Kid shows you hate to admit you watch..

I separated myself from kid shows not from my generation (Old School Nickelodeon, Original Power Rangers, Ninja Turtles, etc.)

But i have a younger sister who watches a couple of kid shows..and I will say they're real good, here are a couple of mine:

-Suite Life of Zack and Cody (It was very odd for me to see the guy who played T.C. on the Wayans Bros in a polar opposite role)
-That's So Raven (stop laughing it's real funny)
-Spongebob
-Drake and Josh

I'll come up with more later on.

Ditto. Throw in Hannah Montana, Life with Derek (I hated it when it first came out, but it's decent now), Lizzie McGuire, and Zoey 101.

I LOVE Jakers: The Adventures of Piggley Winks and I don't even have kids around! It's just me. http://pbskids.org/jakers/

My son watches Blues Clues, and I hate to admit that I will continue watching long after he's crawled away. Then I got hooked on the Backyardigans once too. All the singing, I just couldn't stop watching. So embarrassing!

I love Life wirh Derek. I watch it because the guy that plays Derek, the girl that plays Emily, and the guy that plays the stepdad were all on a show called Strange Days at Blake Holsey High. That show rocked

We're stuck on Backyardigans right now with my daughter. Of course we see every Disney movie too. Her favorite has been Shrek 2 and she knows there's a new movie out...she's only 2 1/2!

My son was totally hooked on Blues Clues for a long time and I enjoyed watching it with him at first. After a few years, I couldn't take it anymore. He was hooked on that show longer than any of the others. I do still sing the Blues Clues Birthday Song occasionally. I don't know the dance that goes with it anymore.

I'm totally sick of Steve already, but I just have a soft spot in my heart for Joe. He's such a better singer too. I'm sure I'll get sick of the entire show soon enough, I think we have years of it ahead of us!

I cannot believe that my trashy step-sister-in-law actually told her age 3 through 9 kids that Steve DIDN'T really go to college, he died of a drug overdose. She couldn't even just leave it at "he died", since she felt the need to tell them the truth, she had to add the part about the drug overdose.:mad::rolleyes:

/hijack

I used to watch Lizzie McGuire in college. I felt bad, because I had a little crush on the guy who played Gordo - until I found out that he's a year younger than me. Then I didn't feel so bad.

My son was done with it by the time Joe came along, so we only had Steve. My son even insisted on wearing Steve shirts. It bordered on an illness, I swear!

RitaMae1908 06-02-2007 06:45 PM

That's So Raven (Disney Channel)... cute show but it's time for Raven to move on, and I don't think Walt and them will be bringing back awkward, sidekick Eddie after that "charge" he picked up in H-Town a few month back!!!

You know that it's urban legend that Steve Burns ("Steve") died of a drug overdose, right? He's alive and well. He's actually a rock singer and does voice over work. I think personally he got sick of doing the show and wanted more out of his career. Another rumor I've heard is that he was going bald and didn't want kids to see it. He appeared on Rosie (back when she had her own show) to prove he was still alive.

I'm sorry your step-sister told her kids that Steve died. That's mean. And if you really want to one-up her--you should tell the woman he's still alive! I think you can look him up on wikipedia if you want to prove it to her.

I'm too young to have kids, but I babysit a one year old every week, and her favorite show is the Backyardigans. I get those songs stuck in my head days later. And the dancing they do is pretty intricate; they were doing the cha-cha-cha on one episode! Ok, now I'm officially embarrassed :o

Jill1228 06-03-2007 01:10 AM

Yup I have been known to watch the Backyardigans. the songs are so catchy

christiangirl 06-03-2007 02:57 AM

^^^Them and Wonder Pets. I don't particular like either, but I watch with my nephew and we sing those songs ALL DAY LONG. :D Ooh, and the Veggie Tales songs, too. I don't like watching it, but I HEART the songs. I even have a soundtrack that I still listen to--"I Love My Lips" and "The Song of the Cebu" are GOLD. :D

I didn't ever bother to look it up. I figured if someone was going to tell her kids something like that, she'd verified it was true. Although, knowing her, it doesn't suprise me.

G.I. Joe, Transformers, Voltron.

I watch Nick at Nite a lot before bed so sometimes when I have a late class and wake up and turn on the TV, Wonder Pets is on. I got the Oh, Sheep-eee-ooo! song stuck in my head to the point I downloaded it on iTunes. :(

What's gonna work.....TEAMWORK!

BuckeyeTriDelta 06-04-2007 01:18 AM

I will admit to watching Spongebob. I'll even admit to owning Seasons 1-3 on DVD.

Voltron, when I can catch it

Ned's Declassified...watched the one with everclear, thought that it was a good show

OneTimeSBX 06-04-2007 12:49 PM

Anything Disney is fair game and Zoey 101. So sad I know.

ljkelly 06-04-2007 02:12 PM

I LOVE the Backyardigans!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE!!:D I also watch Spongebob and the Suite Life of Zac and Cody.

ForeverRoses 06-04-2007 03:32 PM

Am I the only one that has a soft spot for Mr. Roger's Neighborhood? I even considered the name Aberlin if I ever had a daughter.
I also really like Johnny and the Sprites on Disney. And the Berenstain Bears on PBS.

Omigosh, I saw the Backyardigans for the first time the other day while babysitting. They are too cute! :p

PeppyGPhiB 06-04-2007 05:26 PM

Mister Rogers' Neighborhood is still such a great show. I'm glad they show it in reruns...I like the way it stays on the positive stuff. I always loved it when he showed the film of the Crayola crayon factory!

I remember when they gave Fred Rogers a lifetime achievement Emmy a few years back, his speech was so wonderful that it made many in the audience cry. It's here for anyone interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kaJQLgiXKO0

Anyway, I've watched Zoey 101 a couple of times because it was/is filmed on my college campus, and specifically in my dorm.

tld221 06-04-2007 08:55 PM

im gonna one-up everyone here and cast my vote for Veggie Tales.

and im not even christian. i'm not even religious. but it kinda rocks my socks when im up at an ungodly hour on a saturday morning.

where do you go to school? haha im watching it now on The N. apparently the kids are on spring break and the guy is supposed to tell zoey he loves her?

yeah this is the 2nd episode i've watched - the first one the kids were pledging the Silver Hammers - that was hilarious!

My favourite songs are Barbara Manatee and 'O Where Is My Hairbrush.' I sing the latter a lot, because I am constantly losing my hairbrush.

I...know that song too. Completely by heart. I used to know the whole dance but now I can't do it. My excuse is that my mum used to childmind two kids and bought a blues clues tape.

I always said I was going to marry Steve. So much so that I got a gag gift of a handy dandy notebook and crayon for my birthday one year. Oh Steve *swoon*

I do not watch kids shows. Occasionally I watch a disney channel movie but the quality of shows has gone down a lot. Or I grew up. I think it's the former because I still sleep with like 6 stuffed animals.

JonInKC 06-04-2007 11:27 PM

Remember in the early 80's when they had all those cartoons about video games? Pac-Man, Q*Bert, Frogger, Donkey Kong...I'm sure there were more.

SWTXBelle 06-05-2007 08:08 AM

I love "Jakers!" - but my 4 and 5 year old boys aren't as thrilled. BUT they LOVE the "Gummi Bears" dvd I bought them yesterday - and here's the funny part - it's more for my 17 year old daughter, because she was talking the other day about how much she adored that show. She even rode the lame Gummi Bears boat ride at Disneyland when she was two and said she liked it.
She refused to watch new "Blue's Clues" because of that "imposter". But we both sing the mail song when we get the mail. I'm gonna miss her when she goes off to college . . .
I love the Wonder Pets - and is it wrong that the "What's gonna work - TEAMWORK" song makes me think there should be a Wonderpets themed rush skit??? Ling-Ling's lisp is what makes it for me.

i CRIED when mr rogers died! he just made you feel so good about everything. i think every generation should have to watch him, everything else on tv is so violent and loud, he was always so sweet and soft, my mom used to make us watch it to calm us down after school, and it always worked.

JonInKC 06-05-2007 11:33 AM

I guess I'll have to be "that guy" in this thread since no one else will say it.

Am I the only one who found Mr. Rogers creepy?

*gasp!

he wasnt creepy! mutant turtles are creepy...teletubbies are creepy. hell, reading rainbow had a few episodes that made me wonder lmao, but mr rogers wasnt creepy! he just wasnt in your face with loud screaming and bright colors...

KatieKate1244 06-05-2007 01:17 PM

I also still love Mr. Rogers! I still watch Reading Rainbow and some of the other mid-afternoon lineup. There's also a show on Discovery that features a chick that I watch. I have no idea what it's called, but one of the characters is a chick, which looks like a yellow circle with stick legs. It's cute. Vegi-Tales looks cute, but I was never allowed to bring those in the house.
