Paris is going to jail...
Judge Sentences Hilton to 45 Days in Jail
May 4, 8:33 PM EST The Associated Press LOS ANGELES - A judge sentenced Paris Hilton to 45 days in county jail Friday for violating her probation, putting the brakes on the hotel heiress' famous high life. Hilton, who parlayed her name and relentless partying into worldwide notoriety, must go to jail on June 5 and she will not be allowed any work release, furloughs, use of an alternative jail or electronic monitoring in lieu of jail, Superior Court Judge Michael T. Sauer ruled after a hearing. http://tv.msn.com/tv/article.aspx?news=261148>1=7703 I can't tell if this is news or entertainment, so I put it here since it entertained me. (in my best Nelson from The Simpsons voice) Ha ha! Stupid...her lawyer even said she didn't know what she was signing when the cops pulled her over because she signs so many things...IDIOT. And the fact that she has to go to jail in Lynwood is even funnier. |
Her attorney probably told her that it was a very private & exclusive spa, without tailored meals.
It's about time that this latest batch of "celebrities" realizes what real life entails - although I do hope that she isn't, um, violated while there. |
I know that jail. I've seen it many times driving on the freeway. I couldn't stop laughing when I saw that she was spending 45 days in jail.
|
I laughed when I read that article. I read like 3 different versions of it, and one of them said that Paris looked "shocked" when the sentence was read. Is she really that stupid to think that she wouldn't get jailtime?
|
Anyone else think this is a publicity stunt for a new TV show?
|
I guess this means that her new album will be hardcore since she is coming from the "streets" now.
|
I guess we know where she and Nicole are filming next season's Simple Life.
I really hope she DOES have to serve the time in jail. I am so sick of celebs getting alternative options like rehab or community service when the rest of us would have to sit our butts in jail! |
Quote:
Uh. The "rest of us" wouldn't have to sit in jail if "we" didn't act like irresponsible asses. I'm glad she's going to jail, but I'm sure she'll be getting beat up everyday. |
Quote:
Hence the word 'would'. I seriously doubt this will change her irresponsible behavior, however. I just want to see what she looks like in 20 years when the alcohol has taken its toll on her looks! |
I highly doubt she'll get her butt kicked. She's probably going to be separated from the rest of the jail population and left alone with a guard watching her at all times to make sure she's not hassled.
|
It'll probably be the same for Paris as Martha Stewart. She'll totally have it easy in there. If her mother is so distraught over her daughter, maybe she should have paid closer attention to her behaviour and nipped it in the bud before all this went down.

LOL, you think someone will knit her a poncho?:D |

I really don't wish jail time on anyone. She drove under the influence, she didn't hurt anyone.

This time. I don't have stats to back me up, but most DUI vehicular homicides are caused by people who have already had a prior conviction. Anyone know the numbers on that? |
Quote:
Just because nobody got hurt she shouldn't get jail time? What about all those potential victims she could have hurt? Good luck convincing families of DUI victims that. Give the bitch her jail time and let's hope that she stops putting other lives in danger from now on. |

ITA about Nicole Richie. She was much prettier before she tried to become Paris by throwing up her lunch. Now she looks like a cartoon. It's sad, but with the kind of $$ girls like Paris and Britney have, you would think they could put it to better use. They are so young and they have already peaked. :( |
I'm a little surprised that she'd drive herself anywhere.. not like she can't afford a limo, or even a cab, when she's drinking.
|
Quote:
Um YEAH! College years aside, I won't even drink a glass of wine at a function unless I know there is a DD. Just what I need, a DUI conviction and my kids seeing mommy in jail. If I had her $$ I would just pay a driver to take me everywhere. I hate driving. |
Quote:
ROTFLMAO!!! On a side note, I remember seeing an article a while back about Brittney saying that her rep hooked her up with Paris to "improve" her image after the divorce, which she said was the reason for her rehab incident. I guess there was some truth to it. |

I really hope that this sort of teaches her a lesson. While she didn't hurt anyone, DUI is very dangerous and can endanger so many people. When I was in high school, I had a close friend who had an entire family (aunt, uncle, 3 cousins) that got killed by a drunk driver. The driver walked away with a few scratches.:( |

-she has the $$ to right? good riddance.. & i bet anything she'll get out of jail and a few months later she'll be DUI again. |
I think her figure is pretty ok, shrug.

Paris Hilton says jail term cruel, fires publicist:
So many parts of this story, on their own, cause me to think what is going on.......
http://www.reuters.com/article/topNe...7?feedType=RSS LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - In her first public comments since a prison sentence, celebrity heiress and reality TV star Paris Hilton has described her 45-day jail term for a driving related offense as cruel and unwarranted. Visibly shocked and tearful, Hilton was sentenced on Friday to 45 days in jail after a judge ruled she knowingly violated her probation on a previous traffic offense by driving without a valid license. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Sauer rejected the 26-year-old socialite's defense that she didn't realize her license was suspended and ordered her to report to a county detention facility on June 5. "I told the truth," Hilton told photographers waiting outside her Los Angeles home on Saturday night. "I feel that I was treated unfairly and that the sentence is both cruel and unwarranted. I don't deserve this." And it only gets better..... http://www.reuters.com/article/topNe...7?feedType=RSS |

I wish more people would read the stories of surviving family and friends and learn a lesson or two. It breaks my heart everytime I hear about a life taken away by something so stupid and selfish. |
i am going to go and steal a pack of Juicy Fruit and a Red Bull from a 7-11 out there, just so that i can get jail time where she is!
high 5 to the judge that thought to himself, "hmmm, im gonna stick it to that Hilton girl. I'll bet their hotel wont charge me 3 bucks again for a Kit-Kat!" |
I have a friend whose mother (good friends with my mother) and unborn sibling were taken after coming home from church (on a Wednesday! not even a weekend!) by some fool with alcohol in his system. Her and her 2 sisters were in the car and were injured badly but survived, they weren't told of their mothers death for several days. The family was from Africa and the father was very traditional and strict and their mom had always been the buffer. After she died, there was no one to help her take care of her two sisters and she ended up getting pregnant and kicked out of her house. Her home became hell for her family after her mother's life was taken. And for what?
Paris Hilton deserves everything she gets, people who drink and drive should no be allowed to repeat their mistakes! Life is dangerous enough as it is, why should anyone have to deal with the consequences of someone else's actions? Suck it up you stupid whore! |
I am sorry the pampered little princess deserved what she got! Play the ,"I didn't know" card and it will only make the judge more upset. These celeb's need to realize what real life is and that there are consequences to your actions.
DUI is no laughing matter she needs to realize that .... so maybe with 45 days ( were talking talking day not months or yrs) she will learn and maybe even sober up and quit partying so much. |
If she will serve her term... from the article I doubt it. They are appealing of course and if she is like Michelle Rodriguez she may only serve four hours.
She needs a reality check. And I agree with everyone else... you have the money pay someone to drive you home. |
How is it that buying a cheeseburger (IIRC that is what she claimed she was doing when pulled over last time.) at 11 pm with no headlights considered necessary travel to and from work? She needs to stop blaming everyone else for her idiotic choices!!
I have to agree with those people who said that this may make her more "popular" with the paparazzi. UGH! She needs to go away! |
Quote:
GFY has a pretty funny take on it... |
There is absolutely no excuse for drinking and driving. Absolutely NONE! There are too many irresponsible and reckless idiots in the world doing this that end up killing and hurting people and families. She should not be pardoned for whatever reason. I saw an online petition on her myspace page asking for her fans to sign the petition so that the governor of CA can pardon her.
|
I think people don't differentiate between degrees of driving while intoxicated.
They think of the worse things that have happened and suddenly anyone at the limit is a murderer. Regardless of how they are driving. Thats not rational. Thats an emotive argument and can't be argued against. Quote:

this is unfortunate for her but i think it is good to show people that you can get out of things no matter how much money you have. When is she exactly going?
