Status of Your Local

It just seems that the local group has had no recent posts in such a long time... I wanted to know how every one is doing with new pledge classes?

PhoenixAzul 04-17-2007 04:54 AM

We initiated 3 new girls in winter, and we've pledged 3 this quarter too, they'll be initiated on the 29th. We're very proud of both classes and we feel like they truly represent the ideals of the chapter :).

ssuchidelt 04-17-2007 01:18 PM

We initiated 13 lovely ladies in the fall and have 9 more lovely ladies this semester who will be inititated. We're also in the process of affiliating with an NPC sorority.

DEB_Bloomsburg 04-17-2007 04:30 PM

we initiated 4 girls in the fall pledge class and 11 girls in the spring pledge class :)

SigmaPezY60 04-17-2007 04:35 PM

Sigma Psi Kappa Sorority has been reincorporated in the state of New Jersey. Our Alumnae Association is growing and is in the process of incorporation as well. We are in our second year of awarding scholarships to an active member based on an application/essay process.

Our active chapter at NJIT initiated 3 women last fall and will soon be initiating the Alpha Epsilon class. I believe there are 2 women in this class. This is the first year of deferred recruitment at NJIT and it was not received well accross the board. It is taking some time to adjust for all of the sororities.

We are in the process of getting insurance and raising money for our scholarship fund.

AlethiaSi 04-18-2007 09:10 AM

I'm an alum, but 10 girls just got in and 3 last semester :)
It's very exciting, considering this is our largest pledge class since I pledged 4 years ago.

OmegaPDPrez 04-18-2007 11:30 PM

congrats to everyone... it will be nice to hear about what will be going on for the fall semester

Fall Rush

Anybody have any exciting plans for the fall? For me School starts in six weeks and im frantic and excited about the new year and new members.

Emeril12 08-16-2007 12:04 PM

We (Phi Rho Alpha at University of Michigan) are finally moving into our very own chapter house! It's gorgeous, just needs a little work. We've got 23 people living in, and I'm really excited for all the progress we've made in the two years since I founded the organization.

OmegaPDPrez 08-17-2007 12:35 PM

wow. only after two years and you already have a house? thats so amazing. i am very happy for you all!!

OmegaPDPrez 09-10-2007 04:05 PM

why is this so difficult

i recieved an email today from one of the people in administration - to remind me that " my organization is not a registered group and cannont advertise or use campus facilities for meetings for this local sorority"

Its so sad, that my sorority sisters and I do not even have the chance to try to form a successful local. That our only option is to colonize for a national group.

So I think my sisters and I will have a meeting about forming a colony and I will begin to PM the nice ladies who contacted me about expansion.

I just want to say that throughout this year being in this local has been interesting and has allowed me to do so much with just so little and I am happy for as far that I was allowed to go being a memeber of Omega Phi Delta.

ZetaXiDelta 09-14-2007 10:51 PM

Well, our first rush week is complete and we're giving bids to 9 wonderful girls. :D

PS - The girls think they're finding out Monday but we're going to surprise them throughout the weekend!

ZetaXiDelta 09-15-2007 02:16 PM

haha, i can't count...we're taking 10 girls, not 9!

OmegaPDPrez 09-16-2007 04:42 PM

ZetaXi- Am very excited for your group and your new girls and i hope you guys have a great semester~ keep us posted!

LunaP 10-07-2007 12:14 AM

This is my sorority's first recruitment semester and we're about to initiate 13 new girls! I'm completely bouncing off the walls; I couldn't have asked for a better turnout! *dances*

Titaniaxxxi 10-08-2007 12:53 PM

we had an excellent recruitment- doubled our numbers!!!! plus a few COBs lined up for the spring!!

OmegaPDPrez 10-11-2007 08:40 PM

omega phi delta has decided to cross two lovely ladies into our organization for the fall semester. and in other status news we are officially going to be considered a service organization. We've upgraded our constitution and we are also considering expanding our group to a second and/or third chapter. I am excited for the spring

ZetaXiDelta 10-12-2007 06:27 AM

SigPhiSunshine 11-12-2007 04:54 AM

congrats to all the locals doing so well this semester.

we have had such a busy fall so far. we spent september doing structured rush and got 7 wonderful ladies, and got 1 more the week after bid day through open recruitment.

we finally got around to having our 110th birthday celebration 2 weeks ago (a few weeks late, but we still had a great time!).

and tonight we intiated 6 amazing women. (we had one pledge drop due to time conflicts and another one dropped due to financial reasons)

now were just kicking out this last month or so with 2 more open recruitment events and finals. i cant wait for this semester to end!

OmegaPDPrez 11-12-2007 04:40 PM

Zeta Xi,
Your group is so beautiful in the picture.

Sorry, never heard of NBO.

SthrnZeta 12-20-2007 12:15 PM

It was formed back in 2003 maybe and they were trying to affiliate with an NPC, AXiD was their first choice but AXiD declined because their group was too small. The group is no longer listed on the school's website but Kappa Zeta now is, along with another local, Alpha Psi (who was trying to affiliate with A-Phi) but her story was so long and detailed on GC and it spanned over a couple of years. Just wondered what happened to her and the org she founded. I know the girl graduated and was doing well with her career but that was back in 2005 the last time she posted, I think...
