Boyfriend Seminar
To the guys:
What is it about girls, dating, girlfriends, or anything else related to being a boyfriend that you have questions about? To the girls: What are a few things that you wish the guys you're dating knew? |
1. I think a relationship seminar makes more sense than a boyfriend seminar. I know you're basing it off of a book but a general message might be better than just pinpointing the guys.
Maybe some stuff about how respecting and loving yourself better allows you to respect and love someone else. Stuff about balancing a relationship with being a college student. Communication, dating on a budget, and stuff like that. 2. Geesh...as an undergrad, what was my take on relationships? I don't remember. I know it was nothing like it is now. So I won't impose my viewpoints of relationships on a group of 18-22 yr olds. :) |
Are you guys even qualified to do something like this?
If I were a student on your campus and needed boyfriend/relationship advice, I'd seek a professional, sorry. Just because you have a book doesn't necessarily = expert. |

we're girls and we know what we like in boyfriends. i think that qualifies us. i must have missed the place where i claimed to have a PhD in psychology. |

I just find it hard to believe how anyone would want to take relationship advice from a bunch of young college girls just because they read a book and they think they know what they want in boyfriends. Oh yeah. I'm sure people will be signing up by the boatloads. |

Are you all going to have a panel or will it be a free-for-all discussion of relationships? If you're having structure like a panel, then you will need more than some book to get people to care. If it's a free-for-all, why should anyone attend your program if they can get the book on their own and talk to their friends about it? |
"He's Just Not That Into You"
This guy did a pretty good job with little or no credentials! LOL

Like I said, it's all how they structure and advertise it. |
I think if they approach it from a "let's talk about the difference between the sexes", invited at least a fraternity to come, held it some place where people could get comfortable and served chips/pizza it could be a fun event for people to share their ideas.

Jessica Elaine?
Are you 86 years old? |
ok. i changed the original post so that you people can focus just on what i was asking and wanted. that first sentence must have confused you.
this is not my event and no matter what you say, unless it is responding to those questions up there are not going to get to the girl that's planning it. you can tell me i'm not qualified all you want, it's not going to change anything. Nor is it going to hurt or harm you so i don't know why you're making such a big deal about it. calm down. |

WAH.
Then this thread needs to be moved to D&R since all the threads in there are lame anyway, with the exception of Dionysus' Pegging thread. You'll have the same three people in there giving you advice. Have fun. |

You're more excited than anyone else. |
And if this isn't your event, you need to let someone else worry about it.

Whatever keeps this thread at the top. |
i know! lets ask for a millionth time why everyone joined their organization!
|
Anyway, your thread is pointless and has nothing to do with Greek Life. If you just want to know what folks want from the opposite sex, read the Dating Forum.
|
Shouldn't you be working on your rush booklet?
|
I wish the guys I were dating knew that taking me out everywhere doesn't impress me. I wish they knew that just relaxing and watching movies is really what I enjoy. A drive in is good too.:p

As far as a "boyfriend seminar" - the only tards who would want to attend such a thing are those who probably have accidentally "mastered" whatever surface-level relationship advice you'll give simply by being either interested, desperate or weak (and thus deferential). The actual boyfriends who need your advice are laughing at the absurdity of the project. So, all in all, I'm not really sure of the efficacy of such a seminar, but hey guys, more power to you. |

This thread reminds me of that episode of Beverly Hills 90210 where Steve runs that seminar at the After Dark teaching guys how to pick up chicks. Each participant had to put up $250 to take the course. The guys eventually sued because none of Steve's tips actually worked...with the exception of David, of course. He met a nice girl using Steve's pick up lines, but he eventually got dumped when Steve's court case appeared on TV via a Peoples' Court-like show and the chick found out, only she wasn't being played and David really liked her.
