Miss USA 2007

I know it's early, but I'm a pageant junkie!

The pageant airs March 23rd on NBC. The competitors are posted online & of course I already have my faves!

Does anyone know if any of this year's contestants are Greek?

I know that Miss Oklahoma Caitlin Simmons is a Sigma Sigma Sigma!

*Edit*

Here's a list of the GLO affiliations of the 2007 competitors:

Miss Alabama USA: Rebecca Moore- FM (University of Alabama)
Miss Arkansas USA: Kelly George- DDD (University of Maryland- College Park)
Miss Alaska USA: Blair Chenoweth -PBF (University of Oklahoma)
Miss Florida USA: Jenna Edwards -KKG (University of Miami FL)
Miss Illinois USA: Mia Heaston- AKA (University of Memphis)
Miss Oklahoma USA: Caitlin Simmons -SSS (SE Oklahoma State)
Miss South Carolina USA: Ashley Zais- KAQ (Wofford College)

Miss Hawaii USA is Chanel Wise -- and I know that she's not Greek because she attends Hawaii Pacific University, a school that doesn't have Greek life.

I know for a fact that she sells and uses Arbonne, so that's enough for me to throw my support elsewhere.

I'm a pageant junkie also, and it's never too early to show support. I'll be going to a Miss Louisiana state meeting the night of Miss USA, so I'll be doing pageant stuff in person.

Don't know if Liz McNulty, Miss Louisiana USA, is Greek.

Miss Florida USA is a Kappa Kappa Gamma from the University of Miami.

Miss Alabama lists "being involved with my sorority" as one of her favorite activities, but she doesn't say what sorority she's in.
Miss Illinois is an AKA. (source)
Miss South Carolina is a Theta.
Miss Alaska is a Pi Phi.
Miss Arkansas is a Delta Delta Delta.

A newspaper article lists her as a Phi Mu.

YAY!!!! A Phi Mu!

It would be awesome if we had an Alpha Gam at Miss USA!

Honestly?

I'd rather have an Alpha Gam Miss America (and we have in the past). I'd hate for any Alpha Gam to be associated with Trump and that pageant.

Blair Chenowirth any relation to Kristin Chenowith who is from Oklahoma?

You already have "Ambuh" from Survivor x2, Amazing Race x2 and "Rob and Amber Get Married". ;)

I was wondering the same thing actually. Kristen Chenoweth is a Gamma Phi Beta from OK City U. But note that Blair C. is representing Alaska.

I can't wait for this. I wonder what type of evening gowns will our contestants wear. I wasn't too impressive with some of the gowns in previous pageants (i.e. Miss Teen USA, Miss Universe, and last year's Miss USA) But otherwise this would be fun to watch!

ΑΓΔSquirrel10 03-14-2007 03:01 PM

The evening gowns are my favorite part of the whole pageant! I think I just watch all of these pageants just to look at the dresses:D

Bumping because the pageant airs tonight at 9:00 on NBC :)

I love Miss Nevada's (because I'm a pink freak), Miss Tennessee's, and Miss Rhode Island's dresses. I'm not fond of Miss California's dress. It looks trashy with the low-cut v. It kind of reminds me of last year's Miss Ohio's dress. And Miss Kansas dress looks like a Christmas present with a ribbon and no bow.

I hope Miss Tennessee wins!

And congratulations to Miss Alabama for winning the Most Photogenic award.

tld221 03-23-2007 10:52 PM

the chick with the really choppy flipped up hairstyle, the brown and gold dress is gorgeous!

Miss California's dress is nice too, but i agree, it looks a little trashy for a pageant. then again they parade around in a swimsuit, so letting the goodies show ideally shouldnt be a problem...

is it me or are these girls at best average? i call it the eva longoria thing - everything THINKS she's so hot, but when you play the "hot" character, people will think you are. these girls are just meh to me but everyone is going to think theyre gorgeous cause theyre playing the part.

sunnyhibiscus 03-23-2007 10:57 PM

Yay! Miss Tennessee won! (I'm from Tennessee, BTW)

KatieKate1244 03-23-2007 11:14 PM

Tennesee was my second choice, Kansas was my first. She had an amazing smile!

ASUADPi 03-24-2007 01:13 PM

I had a feeling Tennessee would win. My mom and I watched the swimsuit competition before we headed to a show (we are on a cruise). I stayed to watch the evening gown and Tennessee was number one (point wise) with Kansas and Rhode Island giving her a run for her money. I told my mom I thought TN would win. I'm glad I was right :D.

I hated Nevada's dress. I liked the pink color but the dress did nothing for her body. Then, I think it was Utah, her dress was wretched. It was the one where it was a skirt of ruffles and it was like a miniskirt in the front and super long in the back. I was like "omg what is she thinking!)

I was about to say something about Miss Utah's dress. I couldn't even describe it.
