I miss the old trolls
 

Most of the new trolls suck ass on GC. I remember when I was a newbie, we had "professional" trolls. Their craziness was original and could not have been imitated. Just raw nuttiness and not dumb children playing on the internet.

Who was your favorite troll?

My vote goes for VictoriaSecret and ufpike. He was racist, sexist, homophobic...but some of the crazy stuff he wrote had me CTFU. VS was an influence when I created a certain alter ego a few years ago.

I remember (I had another name (not a sockpuppet) back in 03) reading some of the stuff UFpike wrote and if I didn't let myself get pissed....I thought it was funny.

This is going back a few years (2001, I think) but there was a "nole" (presumably someone who loved their FSU Seminoles): there was "drinknNole" and a few other re-inventions of 'nole. Maybe it was the long long twin brother of ca$hmoney.

The Grapist gets my vote as well. However, I always considered The Grapist to be more of a gimmicky poster then a troll.

Wasn't PHAShriner also an Omega perp? I remember some scandal about that.... all I remember was feeling vindicated afterward, LOL

CelestialBlues..... can somebody give me the rundown on that chick? I feel like I know this story and I think she is the same as somebody I knew from other boards....

I can't remember if this was the same chick from MegaGreek who was impersonating a Delta and made up a cockamamie story about her Kappa twin brother who was gay (when she was chatting with me) but was engaged to one of her other personalities, who was another Delta. She apparently had cancer, then she didn't.... she was a Delta from Emory, then she was a Delta from Bradley, then she wasn't a Delta at all (apparently).

And the SCARY thing is that she's a REAL life person who I have had real life brushes with, but never actually met.

Damn, that sounds INSANE when I type it out.

I knew Celestial Blues, etal. from another message board for Deltas and prospects. It's quite possible that she is the one you mentioned. On the other board she never perped as a Delta just a prospect. But I can see her perping on a non-Delta board.

To this day I think she is now Dionysus.

Not to pull the "really old guy" stuff here, but some of the trolls way back were pretty awful. The V's and some of the other anti-Greek were posting some pretty bad stuff and harassing members. I'd take the annoying posters over them any day.

Oh, for sure. Some of the first trolls took it off the message board and stalked members and tried to destroy their private lives.:mad:

I agree, alter egos can be amusing too, but they are quite different from flat out trolls.

There were many people who DID believe I was VS for a while, some thought I was the V's too.

I agree, when trolls or even regular members go that far, it is no longer entertaining.

I guess on days when I'm really bored, I need to do a search on curse words and the word "drama" and see which recent threads show up.

I don't so much miss trolls, but there were some characters who did fall under troll, and some were just memorable. Congayo. The woman who was allegedly on law school exchange and chased tornadoes. BabyP. The Grapist. And so on.

Holy crap how could I forget Craig?! UCFPike, Sverige, cashmoney, and the girl who pretended to be from West Virginia who was swinging from his steroid affected areas.

I think victoriasecret 1-99 was the first official troll.

Dude, her story NEVER added up to me. I'm from the South and I KNEW there was no way that she would have been accepted with open arms the way that everyone thought she was. I even got called out for my skepticism by someone!

She admitted that she wasn't married to her babydaddy, but he really was a Pike.

She had a lot of other stuff going on that makes me kind of sad to think about, though.
