Have you driven anyone crazy?
 

I posted an earlier thread about driving pet peeves.

The new question is have you ever made anyone really mad at the way you drive?

Recently, I was at a stop light and when I reached down to pick up a CD off of the floor, by mistake I took my foot off of the clutch and the car took off into the car in front of me.:o

There was no damage. I got out to apologize, but the crazy thing was we were on a gravel road (construction) and I ended up in front of the same car I just bumped. To make a long story short, I wasn't paying attention (talking on my cell phone :rolleyes:) and a car stopped in front of me, so I slammed on the brakes, sliding toward the car in front of me almost bumping him. I finally came to a stop, but the car behind me was sliding toward me. No accident thank God. I was so embarrassed.:o

The lady in back of me was SO mad. I couldn't blame her.:o

Girl, you can't drive.
 

Maybe you should be a little more careful while driving. It's people like you that have caused some fatal accidents. It's not something to joke about.

I have definitely had more than one accident. I'm not that great of a driver. Passable, yes. Am I so confident that I cart around other people's small children? NO.
Things I've noticed that make driving and not hitting people or making it harder for them to hit me is to NOT DO the things you've talked about. If something is on the floor, leave it. Don't talk on the phone. Are you one of those people that text when you drive too?
Good grief. PM_Mama00 didn't need to start a new thread - you in essence bragged about doing things that cause fatalities. All she did was call you out on it.
Cute way to start the thread though. I'm guessing "Hey! I'm an irresponsible driver!" just didn't have the same ring to it in the subject line.

Seriously. First you hit someone because you were picking up something off the floor, then you almost hit someone because you were too damn busy talking on the cell phone.

PM Mama didn't do a thing wrong with her post. People like you scare the shit out of me. And people like you kill people.

Everyone f's up and everyone does stupid things sometimes. But then learn from it and don't go around bragging about it like they did something cool.

cheerfulgreek, hopefully you have learned your lesson from that incident and minimize your distractions while driving.

You may have gotten lucky so far, but if you continue with that behavior its only a matter of time before something more serious happens.

A 5 year old boy in my area died because of a 20-something woman talking on a cell phone. She wasn't speeding, just wasn't paying attention while talking on her phone. (Much like you described above.) Now the little boy's dead, and she's in jail for vehicular manslaughter.

The only reason I'm happy you do things like that is because it's people like you that give people like me a job to do. I really, truly, believe that talking on a cellphone while driving should be made illegal in more states. Hands-free or no talking. I will either not answer my cellphone while driving, or put it on speakerphone and put the phone down completely.

I piss people off everytime I get on the road. I have an almost white-hot hatred for people who try to rush me. People are in such a fucking hurry! I try to drive the speed limit but these people make it very hard for me to do so. If someone tailgates me, I WILL NOT speed up! If I don't see anyone behind that driver, I will purposely drive like 5-10 miles below the speed limit. Just PASS me or take another route, dammit. I don't do this on highways and other high speed areas and I rarely drive on them, so their "going with the flow" argument doesn't hold that much.

I sometimes fuck with these people in the self check-out lane in grocery stores. Oh, yes, I bet it's urgent for you to get home with your cigarettes and bag of potato chips. :mad: :mad: :mad:

I don't generally blast people on GC (in fact, I don't think that I ever have). But the idea that you think its "funny" that you are "a bad driver" is so reprehensible that it makes my stomach turn.

I have news for you - you're not a "bad driver." You're an irresponsible driver. A "bad driver" is someone who just doesn't possess the skills to drive safely, even when trying. (poor depth percepction, bad hand-eye coordination, etc.) An irresponsible driver is someone who is intentionally careless, like you.

Geez, most people learn their lesson - at least temporarily - after a fender bender. Not many people would be careless or stupid enough to rear end a person, and then a few moments later have another near miss with the same person on the same road. Most people would - at the bare minimum - use extreme caution for the rest of the day when driving (even if they went back to their old ways later).

To intentionally disregard the safety of others' lives and property on the road is the absolute height of self-centerdness, arrogance, and stupidity. Of course, what can we expect from someone who thinks its "funny" to tell another poster that she'd need plastic surgery to get a date. You should be ashamed of yourself.

When did I laugh about my accident? I NEVER said it was a joke! You guys have nothing else better to do than to put words in my mouth. I made a driver upset, and that's what this thread was about. I felt really bad about the whole thing. You guys make me sound like a criminal or something. Wow. Great. You met someone on here that you have a lot in common with. I posted that thread asking if anyone else ever checks people's backgrounds when they met them. You really need to get off the whole me meeting a sex offender. I never met him and stopped talking to him after I found out. And if everyone on GC actually admitted it, you'd find that there are a lot of people on dating sites. People are busy these days and don't have time to go out and meet someone. And even though we are on dating sites and you are on GC, you really have no room to make fun of someone for meeting someone online. Your little boy toy could have been someone psycho too... actually still could and by the way he talks on this site he's definitely got some anger management problems.

So to sum this up... get over yourself. If you don't like the way people on here are treating you because you act like a Class A retard, then there's another option. Leave.

Not certain if you were referring to my comment or not, but just in case...

I used the term "attention whore" - a fairly common expression that has absolutely no sexual connotation whatsoever. An attention whore essentially is someone who craves attention (you can find multiple extended definitions for the term on urban dictionary and other similar sites). When I used the term, I would have assumed that you were familiar with it, but of course there are regional differences in slang.

I would certainly never use the word "whore" to describe someone I've never even met (well, maybe for Paris Hilton ;):p). I typically don't even use that expression for people I do know in real life - even if they might fit the traditional definition of the word. And I definitely wasn't using the term that way towards you - as I mentioned, it was part of an expression which has an entirely different meaning.

Anyhow, its good to hear that you did take the situation seriously - didn't appear that way from your previous posts on the topic, which I think is why you drew such harsh criticism. As I mentioned, we had a recent case in my area where a 5 year old boy getting off a school bus was killed by a 20-something woman who wasn't paying attention b/c of her cell phone - obviously careless drivers are a touchy topic around here now. It is good to hear that you do take what happened to you seriously and that you did feel bad about it - hopefully the experience will keep you from being involved in a more serious traffic incident in the future. We all have to learn from our mistakes, right? :)

PM Mama00, actually I don't have anger management problems. I'm quite calm. You're probably referring to my thread on the gay thing. Actually a phobia is persistent illogical fear. I don't fear gays, I just don't agree with their life style. the sig kid was right. I guess with me getting angry about what I thought might have been a pass from a gay man doesn't make it right. We all have to deal with things that upset us, and I'm not perfect, this is just one of those things I'm not down with. It doesn't mean I'm psycho or have anger management problems. As far as my red flag list goes that Jock16 mentioned. Yes, I do have a laundry list of what I like and don't like in the women I go out with. We all have a preference. I would rather be single than to be miserable with someone I'm not happy with. I'm not trying to change your opinion about me, because you're entitled to it. I just have one thing to say about you. When I was reading the Ships on GC thread, you made a comment about you not being that attractive. It went something like that. Actually, you shouldn't think of yourself like that at all. Hey, we all have physical flaws. You're probably a very pretty woman. I actually think it's the pretty ones who don't find themselves attractive enough.
