Yup, I wrote Lazarus and the soon to be released (for real this time!) Covenant.
www.oldgoldsoul.com I also created the Alpha Renaissance, which is a collective of Alphas who are writers, dancers, singers, rappers, actors, sculptors, etc. We were formed: 1) To create networking opportunities for members of artistic professions. 2) To highlight artistic careers as a chosen path, not just an alternative, for collegiate Brothers. 3) To promote the arts and humanities within Alpha Phi Alpha 4) To discuss how we use our craft as a vehicle for social change. Right now, we are making plans for an informal one and a half day "conference" in the summer of 08 in DC, to coincide with the Centennial Celebration for the AKAs. (We figured many of us would be in town anyway) We are also planning The Alpha Song Project, which will collect lyrics of various Alpha songs through the years. Our last songbook (to my knowledge) was produced in 1948, and we'd like to preserve those songs and catalog our local and regional lyrical traditions that have evolved since that time. |
