Read it last summer sometime and am definitely looking forward to the movie!

mu_agd 03-30-2007 10:04 PM

Isn't it a series, not a movie?

smiley21 03-31-2007 08:04 AM

It is a six hour movie/mini series type of thing.

dzfan 04-01-2007 05:05 PM

Yeah it is a movie series -- it comes out May. And thanks for the link, doesnt it look cute?

And CrimsonTide4, so glad you enjoyed the book -- I am looking forward to reading it :)

texas*princess 04-01-2007 07:46 PM

I had never heard of the book before (lately I've been reading nerdy business type books) but I'm definitely downloading this one to read before the mini-movie series happens.

Are they going to show all 6 hours in a row? Will it at least be on a weekend?

I'm lame and don't have TiVo.

dzfan 04-10-2007 09:04 AM

well according to futon critic it looks like the first episode will be two hours and then next 4 episodes will be one hour so it looks like it might occur over 4 hours. I hope this helps.

Looking forward to the book and the movie series! I can't believe how close May is :)

dzfan 04-19-2007 04:30 PM

I just saw a preview for this...looks so cute. has no one else seen it?

CrimsonTide4 05-30-2007 08:46 AM

tomorrow evening:)

PeppyGPhiB 06-01-2007 01:28 PM

Anyone else watch it last night? I thought it was great. I'll definitely be DVRing it.

What's funny is that they so glamorized Malibu. Yes, the Colony is filled with Hollywood elite and you don't get through the gates without living there or being invited, but the rest of Malibu is actually pretty casual. Very common to see celebrities at the grocery store or coffee shop in tshirts and flip flops.

bluefish81 06-01-2007 09:06 PM

I watched it last night and thought it was pretty good. Looking forward to next week's episode. I'm thinking about picking up the book as I imagine that might also make for some good summer reading.

Unregistered- 06-04-2007 02:36 AM

I finally got a chance to catch up on my DVR and I enjoyed the first two hours.

I haven't read the book (and probably won't because I don't get to read anymore), so I'm definitely looking forward to the next 4! I'm curious to see what happens with Lou.

In the meantime I'll keep on distracting myself with Sam and those blue eyes. :)

KDAngel 06-04-2007 02:00 PM

I've watched about the first 10 minutes... can't wait to finish it. I love love love Debra Messing! :D

AlphaFrog 06-04-2007 02:03 PM

It's really good. Just love how Debra Messing's still got the gay best friend.

I am  at Cricket's (really, what kind of name is that?) husband. He's an asshole telling her she can't be with her friend, and then cheating with the nanny.

dzfan 06-04-2007 05:25 PM

I really enjoyed it as well -- very entertaining. I think Messing is perfect for the role. Sooo what do yall think happens to Lou? Do you think he dies?

It's not the first time "Cricket" has been used as someone's character name.

Young and the Restless used to have a "Cricket" (she married Paul and then I stopped watching so I don't know whatever happened to her) before they all started calling her "Christine".

Thetagirl218 06-04-2007 05:48 PM

I miss the first episode? Is it going to be on again?

I remember how it happened in the book. Hopefully it stays the same in the tv mini series.

you can watch it on the usa website and I would definitely catch up before this thursday. It looks like another good one.

Does anyone else think Lou is going to die?

I know that people already know what happened in the book...but I'm trying very hard not to look up what happens!

FYI...the Chris Diamantopoulos (the gay guy) is married to Amanda, our favorite bitchy Ugly Betty receptionist, IRL. :)

adpi*violet 06-23-2007 08:15 AM

Bumping...
Has anyone else been watching? It's totally mindless, but for some reason I'm hooked. :o

KDAngel 06-24-2007 04:30 PM

So I watched the whole thing this weekend (finally) and I love it! I can't wait to see how it finishes Thursday. :)

SapphireSphinx9 06-24-2007 07:13 PM

I've been watching it with my mom - we both LOVE it!

Didn't know it was a movie series though, I'm bummed out about that... I was hoping that it would be a Summer show.

Aw they replayed all of it this weekend? I missed one week of it and would have watched it had I known. Instead I went to Oceans 13. I'm enjoying this series and wish it wasn't ending so soon.

No, no. I've had them sitting on my DVR since the series began. They do play randomly throughout the week though.

But, starting at 1 on Thursday, the whole series is repeating for anyone who missed it.
1 p.m. Hours 1 and 2
3 p.m. Hour 3
4 p.m. Hour 4
5 p.m. Hour 5

Then the whole series will repeat again Sunday morning at 11:30. :)

StarFish106 06-26-2007 02:21 PM

I loved the fact that Kenny got fired but now they have to do the divorce settlement all over again. This is such a good show!

btb87 06-27-2007 08:37 AM

I really am hoping that Molly and Lou get together, but I'm betting it won't happen.

KDAngel 07-04-2007 12:30 AM

So it was a very enjoyable mini-series. I just hope Messing gets another regular show on the air soon -- how I've missed her!
