not intended.)

I'm seeing a beautiful and redefined pref night ceremony! Who wouldn't want to be part of a sisterhood that incorporated puppetry into their ritual!

Gotta love the FLAMING CHICKEN!

That's it, I'm starting my own local...Sigma Phi Chi...Sisterhood of the Flaming Chicken.

Cutie_Hootie 06-15-2007 01:33 AM

Probably not everyone's style, but could be cute:

I found a lot of both owl and Fleur-de-Lis stuff on Signals.com, just do a search! Happy Hunting!! :)

SWTXBelle 06-15-2007 09:18 AM

Okay, there should be a warning - I was not prepared for the hilarity of the flaming chicken, and almost had coffee come out my nose.

Leave the flaming chicken alone. I love the flaming chicken.:(

I rather enjoy having a Phoenix for a symbol...it so much different than stars and crowns and pearls, and cutesy bugs, etc...

SWTXBelle 06-15-2007 09:37 AM

Now, now - I too believe the phoenix is a beautiful and distinct symbol, with a long and distinguished history.
But that hand puppet is over the top! So just remember, the flaming chicken is the HAND PUPPET, not the symbol of your sisterhood.
Although I do kinda like the pref night skit idea . . .

I love that flaming chicken, but as the name implies, I have no problems with ladybugs either.

NutBrnHair 06-15-2007 05:53 PM

No ladies, THIS is a Flaming Chicken!

SWTXBelle 06-15-2007 05:55 PM

At least I had warning this time!

Yes, truly, THAT is a flaming chicken.

Xidelt 06-15-2007 06:46 PM

Wow, that's a great flaming chicken! I'm putting that on the Sigma Phi Chi website!

BabyPiNK_FL 06-16-2007 03:07 AM

Lol! no, no! That is a chicken blowing flames! :D

SWTXBelle 06-17-2007 11:52 AM

And suddenly, crescent moons seem so staid . . .

cuteASAbug 06-17-2007 04:25 PM

Another mascot item for my ASA sisters- Le SportSac has a spring/summer pattern with ladybugs all over it. I saw one of the weekend bags in Bloomingdale's this weekend.

SWTXBelle 06-17-2007 05:37 PM

Our chapter mascot was the ladybug, and we would have LOVED this.

Thetagirl218 06-18-2007 01:35 PM

Does anyone have any links to any cute kite stuff? Though I have to admit a Kite is not as cool as a flaming Chicken! :)

sherbertlemons 06-18-2007 02:18 PM

Okay, I'm attempting to justify my Anthropologie habit with this thread.

These are technically tortises, but the apron is really cute:

For us Kappas and Chi O's
http://www.anthropologie.com/jump.js...4&iMainCat=374

I'll keep diligently searching the Anthropologie website, and let ya'll know if I find anything else.

Uh, whoops. :p

This is why I hide my debit card. Seriously, when I go shopping there, I can spend a bundle in a hurry.

Hey, at least they're cute dishtowels, right? :D
