I thought it might be interesting to hear the careers of fellow GCers! I'll start...

Starting August 2007, I'll be a high school counselor!

I work in Education for a Not-for-Profit.

Starting in fall 07 I'll be going to med school for veterinary medicine and if I survive it:rolleyes:, I'll be a DVM.:)

My brother is a vet and on the admissions board for a very big SEC school. CVs are very big as are actual interviews! Keep it relaxed, yet personable in your speech. And good luck. :D

I'm a graduate school student with aspirations to becoming a marriage and family therapist.

I'm not currently working though I have an internship starting this fall.

I work as an Investigative Assistant for a Federal law enforcement agency.

I am a Librarian at a large public library system. I do youth programming, work 4 reference desks, translate and interpret for customers, and maintain the Natural Sciences collection as well as some of the foreign language and young adult materials.

I'm an office manager/bookkeeper for a psychopath (I kid you not, she gets loonier and loonier by the day - and this confirm by the project manager who's worked there for 23 years) and I hope to not be working there much longer...although I'm looking to stay in the accounting field.

Production Assistant for a small publishing company. (Read: I do whatever my boss and manager tell me to do).

I'm an architect who specializes in the exterior restoration of landmark buildings in the NYC metro area. Basically, I hang out with construction workers all day. :)

Prior to starting law school, I did media relations and editorial work for a bar association.

Now I am a law student in an evening program (graduation 2010), and work for an insurance company during the day.

Polymer Chemist for a very large defense contractor.

After a stint in TV News (hated the 3 AM - 1 PM shift) and working in development at a children's museum, I've found something I love doing :) I work with the state's Youth & Government programs (Hi-Y, Tri-Hi-Y, Y&G Clubs) putting on leadership programs, mock trials, and Model General Assembly.

saw enough of them and too many silly editors. So, back to school I've gone. Started few years back, stopped, then realized beach brat not a career, sigh.:mad:

I drink, do research and play golf in the Summer. I attend the occasional law class in the Fall/Spring.

At your service! A two-fer in fact.
My mom taught school, my dad did something with money that apparently I still can't understand despite being allowed on the internet on my own. My uncle ran a small weekly paper that I refused to work for because I was stupid(?).


Apparently I worked for some other paper, a daily perhaps and I did all the shit work by having to go to meetings and listen to boring people talk and also writing fluff pieces.
Then I started writing the crime stories because their previous guy stopped doing his job.
This paper was most likely something like The Onion because I can't imagine someone reading stories written by someone who types like this.

Writing about crime has converted me to satanism...

Being around a fire makes my clothes smell smokey.
Being around blood meant I could have blood on my shoe... or ketchup from my Quarter Pounder. You never know!

Everyone I work with is crazy (explains a lot huh?) and they leave in the middle of important news, but it's ok because they laugh at it.

I've never understood the fascination behind watching pursuits and wanting to see crashes, yet at the same time, even I have to reel myself in, so I'm contradicting myself.

Woohoo! Just think, you'll be saying the exact same thing next May!

I do data review for a pharmaceutical company.

I work for myself..... I make stained glass and jewelry.
I am also a MonaVie distributor.

Anyway, I'm pursuing my BSW (Bachelor of Social Work) and will be done this time next year. After that, I continue not having a life until I get my MSW, and then I will hopefully have a job. :eek:

During the week, I work as a TSS to children with behavioral issues, such as Autism, ADD, and ADHD.

On the weekends, I work at a small winery, giving wine tastings and selling wines.

And I'm thinking about going back to school.

i have covered them, as well as a serial killer, a serial rapist, rogue cops, happy cops, and a chimp. and comforted those who have lost loved ones suddenly.
and I've won 2 state writing awards, got 1 law passed, and mentored several young women new to the field, as in journalism.
An on-the-job injury ended that, now, I get to start over.

Starting this fall I'll be teaching freshman biology and coaching football and either basketball or powerlifting at a HS in Texas.

I work for a firm that does consulting for philanthropy. I'm in charge of donor research.

Starting Fall '07, I'll be in grad school for urban planning.

LAN Systems Analyst for the past 7 years. Prior to that I was an Occupational Therapist working on (primarily) adolescent psychiatric units for 13 years. My degree was in OT.
