did i miss the "Army Wives" thread?
or am i the only one that watched?
|
I watched it. Am not sure what I think. I liked it, but it was kind of blah and formulaic at the same time. However--YAY for some summer programming.

I caught part of an episode...not sure if it was the first one or not. I was intrigued and will have to remember to watch it.
|
After watching the 2nd episode, I think I like it. Now to watch ep. 3.
|
I liked ep 2 very much.
|
I have enjoyed all 3 episodes so far. I hope this show continues to do well.
|
I have been enjoying it more and more every week. Loved Roxie's line in the 3rd episode when she turned to the two buttinskies and told them "You keep opening your mouth and inserting the entire shoe store."

yay i have some folks to discuss with.
you know what's really scary, that dude that couldn't adjust back from Afghanistan, worrying about the "little girl?" shoot, i could not be strong enough to handle that - go head Burton! |
I found a small group of us at work love this show. We were talking about surrogates today and got to talking abut this show
|
FYI
Tomorrow at 7PM EST there will be an Army Wives marathon with a new episode airing at 10PM EST.
|
Yea...I saw that hot messedness!!! ( i know it's not a word)

The dude who beats up his mom needs some serious help. :( I don't know why the shrink can't help his wife. I can see from a mile away that she has PTSD. I have enjoyed the episodes so far. |
Army wives show, really, lol? is their an episode where the wife is a total bitch running around the commisary with five kids? Or how about the episode with the lady completely whoring it up at the NCO club while her husband is in Iraq?
|
I'm really starting to like this show. I just wish it wasn't on so late on a Sunday. And Roxie is awesome. :)
|
The shrink whose wife is an officer:
I'm starting to think the husband of the army wife that has the two girls is crazy. I personally wanted to knock some sense into the wife whose husband is missing. The hostage scene was at Trident Techinal College. I think the houses where the lower ranked officers live are off of Rutledge (but not sure). And Roxie rocks!! :D |
i love this show! it makes me so upset to have to wait one whole week for a new episode! ;)
|
The series was sent to me to write a review for my job and I got a chance to watch it all this weekend, and I LOVED it. It's so good!! And the fact that I'm a navy brat, makes it relatable on some level. Anyway, I'm impressed with Lifetime for this one and hope more people check it out.
|
Thanks GC'ers, I was reminded the show is tonight and is on in hour here. I went online, taking a break from packing and listening to old Beach Boys tunes and country music, to offset my new rockaholic neighbors. I really enjoy the show, too, and surprised that I am.

Has anyone here read the book it's based on? I've been thinking about picking it up at the library.
|
As a military spouse, I think the show is ok. It is cliched (but hey, so is Greek and just about any show based on a subset of the population). I have watched a few of the episodes and find that it is a little realistic in that things like that do happen--although they don't happen to me because I tend not to get involved in any of the drama on base. :)

I am mad that the parents won't leave Jeremy and Amanda alone. Now he's run off to the service (in which he didn't want to do) and Amanda's crying and sneaking to see him behind her folks' back. And I think both of their dads are jerks. Pam did the right think and left the guy alone. And Roxy still rocks!!!! :D :D |
Good episode this week. I <3 this show. :D
|
Looks like next week's episode is going to be better.
Claudia Ann's husband is still a jerk. I also want Claudia to tell off the post commander's wife off. The whole storyline with the friend testifying to Congress: all I could think about was Pat Tillman. |
^It's Claudia Joy (but I obviously know who you meant). And yes, she needs to tell off mean lady very soon. I'm so over her!
|
Thanks! I always get her name mixed up! :o
|
Ahaha, I love how last night's episode ended. Lenore Baker finally got what was coming to her. :D

Very rewarding to see and I love how the general's wife set her up!!!:D |
There was a severe lack of Roxy and Trevor last night.

Was it me or the tides have changed between Joan and Roland very quickly? |

Army Wives Week starts Monday. Season 2 starts Sunday, June 8. :) |
^^^I can't wait!!! :D
|
I have to catch up on the last couple episodes! I can't remember, how it left off? Can anybody fill me?
|
Next Saturday there is a marathon on Lifetime - I think it starts at 11 am (pacific time at least). I plan on watching the last few to refresh my memory.
I'm excited!! |
Story about Army Wives...
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080602/...XeRbOxx2FxFb8C 13 new episodes this summer and six more by the end of the year. :) The story says that someone dies in the premiere. I hope it's not Claudia Joy's daughter Amanda. |
So what did ya'll think of the premiere? Spoiler alert for anyone who didn't see it yet: Jitterbug13 nailed it on the thread, apparently. As of right now, the story line I'm really interested in is Joan and Roland and what she's going to decide to do about the baby.
